Same!! I somehow like Ken more than Matteo but it feels weird cause I think the show has made it out for Matteo to be the hero and Ken to be a villain but I guess we will see if this holds true next week.

I had that thought too, but the show just has too much going on, that it's difficult to interpret what messages are trying to be told. Eg. What's the message with BDSM? Is Matteo meant to be a hero or is he a toxic man?

Also it's difficult to feel sorry for her specifically when she outed Shogun by showing private messages and was homophobic. Granted she was trying to keep her man who cheated on her and she faced other bullying in the episode but I can't completely feel sorry her. So not a great person to try and use for this message. With how the rest of the show has gone, it felt like the writers thought she was due for some bad karma and this was an ill attempt of creating that.

😂 This show is remind me of those American tv shows like Riverdale where they try to pass adults in their mid-late 20s as high schoolers but the reverse of that.

The differences I saw were:
1. Ken having sex with Fern for like 1.5min but couldn't get it off so he had to finish himself off while thinking of Shogun (another 0.5min).
2. A scene where Shogun's walking into school and everyone is staring at him. This was before he got into the classroom and Fern started talking smack ~1min
3. The actor Beam's (guy from Checking Out) character coming out scene to his basketball friends had a few lines that were clipped.
4. Scene where Fern asks if Primtha knows Ken was gay because they dated previously. She says yes, Fern is mad and asks why she didn't tell her she thought they were friends but Primtha is like "a friend? who dates her friend's ex?" This scene was before Primtha stole the role Fern wanted.

I was speechless about the colorism in this episode. This has to be the worst I've seen in any BL. Usually we get the offhand comment but this was a whole conversation.

Most of this episode was kind of ridiculous but in a funny way. The last quarter however, was honestly just fucking crazy that I need to lie down.

This series is so out of pocket!! Why did they need to show that extra walking full rear nudity to the shower 😂😂😂😂

I saw that they are asking for 1 million subscribers on youtube so that they can make a s2 so may be they will leave us hanging.

I'm sorry is Uncle Jim actually meant to be almost 40? I legit screamed when I read the subtitle.

This series is trashy but good trashy. Trashy series are my favourite.

Although there are so many little things that could have easily improved the story. Mainly they focus way too much on one couple each episode and because they can't progress the couple come to much without the other falling behind, the episode tends to be filled with so much fluff. It's unfortunate because I feel like this show has a lot of story especially with the three couples and the death mystery and it's not going to delve into it.

The cut version is 45mins while the uncut version is 1hr. I had a quick look and the uncut version seems to have dialogue and montages edited down rather then missing whole scenes.

I paid for membership to watch the uncut version and I would say it's not really value for money. The only interesting part is at the end, there are semi naughty scenes of Matteo pushing boundaries with Shogun again.

The thing I'm most shocked about is that it's on youtube!!! and it's yet to be taken down.

I'm speechless I don't get the story that's trying to be told. Most of the time this show is just being crude and outlandish for the sake of shock value. Although at the same time it's kind of entertaining, waiting to see the next crazy thing that will be shown.
I'm sad there was no burger king this episode. Their story is quite interesting and seems to have direction.

The scene at the end with his closet came out of no where. They're literally in highscool. You're telling me someone has a closet full of all this equipment at his age 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Korean bls always have really good ideas but it's almost impossible to deliver anything meaningful if you only produce eight 15min episodes.

I had semi-written off this show but ep 5 was freaking fantastic. I feel this episode better exposed the feelings they have for each other which I was struggling to get from previous episodes.

The part you quoted from me I was trying to say that the voiceover is unnecessary because you can communicate pride effectively enough through acting and it doesn't without the voiceover.
Don't get me wrong I loved that scene and I think that voiceover lead to the cute lines of Thi thinking Noey is handsome and Noey guessing his thoughts, but also don't think it felt seamless. Again that's my opinion.

Not sure what you mean about subtext? I did name shows produced by a single production company but I look at my watch list and top Thai, Korean, Taiwanese, and Japanese BLs all follow the "rule" of first person narration if they use voiceovers. Maybe it's a BL thing. I'll have to start paying attention to other series and seeing if I notice this use of voiceover.

Yeah it's definitely a subjective matter. However, I don't agree pride is a particularly difficult thing to convey through acting. Pride has quite a lot of external cues that are conveyed through facial expression, posture, and even dialogue. To me micro-expressions are fairly natural. We as humans tend to exhibit them and we tend to pick up on others. Television uses it heavily and it's not just seen in theatrical productions which use a style of overacting that originates from theatre being performed on the stage requiring actors to emote to the back row.

But you are right there is no one way to do it. I've also wondered if this writing style may be something particular to Thailand or maybe I'm not use to this type of style. I'm not entirely sure but I am certain I've barely seen it in a better produced BL dramas and there is a strong reason for that.
