Hahahha same as me! I got fooled too. But because i thought the ML’s performance was really good in White Cat Legend and Love in Pavilion, i only dropped it at ep 40 (watched it halfway). The FL’s character is truly most annoying of all.

The novel was very good minus the apalling intimate scenes. But since Blossom’s team is doing this adaptation, i hope they continue making miracles as they did with the awful Blossom novel. Can’t wait for next year’s release!

Ahh thank you for your insight. No wonder i cant reserve for it on iQIYI. I was hoping it’d be released this year. Guess we’ll have to wait a little bit more. A sequel after 9 years! Phewww. I thought Joy of Life was dwaddling enough for its next seasons, apparently this one trumps everything out there.

I read from the commemts below that HYTT’s scandal has already cleared? Cant wait for this sequel. Havent moved on from princess agent horrible cliffhanger, and reading the novel 5 times only alleviate it just a little wee bit. Though i truly hope this sequel wont deviate from the novel too much. I loved the novel to bits, especially the second part after the ice lake scene.

I recommend reading the novel, it’s one of the good ones out there that don’t bore you to death with draggy plot and sideplots despite the hundreds of chapters. Now i just hope the adaptation is as good as the novel, if its better then thats definitely a bonus. Im currently waiting for all episodes to be released on iqiyi before i can binge. I cant handle the suspense if i were to watch episode by episodes right now as they get released by the day. 😆

In the novel, the He family deliberately make her feel depressed after getting her blind so that she would voluntarily end her own life. But then xiao jue stepped in and motivated her to live better with her disability. So when she started to learn to live as a capable blind, practicing martial arts in secret even, the He family and her husband Xu decided to kill her instead. Thats why they drowned her.

For me he’s annoying in EB1 but rather bearable in EB2. Love his art of deception 😝

Theyre not enemies. ML just had suspicions of FL which made him somewhat wary of her, especially when her uncle belongs to a faction opposite ML’s in the court.

S2 has even less screentime of Di Lin than even Xiu batallion. 😆 watch for the story. If youre only looking for Di Lin then youre gonna be pretty disappointed.

I am guessing it’s gonna be another Ever Night/ Princess Agent kind of adaptation, where they only did it halfway through the novel 🥴

So glad Baichuan has more screentime here compared to EB 1. Love the interactions between her and ML. She’s like a younger sister who had to look out for this mischievous older brother who always gets into trouble and keep him in line. 🤣

And why th is the rating lower than S1? S2 is much more interesting and not as boring as S1.

Btw does anyone know where can I read the novel translation since theres no news of S3? I’ve looked for 2days but havent come up with anything at all. Even the link on shushengbar.net was dead and they removed it when i complained about it.

Same here. Dilin is an antihero who doesnt care about other’s life at all except for the three people he loved. Almost like a sociopathic serial killer. 😵‍💫🥴 he killed thousands of innocent palace guards just so xiu wont get on the chief’s bad side. Like seriously? How twisted is that? Real scary character.

Maybe because the original novel is about zichuan xiu’s coming from a different planet. Not sure about the adaptation cuz im in the middle of watching epi21. So far no hint of xiu’s origin yet. So no sci fi element at all so far. Oh well except for ep 1 with this one martial expert who seem to be able to stop time. But that’s just about it. That scene lasted about 5min maybe.

Oh btw Zichuan Xiu and Zichuan Ning isnt related by blood. Zichuan Xiu was adopted by Ning’s father and they grew up together.

And i think she’s got more screen time than Si Yilin. Although she’s only support character i’ve always rooted for her. She’s like a big sister who’s always trying to keep this rascal younger brother Xiu from getting into trouble all the time. 😂
