Is this a pure romance drama or is it action packed too? I like something similar to A Journey to Love or The Long Ballad which main theme isnt really romance. If this is romance then im gonna skip it.

Lol it’s really funny to see how hard you try to justify the ridiculous arrow shooting scene. Yeah yeah so she had so much time training archery in between training musical instruments, carrying out schemes for saving the ye family and later magistrate xue, solving citizen’s hunger on the way back to the capital, dodging schemes of Princess Royal and ex husb, fighting off rebels, yeaaah im pretty sure she got enough time fitting in archery between those. So you can keep on replying to every comment here trying to justify every ridiculous scene the show put on like the true die hard fan that you are. I am off to another show now. Already wasted too much time here. You may carry on. Buh-bye.

What facts when u just assume she has archery training? fact that u plucked out of thin air isit? This show has other ridiculous parts which baffles other people too so nope, its not fact. Thats just your own assumption.

Havent watched this one (have no intention to) but yeah, i thought he died at the end of ep40. How come they come up with this one? Dont tell me the ending at the battle he miraculously managed to flee the battleground when he was clearly the last man standing? Like how they come up with that ridiculous scene of Jiang Li shooting the arrow accurately hitting the hand holding the military token at such distance with no training whatsoever but that one lesson with xiao heng months ago which she only shot once with xiao heng guiding her arms? 😂 that scene was so ridiculous i thought i was watching a scene from tamil movie

Yea i think i will still need to reread the last part of the novel before s3 airs. Last i read was before i watched s1 which was in 2020 i think. Thank god the last part has little of his playboy interaction with his women. I just need to tread around his encounter with Northern Qi emperor and skip it.

I agree he shouldve been more ruthless like the novel fan xian than complete straight arrow righteous like the show prtrays. Cuz no righteous man can survive in the dirty imperial politic scene like he did in the show. The novel fanxian is more realistic for that particular era of course, right down to having women at his knees everywhere he goes and he actually enjoys it. I wouldnt have minded rereading the whole book had it not for his playboy side. I just cant handle that, especially when he was with the northern Qi ‘emperor’. That totally disgusts me.

Cant wait for season 3 where all showdowns gonna roll out.

Im just so glad the screenwriter decided to smooth out FanXian into a righteous and upright gentleman. Cuz the novel fanxian is ruthless and a complete axxhole of a playboy. I hate the playboy side of him. Poor novel wan er. I think the book is one of the best ones ive read out there, i just find novel Fanxian to be very obnoxious and a complete cheater.

if u stop at Ep 38 then it’d be a happy ending for them. They both died in the war with beipan at ep 40.

I seriously suggest u to Watch it but stop at ep 38. This is truly a masterpiece and couldve been my all time fave had it not for the unnecessary tragic ending. I cant figure out why the writer decided to drag the episode just to conclude the massacre of characters with the leads’s. Seriously 38 wouldve been a perfect happy ending. Both leads are back at Wu capital, saved the new emperor and solved the palace conflict, earned recognition by the new emperor, An emperor got what he deserved and That Brat held ultimate power in An. We dont need to know what happens during the war. Sheesh. So yeah, go watch it but go no further than 38 ok. Thank me later. 😉

Lao Ning (its what the rest of the guys call him 😅) realised he didnt want to lose Ruyi at Ep 11 when she sustained serious injury after being attacked by Qian zhao Sun lang and Yu Shisan. She was about to die in the forest when he came to her rescue despite Qian Zhao and Sun Lang’s protests.

Well, they wouldnt have been together in Ep 12 if not for Ruyi returning to the entourage even she almost died at their hands. Ning did not expect her to return, but because she did return for him, they got finally got together. I love ep 10-12 to bits!!

I think Wu Empress has an interesting backstory. The third prince became handicapped because he saved her from drowning, she seemed to have a love relationship with the second prince but ended up marrying the first prince and became the empress.

In a palace love rivalry genre, her story would definitely sell. 😇 Prince of Danyang (second prince) looked like an upright and righteous man and is perfect for the circumstantial ascend to the throne. I liked this character very much, especially so when his name was cleared in the end.

Sad or happy ending? I cant handle anymore sad endings after getting heartbroken twice by AJtL. Yeah rewatched it already and still cried the second time at their deaths 😢
