The cinematography? Still perfection.
The chemistry? Got me giggling and kicking my feet.
The pacing? Hits the sweet spot.
Changyu and Xie Zheng each had their moments to be unhinged in these latest episodes, and I appreciated their no-nonsense approach so much. π
It took me a while to connect with Xie Zheng in the novel because he was just a bit reserved and cold in the beginning. But Zhang Ling He, along with some great screenwriting, managed to bring more warmth and approachability to the character right from the start.
That scene where both Xie Zheng and Changyu were talking about being orphans in the drama? I can't see the novel's Xie Zheng doing that so early on in their relationship lol.
I genuinely love Zhang Ling He's portrayal!
XZ: "Right now, do you want some?"
IF THESE ASSASSINS DON'T STOP INTERRUPTING OUR COUPLE. π€
I look forward to reading your thoughts on it~
Thank you so much for reading, Lynnea! β€οΈ
"Feng Lin, on the other hand, inflicts harm on others completely voluntarily and gratuitously, even when she has nothing to gain from it."
^ And seriously though! For some of the things she did, what were the reasons other than being a bitter hater? What did she gain from them??? I don't understand her, and I feel triggered just remembering some of her most recent offenses lol.
But yes, I hope the drama will end on a satisfying note for all of us, giving each character the ending they deserve. π
In my eyes, Ling Yi is not a good person. She's an opportunist who will stab you in the back if it benefits her. But at least she feels a small amount of guilt when she gets called out. At least she kinda understands the concept of debt and gratitude β even if it only crosses her mind once in a blue moon. π
But Feng Lin? She's rotten to her core. A snake. She feels so threatened by other people's accomplishments that she will go out of her way to hurt them. She doesn't just have an inferiority complex; she is inferior in every way. Trash skills, trash personality, trash person. There is no saving her.
The writers better not try to redeem Feng Lin in the last few episodes, or else I'll be so annoyed lol. I'm so tired of terrible people never facing any consequences for their actions. πͺ
A change of leadership is exactly what the factory needs. The new guy seems calm, observant, and fair. Not only is he willing to promote those who have talent, he can also see right past the bs. And what I love most? He isn't afraid to take swift action when he feels someone is trying to manipulate him (the satisfaction I felt when he dismissed Feng Lin!!)
Unlike Ms. Xu, he isn't here to make friends. He just wants to make the workplace run as efficiently as possible β good on him.
Having premarital sex was considered immoral during the Cultural Revolution, and it went against the values the Party wanted its people to uphold, so she could've gotten into a lot of trouble if she got caught.
That was why she lied and said no one else was in the house with her that night.
