This drama has all my heart. I am loving it so much , can't wait for the next episode.

I have never bashed any series that I didn't like, I have never gone on to a MDL to bash any BL, I get people have their own choices to love. The only reason MOD has been brought up here is because MOD and Triage were both brought up here specifically to put this drama down,multiple times ,on multiple consecutive days. While I had problems with MOD, I still enjoyed it when I watched , I loved Triage too very very much. However I didn't think MoD was perfect as people have been describing it while trying to put this drama down. The stuff that has been said about this drama the minute these two actors were cast, to continuing now with the constant spinning untrue narratives about the actors or makers is unfair. I am all for critical analysis, but when it's outright hateful it's only then that I have mentioned about MoD. I still love Maxtul , I have watched every single thing they have been in. This story is different the feels and vibes are different, the protagonists are different yet rather than watching it as a stand alone story people have compared it with MoD from day 1, someone said on this page,"it's a cheap copy of MoD", frankly I found that extremely insulting . This is the reason why I finally brought it up,because this comparison of SMYM to Manner of Death, putting MoD on a pedestal only to put this drama down has gone on for far too long.

So go and enjoy your superior Manner of Death. Also what you were doing was not criticism , not in good faith at all. You tried to spin it in ways that were untrue also bringing in false narratives about JJ. Yeah they reduced the romance but I didn't mind it, I did not find it unbelievable. Yes they said they removed NC scenes as fanservice because the show has a serious issue they wanted to focus on. Tbh I prefer it like this for the sombre and melancholic setting of the series. Anyway no point in arguing with people like you so I will be stopping after this.

Oh I know about MOD, I know about the novel and I watched the series in real time weekly when it was being released and yeah I have some big issues with it . That's my personal verdict on the series.

It's in the same universe but completely stand alone story.

I know for a fact the way you are presenting it is not true. I know the interview of the author you are talking about and it wasn't because of negative criticism at all, and where exactly has JJ asked people to stop complaining. I have followed his interviews and his final post afrer the series, where he said he will improve, just like he always says. You guys jump to the homophobic word far too soon and I have seen the entire fiasco on tumblr too . Not to mention the fact the even with the characters categorically stating they are gay, touching up on the fact that one has not been accepted by family for his sexuality and one of them is closeted, even when they kissed and had sex , some people have called it bromance, I find that a lot more problematic. And all this just because they have toned down romance or explicit elements which tbh I am fine with. People have praised MOD for succeeding there when I found it jarring with forced prostitution and trafficking of girls as the back plot , watching all the romance in it. It felt like a big disconnect. So there different people have different opinions. Also yes To Sir with love has the most watched ending but SMYM finale took place during Christmas which does affect a rating slump. No people have not given up on it, the characters were still gay. The story had a social message. So many people
liked it. And JJ has played gay and pan characters before. He also mentioned in an interview that in future he wants to do more BL too. Stop spinning things this way. You didn't like it that's fine . Viewing is a personal experience. However reducing the explicit elements doesn't mean the characters aren't gay, their queer es is not erased.

Spare me your mercy also has a douban rating of 8.5. It opened with an opening douban rating of 8.5 from 200 reviews, and it has maintained that rating now with over 1330 reviews. It seems like the chinese audience is loving the drama as well.

I read the interview, they are such good friends and they seem to have so much love and respect for each other. In another interview JJ mentioned that he sees Tor as a role model. He said back in the Nadao days they had an acting teacher and they had P'Tor, he was like a teacher, he was always there to guide him, and even now when he needs advice about acting related work he always calls up Tor. Whereas Tor also keeps praising JJ in his interviews. It's really such a lovely friendship to witness. They have themselves talked about the chemistry too and they have said it just comes naturally for the two of them.

Yeah I feel very surprised when some people say there's no chemistry. Like I can understand the criticism about the romance being reduced but I don't feel lack of chemistry at all. They have great chemistry I feel.

So happy for them. They deserve all the love.

In a village setting such as this, if I compare with a similar village setting in India where I am from, the police are like this, one might find them to be incompetent . Their police work might look crude and stupid. So it didn't feel all that far fetched to me. Neither did the situation of the hospital or the fact that the autopsies were taking place in that same hospital. Village/ rural settings are drastically different for countries like ours. They at least had a proper interrogation room, our interrogation rooms are far worse and often the poilice can be very aggressive even physically during the process

I feel the same way. I get drawn towards angsty and melancholic stories, needless to say why I love this so much. I also loved their intimate scene, it might be short but it was done so beautifully . I love it.
