A long time ago, Wei Shao's grandfather and Manman's grandfather had a verbal agreement to come to each other's aid if it was ever needed. But when Xindu (a Wei city) got attacked, the Qiao clan (Manman's clan) did not honor that agreement. Manman's grandfather saved his own people by ignoring the Wei's plea for help, and without the reinforcement, Xindu was defeated. The enemies ended up executing 3 generations of Weis in Xindu. This caused the deaths of Wei Shao's grandfather, father, and older brother, and it became the start of the Wei and Qiao beef.

People who think Wei Shao is a simp only think that way because they don't see men and women as equals, so it boggles their minds when a man like Wei Shao cares for his wife because in their eyes it is a man lowering himself for a woman. But they are equals. A relationship is a partnership. Why wouldn't Wei Shao worry for her and want her to be happy? If she is doing well, then he is doing well because they will both benefit - they are partners!

The drama is SO GOOD. I'm a late comer so I just barely found out about this drama this year. I'm already going insane waiting 24 hours for new episodes to drop so I can't even imagine how long time fans did it by waiting 2 years for the drama lol.

Respectfully, I disagree. Being afraid to help others because you don't want your own to die is the very definition of cowardice... and I understand her because it was a realistic response.

I'm not sure what happened in the book since I didn't get very far, but in the drama, Boya never asked Wei state for help and Wei state never denied help. Boya asked Yanzhou for help and it was the Qiao clan that said no. The only time that Wei State might have offended DQ and BZ was when they weren't invited to the Deer Hunt, which we all know it was due to unfortunate circumstances and not because XQ didn't care for DQ or BZ.

XQ never asked DQ or BZ to repay her back for anything. In his own words, it was BZ who offered to help XQ in the future if she ever needed aid. By denying XQ's plea for help, DQ turned her husband into what the Qiao clan was, a liar, once again breaking a promise to be there for Wei in a time of need.

And if DQ truly wanted to protect her man, then refusing to send in reinforcement at this critical time was the wrong call. What did she think was going to happen once Wei and Yanzhou fell? Did she think that LY will leave her and her husband alone? Did she truly believe her husband will be safe after that? No, LY will come for Boya next.

I don't think it's fair to say that XQ don't care for BZ's safety and only care for WS's safety when the reality is if WS fails, everyone they love is next.

DQ never sees the bigger picture. She can only see what is in front of her. That's why she fail to understand that she's living on borrowed time. If LY succeeds, he's coming for her little paradise next.

It definitely will be awkward. AFan's refusal to send reinforcement basically implied, "It sucks, but it's better your husband die than mine."
It's really tragic to see because we know how close the two sisters were. :/

The undefeated champ, every single time. There is a reason why the great Wei Shao is afraid of her lol.

It was really frustrating to hear DQ call Manman selfish when Manman was also the reason why DQ has everything DQ has now. Manman threw herself into the wolf den so DQ could have her fairytale.
Also for DQ to imply that Manman didn't love Wei Shao as much as DQ love BZ was just wild because if Manman didn't love Wei Shao, Manman would've been okay with Wei Shao dying. If Wei Shao die, then Manman would be a free woman.

Da Qiao is a Qiao through and through.

Just when I thought episode 29 was the best episode yet, we got episode 30 and it was even better.

This episode was He Hong Shan and Song Zu Er's best performances in the drama so far- especially Song Zu Er. What a powerful and heartbreaking moment between the two sisters during that argument. It had me crying because I was so frustrated with Da Qiao for her cowardice. I hated how selfish and cruel she was for her words toward Manman, "I'm not like you. I won't send my husband to go die for me." Seriously, what? As if Manman was heartless and did not love her husband and was okay with him dying.
It was painful to watch Manman's heart break when she realized her sister would not help her and how powerless she felt when she realized her husband was left all alone on the battlefield without allies... again.
I was so angry with Da Qiao, and yet at the same time... a part of me also get it. During that fight, she also told Manman, "I will give up my life for you, but I refuse to let BZ die for you." And I knew she meant it with her whole heart. Die for Manman? Yes, because she really did love her sister. But watch her soulmate die? No, she couldn't do that. It was incredibly selfish, but if I was put in the same situation, I honestly don't know what I would do.
It has never been more clear than in that moment how different the two Qiao sisters were: Manman, the realist, who always thought of others and planned for the future; Da Qiao, the dreamer, who only thought of her own interests and only lived for the moment in her own little world.

This is why I love Manman so much. Our girl is a problem solver. She don't just give up when things don't go her way. She wipes her tears and she starts planning. The way she only had 500 soldiers and she still stood bravely between 20,000 enemy soldiers and her man just so he wouldn't have to fight alone... that is love, Wei Shao. You won't find another woman like her. Manman proves time and again that she is a daughter of Qiao, but she is also the Lady of Wei, and you will not hurt her man without feeling her wrath.

I really wish we had two episodes today, but ep 30 was so good, I'll give the network a pass on being so stingy with us. Can't wait for tomorrow's episode~
