i'm officially a simp for babe, he has started to consume my every waking thought. he's perfectly cast and his chemistry with Billy is insane. Saint has such an eye for talent. Im actually loving the slower burn bc the tension when phaya and tharn are in a scene together is tew good. I also love how the issue with the case they were investigating was closed. if i remember correctly thai dramas cant be too overly critical of their government or they risk censorship so i thought they did a fine job of calling out not only the different systemic issues within the thai justice system, but also in how they dealt with the culprit. I continue to be impressed by this show. IFYLITA, the sign, and last twilight have really raised the bar for thai BLs this year
don't get me wrong im really enjoying this show but I cant help but think of how just a few little tweaks would make it that much better. I wish we got more depth into first- he is very underdeveloped as a character. some more POV from him would be nice. I loved that they initially made first very reluctant to warm up to sprite, but I do feel like first developing feelings for him was rushed. I kinda just wish there was better writing for them bc I genuinely love their dynamic and chemistry. I hope they get the chance to act together again.
Iām in love with this lil nothing of a show. Sometimes you want to just turn your brain off for an hour and stare at cute boys. there is absolutely no plot and that is okay. All you need to know is that everyone is gay.
Do I care that not one person on the team has questioned why their star player sprite can no longer perform basic volleyball techniques? Not one bit. We are vibing.
I actually do like the dynamic of sprite being a super kind, silly boy and first being introverted, sensitive, and a little awkward. Itās cute how first warmed up to him this episode but I know disaster looms on the horizon for when he finds out heās not really zee š
So, I'm still at ep. 5 and what bothers me is how Ji Yong chose the criminals he was going to punish. Like, he…
dude my thoughts exactly. jiyong is literally just killing random people this reporter sends to him. regardless of their crimes how are you just going to pick and choose who deserves to die and repent and who doesn't. that's my only issue with this drama, no human being deserves to play god which is what the reporter lady, jiyong, and kangok are all doing but it feels like the writers want us to think jiyong and reporter lady arent psychopaths themselves
the rating for this one is really surprising. I went in with no real expectations and was highly impressed. the writing, acting, and cinematography are all on point. the mystery is captivating as well, I just binged the first 7 episodes and now im itching to watch the rest.
idk if this is going to end up a BL, but id honestly be fine if it didn't. Fiat is always so good in darker roles, its a shame he's so underrated in the industry. im sad we never got that one project with he and Na as leads. Poon is such a cutie as well, I remember him from Our days. id love to see him as a lead in a BL too, he has really good screen presence
billy has crazy sex appeal and the tonal shift from the cliche fall and trip beach kiss to the 'is that a dead body?' had me laugh out loud. I wasn't expecting the bits of comedy. overall a crazy good pilot this rating system is on crack. everyone say thank you saint suppapong!
The way I only started this bc of all the hate comments and I was feeling left out, but I actually enjoyed it š thereās been a lack of obnoxiously campy Thai blās lately I missed them
Iāve only had Mai for three hours but if anything happened to him I would kill everybody in the room and then myself
this show is soooo 2019 coded. it feels like it should air alongside my engineer or two moons. literally almost nothing happened this episode yet I turnt off my brain and sat through it with a smile on my face. love the shameless objectification of all the volleyball boys. they have one job and that job is beach. I cant tell if they're all going to be side couples as well? everything moves so slow but I guess we did get a hint of it today with jack and mike.
also yeah I get that sprite and first's relationship is moving at a snails pace, but I actually appreciate that its a little more realistic. first thinks sprite hates him and has a lot of bottled up anger because of it. I think in the next episode with the game we'll get some emotional progress with them. im enjoying this little nothing burger of a show. cant get my weekly fix of sam anywhere else
no bullshit but Ive seen dozens of bl's and I can count on one hand the amount of times one of them has resonated with me enough to bring tears to my eyes, but that final scene in episode 2 did it. everything was perfect, acting, script, cinematography, bgm I watched it like three times. I quit vice versa like 5 eps in but the difference a director makes is wild. the growth between mhok and day feels very natural and not rushed at all despite it only being the second episode.
also Sea is so cute and I feel kinda underrated for his acting, gmm needs to use him way more
I feel sorry for how objectified he is. He can't get any roles which present him as anything other than an idol…
I agree w you in a general sense, but not in this specific instance. EW is an established actor in the industry with influence, brand recognition, and money. He has the power to control what projects he accepts and which ones he denies.
I donāt think theyāre even objectifying him that much? Heās cast as the sexy male kdrama lead and thatās what weāre getting. Iām only on episode 3, but this seems like a very tame show I wouldnāt even call it pg 13 at this point
its because the drama isnt trying to portray Vigilante as a bad guy. They're trying to blend in the gray area…
Jiyong has killed two people. Granted you can argue they ādeservedā it but itās not his right to decide who lives or dies. He targets these criminals. Vigilantism is a short term solution. the law is not perfect but he can do a lot more good and save a lot more lives as a cop or a lawyer or a doctor. Batman never killed anyone. Batman is a critique on the law of course but also on mental illness, the rehabilitation of criminals, and the corruption of wealth.
I also wouldnāt say this show is realistic In any way, the depiction theyāre showing of the law is very one dimensional. If they showed him going after more corrupt judges, police, lawyers too it could add some depth as many times criminals are at the mercy of the law and corruption just like anyone else. Vigilantism just enables people to punish others based on their own perception of truth and morality. Of course weāre supposed to agree with jiyong, but then why is he justified but not Kang ok? Theyāre doing the same thing but weāre supposed to see one as the villian and one as the hero. Iām glad the included the character of kang ok bc it points out jiyongās hypocrisy, but idk if theyāll be able to flesh it out enough with this runtime.
Batman had people to keep him in check to make sure he doesnāt veer to far off the path of morality (Alfred, robin) but jiyong doesnāt have that. Heās just killing people as he sees fit. I do enjoy shows like this because it calls into question how we separate justice and retribution. Should the death penalty be allowed? Do we as people actually have the right to take away life? I just think this show is too short to really do these themes justice
I feel sorry for how objectified he is. He can't get any roles which present him as anything other than an idol…
āClearly wants fameā was probably a little harsh but I still think he could diversify his filmography a little more if he wanted to. Even if that means taking smaller roles versus the bigger ones. Heās not a struggling actor hurting for money. Obviously I get *why* heās taking the roles heās taking I just feel like heās getting typecast pretty badly and as a viewer and fan itās boring to see him in the same role over and over again
I want to see your list of sexy evil bisexuals.....hehehe
lmao these are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head
kang ok (this show) taecyeon's character in Vincenzo in woo from psychopath diary sun ah from devil judge dong wook in strangers from hell bc of course bo gum's character in hello monster
Yeah thats the thing, the plot has so much potential bc theres so much to delve into and it would be good to explore…
I definitely agree. insane pretty boy is like my favorite character archetype to see on screen why are they depriving me of that š I want to see him spiral!
I feel sorry for how objectified he is. He can't get any roles which present him as anything other than an idol…
i would say EW is about at the same level rowoon is no? even though they play similar characters I feel like rowoon has way more diversity in the roles he chooses. I enjoyed EW's role in island a lot. I've tried to watch many of his shows but I just cant stand the cold aloof pretty boy archetype and he's done it so many times š true beauty and Gangnam beauty are pretty much the same show (I did like true beauty a lot more though). romcoms are fine, I would just love to see him play a goofy character instead of the same ones he always does. you could interchange his character here with his character in true beauty or Gangnam beauty and nothing would change
