a lot of entertainment bans in China aren't based on any actual laws and homosexuality isn't illegal over there…

( i dont think, c-ent and c-government gives a lot of shit on their own laws though. thinking of zhan zhehan, who visited the japanese shrine thing? I mean i didnt dive too deep into that, but from my memory , there were no laws against actors or idols visiting japan, and going to shrines (whether from war crominials or not) . and yet, he and most of his dramas, were scrubbed of the c-web?)
i have a question: since this is clearly marketed as a BL drama and they circumvent the c-ent restrictions and ban on that kind of stuff because they label it as Thai production, and since these are Chinese actors`?
won't they like, having to face repercussions for being part of such drama? won't the Chinese government like, put all the Chinese actors, who participated in this drama, on some sort of blacklist?
i mean, I cannot imagine even that, though this is like a tiny drop in production against the millions of normal heterosexual romance d-dramas that c-ent is churning out annually, but the c-government are like zealots cultists and knows no mercy??
ähh, i am not that kind of audience who watches dramas for plot holes or logic or such, not really. i just see if the overall storyarc is funny or interesting and speedily executed, and so far, this drama is really good. so far, i like the couple, like sure enough, secret identities, court intrigue and murder and mayhem, and they both are sort of people who have killed , and so are not innocent tropes here. in short: I love it! its very entertaining!
nope, no romance, or if, then less than 1%. if one wants to squeeze, there might be some sort of triangle, but even that is not about the ML and FL. like side characters and villains and so on, wiht the ML. its all about traitors, and deceptions and betrayals, and war atrocities and evil chinese nationalists and evil japanese cruelties during war, and more or less heroic rightous communists. its the usualy boring lore in c-dramas, but alas, i like the manly male character. probably the story also has a million logic loopholes, but i dont usually care about that in dramas as well.
all i know, it keeps me on the edge, the pace is crazay, and i love the cliffhangers and looking forward to each new episode! also, wow, lots of blood and violence and torture and so on, more than i remember seeing in other (romance type ) of dramas from this period.

(no one is talking about visiting brothel rights, right? hahah! so no consorts or concubines or second wife, but what about ähh do they have mistresses in this fantasy world? is he allowed to sleep with the maids? does that counts?)
either way, i don't know the novel, but it looks like the FL's relationship with the other 3 MLs was always be doomed, so a calm and tranquil no-passionate-love marriage seems from a purely business POV just perfect.

you can see from both threads, that i linked, the comments section is pretty much small, so yeah, its not well received. you hardly hear any buzz at all, but alas, i am not chinese, nor can i read chinese or understand mandarin, so not sure, whats going on on weibo.
i am 45, so was grew up watching the 80s versions of the condor heroes from Hongkong TVB. comparing to that, in my childhood nostalgia , every other adapation and remake has been lacking so far. and there has been TONS of remakes the last 40 years. I really wanted hot blooded to work for me , and i even like the main actor, who plays Guo Jing. But I have watched the first 5 eps of hot blooded, and damn, its just for my taste, too rushed. they compressed the entire story telling like a zip-file, so that i am having a hard time understanding, how the audience is supposed to develop any feelings for any of the characters at all. its like, phhrr nice, ohh too bad, you were framed and killed? sorry about that, move on to the next. there is zero chance to connect properly with the characters.
i am honestly curious, how the adaption into a movie with xiao zhan is going to fare, i loved him in the Untamed , but other than that, i am too old to be crazy passionate about stars or actors or ídols in general. Raving for a single show or drama for a short period of time is cool, but for the crazy reast, I am leaving it to the young stans, fans and stalkers. chinese fans or rather Chinese audience seems to be rather more crazy than western fans were in the past (lol, well it helped, we didn't have the internet and social networks, when I was young. much better for mental health).

should such beheaviour be excused or get pity? well i did not like him in the start ,and later, not only is he a poor excuse of a husband, but a human being overall.
But am i the only one who feels that the real villain was the Fl's ex husband he was way more evil than wanning…
both were psychotic in their own way. i mean the (western) modern psychology behind that usually feels so cheap to me:
no one is ever a truly evol, its always some sad or poor, or toxic childhood, or some (perceived) injustice were done to them, and thats why they felt entitled to do all evol deeds.
after ALL THE WORLD OWES them, for they were neglected, hurt, mobbed, looked down, whatever evol in the world, its the fault of third parties.
i like them both, but well they could have kept it the (in my opintion) more simply, i am greedy, and so own, thats why i am evol. not all that victimized blablabla . coz their justification is always, the worlds wronged me, so i am entitled to wrong and kill back everyone.
