What kinda bothers me is how socially awkward she is. Her playing in events with lots of people, how could she…
Nope. Her cousin MXD doesn’t allow her to have suitors who doesn’t pass his criteria. But LYY is a different case since he is still at his best even though he quit the professional world. He still managed to beat him in his own game.
Everybody who were in any way acquainted with LYY during his younger years really wants him to come back no matter which club he would like to join to. He has exceptional talent which will be a total waste if he’ll not pursue in this career. MXD has no ulterior motives towards LYY and will be very happy to see him back in the professional world. You don’t have to worry on that aspect.
So if I have to be very critical - I have to say the story is very slow burn in terms of plot development. I get…
LYY is a person with a lot of pride. He wants the best for his girl no matter how much it costs him. Anyway, he can just earn the money back by joining pool games with prize pot. It’s his character, I don’t think it’s a plot hole story wise.
After episode 12, I don’t think we weren’t given enough background of both our leads. LYY was once a part of a club and considered a snooker genius who is an orphan at an early age with a loving brother who was adopted by their aunt who is childless. He was kicked out by his master/mentor because of an incident 10years ago which involved an argument with referees during an official match. Because of that, he retired from billiards and went overseas to study while still practicing his craft every now and then so his skills didn’t rust. Our FL is from an affluent family who are in the pool circle - her uncle owns a club managed by her elder cousin MXD, her mom is a referee (not sure if drama presented this). She practically grew up surrounded by people who are into billiards and she was groomed by MXD as a nine ball prodigy. Because of cousin’s strict upbringing, nobody dared to pursue her and she also didn’t mind them at all. Not until LYY came into her life. She was extremely shy towards him because she doesn’t have any experience of being into a relationship. So, I don’t know what kind of backstory you need for our couple.
As for that illogical plot where they share a bed even though he was still sick, I also find it disturbing why it was like that although I enjoyed it as we were given some skinships.
For me, I didn’t find it boring nor slow paced. Maybe because I already read the novel and the drama surpassed my expectations. Like the chemistry is on 🔥 and it closely followed the events in the book. However, I welcome your opinion about the drama and fully respect it even if some of it didn’t align with my thoughts. It’s a free world after all. Hehe! ✌️
im sorry for nitpicking but there's two things that annoys me 😭 firstly i dont understand why fl brother ask…
A1: FL’s younger cousin (Meng Xiaotian) was very enthusiastic meeting Yiyang and Wu Wei the night before. In the novel, their situation prior arriving at Hel (this is supposedly New York in the book) is so terrible like their flights were delayed/cancelled and their hotel reservation also got cancelled as they don’t have the means to contact the hotel about the delays. All the other hotels are full and they have to wait for FL’s friend to get them into another hotel to stay in for the night. Otherwise, they will be frozen out in the storm. The newly formed friendship between people of same nationality in a foreign land during the time when they are so lost is I think the reason why cousin couldn’t help be overly enthusiastic. He wanted to share this enthusiasm to FL, thus, urging her to say “thank you “ to ML through a meal in the soonest possible time. Also, it’s his first time coming into the city and he also wanted to wander around, get familiarize with the place where he wanted to pursue his studies. It’s like shooting two birds with one stone.
A2: ML went back to Hel because his friend asked him a favor. Actually, ML and cousin didn’t plan to meetup in Helsin. They contacted him when they are already on their way there. It’s not like ML bailing out of their plans leaving them hanging in the middle.
A3: ML didn’t see them at the burger stand. That scene was more of a dramatic emphasis but they never got the chance to see each other at Helsin.
By the way, Helsin is about 7hours away from Hel that’s why ML rarely visit Hel, only once every month or two. But when he was struck with “love at first sight”, he was making all excuses to travel back and forth to Hel every week just to see FL, no matter how busy his sched is (he’s doing part time jobs apart from his masters).
Feel the same looking at the yoyo up & down comments 😅. I reckon I will still go ahead once all episodes are…
I like the series so far. Especially the leads’ chemistry. They’re sooo cute. My only little complaint is the plot transitions which are a little bit weird. I couldn’t fully describe it but the story is compelling at the moment. I am not annoyed yet with little sis and already looking forward to her own love story. Xie Binbin is so handsome! I also like his little smiles and smirks. I love how petty he was in the hospital scene. His sad eyes when he realized Li Nai forgot about him. Awww! The main CPs are worth watching for. But most of all, this drama makes you hungry with all the Chinese foods paraded in each episode. 😋
I like this drama so far because of ML and FL’s great chemistry. Thanks to Xie Binbin and Zhao Miaoyi’s superb talent. I feel the fluffs everytime they’re in the same room. I also like that there’s a lot of cooking and Chinese foods introduced in the drama. It’s so mouthwatering! Lastly, our ML and FL’s visuals are top-notch. I could stare at them whole day and won’t even get tired. 😍 But I have to agree the production seems low budget. The transition from one frame to the other is weird, somewhat amateurish.
JJ and LN net in orphanage?? is Jxy his elder brother?!! And her dad!? I'm confused of these main characters family…
1. JJ and LN met in the orphanage because JJ was dumped there after his parents’ death. JJ’s sister, JX, was brought back by their gramps into the family. 2. JXY is not their brother. He’s their cousin. JJ and JXY’s fathers are the brothers.
According to Douban, the scriptwriter has been changed. Take look at this :https://movie.douban.com/subject/35642460/celebrities
Yes. Agree. The trailers are promising and I love the BGM. Hopefully those songs will be included in the official soundtrack and will be available in Spotify.

Also Wu Wei’s internal monologue: What are you doing YG? No need to pretend, it’s so obvious what had just transpired between you two. I support!

Yeah! Been waiting for this drama since ages. Two more nights.
