Well JJ is the one who has previously played gay (Diary of tootsies series) and pan (Great Men Academy) characters,…
I can understand you liking Tor better than JJ in this, I totally respect your review .I just wanted to clear the narrative of JJ being hesitant about playing a gay character that you mentioned. That is just not true. Sometimes false narratives become popular in fandom spaces and I feel that's unfair is all.
1. Barely a BL, so if you're planning to watch it solely for that reason, it's better to just skip the series…
Well JJ is the one who has previously played gay (Diary of tootsies series) and pan (Great Men Academy) characters, it was Tor's first time doing so. JJ has mentioned in an interview after this drama finished that he def wants to continue to take up BL roles. I don't see hesitation from him about doing gay roles based on his interviews and previous works.
We really got something amazing with this drama. It will be in my heart for quite a while.
So much. I really hope we can see them collaborate again. I am also catching up on their other individual dramas now. Just about to finish Analogue Squad and finished up to episode 10 of My Cherie Amour.
I think this is probably the case for most viewers. A lot of us didn’t know much or anything about who they…
It's a good drama and I agree I like the production , cinematography and chemistry too. Some of us genuinely love this drama and I don't understand why that's so unbelievable to people.
Honestly I am an older viewer. I knew nothing about the actors or the band members, actually I had a preconceived notion about this being another generic BL show. However after seeing some clips and gifs, I felt like checking it out and I genuinely ended up liking this series. It has a mellow, slice of life kind of feel, and I am loving that a lot. It makes me want to look forward to each episode. I positively am not here only cause it has actors or idols that I like. I only learnt about LYKN when I saw them perform on the gmmtv 2025 line up. I like the story, so I like it and expressed it here. That's really all that is there to it. PS : I only fangirl Joseph Chang , as I said I am a fandom oldie, but that's beside the point. 😘
Honestly I would say no, because MOD has a much bigger presence of romance . This has far less romance compared to MoD. Yes there are some similarities, both of them have small town settings and the mystery element but in this story one of the MLs is really a morally gray character . Also this is a dark ,melancholic story unlike MoD. The novel is written by the same author who wrote MoD, and according to the book takes place in the same universe. However it's better to approach this drama as a standalone story rather than expecting it to be like Manner of Death.

JJ in the Diary of Tootises. This series has 2 seasons and a movie. It's a much older series that happened before the breakout increase in BL watchers starting in 2020.
PS : I only fangirl Joseph Chang , as I said I am a fandom oldie, but that's beside the point. 😘
