I wouldn't say people are mad about the harem. More like, they find this aspect to be a turn off in a love story. Speaking for myself only, I find stories with one man + multiple women to be emotionally draining because I grew up in a traditional Asian culture where this is normalized (although it's no longer as popular as it was back in the days.) I understand the historical context of this practice, but it is still hard to watch women fight for crumbs of love from a man who don't deserve them. Even the "evil" concubines are pitiful to me because I know that they exist in a world where women are nothing without a good relationship with their fathers, husbands, and sons.

I don't mind watching dramas with harems if they're well-written though, and I'm enjoying The Princess's Gambit so far.

Honestly, same. I drop a lot of dramas because I get distracted / lose interest easily too, so I get it lol.

I really like the title The Princess's Gambit too, but it's funny you mentioned "Blossom" since Meng Ziyi have two dramas attached to her name with the word "blossom" in the titles lol

I saw some comments saying that eventually she'll be his only spouse, so hopefully that's true.

I just finished episode 1, and I think it's a pretty good start! The episode feels a bit short, but it is gripping and I'm intrigued.

Yeah, each episode is 40 minutes only when cdrama episodes are usually an hour long. I feel cheated lol.

I thought it was just me. Earlier, I couldn't access the site or the app at all. The app is still down for me, but the site seems to be a little better now... it's laggy though.

I'm a wimp when it comes to scary stories so I don't know why I'm watching this, but I just finished episode 1 and at least it's been interesting so far. 😭😭😭

I was just about to ask this. It's hard to follow the drama because the subtitles are so bad.

Ikr??? Cdramaland is an interesting place. There will be long periods of time where they give us nothing, and then out of nowhere, they will drop 4-5 highly anticipated dramas all at once. But I'm not complaining, I'm thankful. I'll gladly take them all.😌

Yesss. I'm going to try to watch The Princess Gambit, A Dream within a Dream, In the Name of Blossom, and Love's Ambition while they're all airing simultaneously. Pray for my sanity lol.
