For those bothered by my opinion, patience. For the first time I will not recommend a series, in the novel they…
Viewing is a personal experience, you can hate something and move on but who gives you the right to decide whether you want to recommend something to or not recommend something. Not everyone has to read the novel or know about it. Every time I watch an Agatha Christie adaptation, I try to forget the novel because adaptations always change many things , and expecting it to be exactly like the book might ruin the adaptation for me. This drama, I haven't read the novels but I had known the spoilers of the books, I still went in having not those points in my mind and watched it as an independent story andI loved it a lot. Firstly I totally disagree with the Euthanasia being superficial in this drama. Secondly this drama features multiple gay characters, the lead characters go on dates, they kiss, they slept together and yet you don't want to call it a BL. That seems preposterous to me. By saying it's not a BL you are refusing to acknowledge the sexuality of canon gay characters. And mind you this drama touches on their sexuality too, where Kan says he lives away from home because his father doesn't accept his sexuality or that Wasan is still not openly gay. There are so many minute ways their relationship develops. Their relationship develops differently here than the novel and I like how it went here. There are many many popular BLs that people rave about where the relationship starts abruptly, or the kissing and sex happens abruptly but no one seems to have any criticisms for them. To call a queer story not a BL when I have seen the term BL being used for every LGBTQ drama or film that's not BL is double standards to me. I don't even know what to say.
Also the scriptwriter clearly mentioned on twitter, Wasan giving Kan the flower at the end means "I forgive you, I love you and I will always love you". Those are her exact words.
Hold on, I just remember. They haven't addressed the pen problem, right? who stole it and who put it on the bedroom…
The scriptwriter writer said Boss did it because when he saw Kan and Wasan's relationship developing, he thought Kan would stop euthanising and since Boss kind of obsessively idolised Kan for Euthanasia he wanted that relationship to be disrupted. So he tried to frame him in order to cause disruption between Kan and Wasan. The scriptwriter said this was what was in the script which didn't make it to screen during rewrites. She apologised for not having this part cleared on screen
Honestly so true, I have been on tumblr for 15 years now, people used to write long meta posts for dramas far less deeper than this one. Suddenly everyone has nothing positive to address and only faults to find. Really seems so weird to see where we have reached on that site tbh
Sadly it's even worse on tumblr, from calling it a flop to what not. I really feel bad seeing all the stuff people are saying on there. I know I should just focus on loving what I love but yeah it still gets to me a little bit.

Thanapob praising JJ, he always does in the interviews since they were cast together.
Tor was so surprised and happy when an International fan said they loved Spare me your mercy. He said because this is his first BL, he was not sure if people would like it or not. He said keep supporting us. He is so precious in this clip.
