I am really glad you did, I love this drama to pieces but yeah there are some continuity and editing issues I feel should have been worked on. I do hope this team can fix these type of issues in their future works.

He wanted to create a rift between Kan and Thiu. When he saw Kan becoming closer to Thiu he worried Kan might stop doing Euthanasia and Boss was obsessed with Kan committing Euthanasia. He wanted to stop them from getting closer by continuing the mistrust between them and that's why he planted the pen there. So that Thiu wouldn't get close to Kan. I mean I guess that's your pov but in a recent interview the writer and director both have said that they aren't trying to tell people to choose Euthanasia. They have also during airing of the show on twitter mentioned that Kan may be a good person but he isn't an ordinary guy, because no ordinary Doctor would choose to commit Euthanasia. Kan is a morally gray character. He isn't all good and tbh watching the show I found him scary too sometimes when anyone confronted him about Euthanasia. He might look cute and be kind with his patients but he for sure has a scary side to him.

I don't feel they promoted people to go for euthanasia. This has been in their country's talking point some time back. So they wanted to adapt this BL and they did it trying to put forward different povs of different people on the issue.
