oh and I want to praise one thing: I really love how ML kept things professional between them at the hospital. When I heard about this drama, I was reallyyy worried that they'd blur the lines between doctor/patient relationship and that imo would be wrong. One scene that stood out to me was when FL had her period and ML was putting that wooden rod thingy on her stomach (lmao I can't describe this better) and they were in close proximity but it was completely professional and nothing sexualized about that scene. this was a good move imo.
Watching this drama was like eating a whole jar of honey straight, and now I feel like I wanna puke.Ling He: excellent…
imo the simplicity is the beauty of this drama. some people might not like it and find it boring. but I thought it was very grounded and realistic. life is just like this.
I binged 12 episodes yesterday, and it's surprisingly really fast paced? compared to other chinese modern dramas, this one doesn't really have any dramatic plot points. it's just about two people who meet and fall in love. I guess I'm too used to rich CEOs falling in love with a girl he shouldn't or some kind of evil family member trying to separate a loving couple plots lol
I think the main strength of this drama is the director. I usually don't like watching modern c-dramas because most of the time, the directing is really lacking. the cinematography and editing is also on point. Only criticism visually for me is that the filter is still a bit heavy but I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that cdramas will always have a heavy filter.
the ost seems to have only 3 songs? lol because it seems to be the same ones playing but I like those 3 songs! FL also has a really nice closet of clothes!
Overall, the drama really reminds me of another one I watched that starred Liu Yifei. Also not much plot but just very.. relaxing to watch?
doesn't look like there will be one. usually iqiyi drops fast track for the last 8 episodes but with the new schedule update, it looks like they're going to continue airing. I think they're trying to increase the streaming figures because this has underperformed quite badly
only those who understand mandarin will get it but the dialogue is SO awkward lmaoo I know the source novel was popular with elementary students so it's not really.. deep or anything but I'm like cringing in most scenes.
first time seeing a modern drama get so much hype on chinese social media. usually historical dramas are much more popular. this is gonna be HUGE. hope it lives up to expectations
feb 25? oh wow this competing with First Frost 🫣🫣🕊️🕊️
this drama is no competition for First Frost lol the difference in popularity of the source novels is way too big. First Frost is based on one of the most popular webnovels.
iqiyi didn’t mention it on their February upcoming drama weibo post https://weibo.com/1731986465/PcR0cx9dA
tbh it was always rumored that it'd be air dropped aka they'll broadcast it with no predetermined debut date. so I don't think it'd show up on their schedules.
can someone link me the broadcasting schedule? will there be any breaks? iqiyi seems to be airing their recent dramas continuously with no breaks in between. at least that was the case for Moonlight and Olive Tree
but omg if it is her, there's going to be another fandom fight over billing like with txw..
