so I did a rewatch of Blossom and I am sooo excited for this. This director has such a fantastic eye for visuals.

I don't know if they're even done with post-production lol also this drama has a lot of snow scenes. it'd be good to air in winter

I feel like FL would be really good in a wuxia drama. the scene with her in the red outfit and hair let down was the coolest I've found her in this drama

they look too alike imo it'd be weird if they play romantic interests. as siblings, it'd be interesting though

episode 5 escape on the snake reminds me of when DFQC takes XLH away lol this drama seriously reminds me of LBFAD so much

this director really likes filming closeups of the actors face lol sometimes it's a bit uncomfortable to watch..

I've only watched 1 episode so far. Can't decide if I like it or not. I feel like this directing style isn't flattering on some of the actors. Xu Kai for example looks very.. wooden in his closeups. TXW also kind of .. doesn't blink? lol I feel like this director's filming style works better on actors that have very good eye acting (like Wang Xingyue) but here.. it's awkward

I was kind of meh about this until I watched the MV and omgggg I am getting major Cang Lan Jue (LBFAD) vibes from this?? but this looks even bigger budget. It's the whole cold/anti-hero ML and the happy go lucky FL vibes. LBFAD is my fav Xian Xia drama so I hope this is just as good

this will air at the end of the year at the earliest, but mostly likely will be at the beginning of 2026. It only finished filming in April. I'm hopeful the post-production will be swift because the director hasn't taken on any new projects so far so that means that he is focusing on editing this drama.

the good thing about this drama that separates it from all the other female general dramas is the opening 10 episodes or so is basically set in FL's small rural village and focused on the main CP. Looking at the reception to Zhou Ye's drama that is currently airing, it seems like audiences don't really buy these female general dramas because the actresses look too.. weak. At least we won't see complaints in the opening episodes lol

tbh this is like an idol drama. you kind of have to check your brain in a locker while watching it lol logically, there is absolutely NO WAY a girl with the build of Zhou Ye could get away with "being a man" unnoticed. But.. this is not a serious historical drama lol it's an idol historical drama that is about pretty people, pretty clothes etc.

ngl hope neither of these are true :x I hang around chinese forums a lot and these two have very... hard to deal with fans. after Chasing Jade, I kind of just want some peace lol I hope Linghe works with an actress with few fans like WCR or XRH

it's not one of her popular novels. it's a spin off of TLTSILY but not nearly as well known.

I feel like there's going to be a lot of .. discussions when this drama comes out because some of the plot lines I feel like will be a touchy subject

I honestly don't get why they bought the rights for the novel. the original novel isn't even that popular lol could've just written an original script.

I think the annual IQIYI conference is in September. I hope we'll get a more full trailer that is more plot focused.
