What I love most about this drama are the dialogue-heavy scenes that boast some of the most moving dialogues I've…
I also appreciate it being character driven without only relying on a heavy plot. Difference is, I find the mains most interesting. Specially BJ and ZYZ. Episode 13 was the first time I was starting to feel bored. That side story felt dragged.
I just remembered in the trailer there was a scene with ZYZ wearing this exact robe (black with golden patterns), sitting on the stairs, looking lost and devastated. The man was JUST barely getting out of his suicidal phase. I doubt he can ever come back from another "incident".
Warning: this is lowkey a big spoiler so if you don't like big spoilers, don't read big spoilers. Otherwise you'd…
Thank you for the warning. I believe you deserve better than me hating you for spoiling me with big spoilers here, so I'll avoid reading the rest of your comment. But genuine question: should I also avoid looking too closely at the main poster? (I get spoiled easily)
How the opinions differ! After I saw the trailer randomly on youtube, I didn't recognize HMH and thought the guy (who was later gonna be introduced as Li Lun) looked interesting. Some weeks later when I realized who the leading actor is, I was disappointed (Dashing Youth's fault). Still didn't know Li Lun's gonna be a supporting character, so started watching anyway. Half an episode in, changed my mind completely. I was so mesmerized I forgot everything. And genuinely only remembered how I first got interested into this drama after reading your comment.
(Of course I'm still interested in Li Lun's performance and back story. I just find it fun how our views were so opposite.)
A knowledgeable human who sympathizes with demons, a powerful demon who cares about humans. Isn't that the perfect duo to guard both worlds? Along with a legendary swordsman, a flawless shooter, a godly chef and a prodigy physician. That's a recipe for multiple interesting seasons! (my last attempt at convincing the creators to keep the team alive)
It's ok not to elaborate, but man, since our definition of boring is so different, at least kindly rate some dramas in your list, so I can be extra cautious about trying them later🥲
I need a team of only Bai Jiu and Yuan Zhou having to survive a very scary/dangerous situation. I just need it. Don't tell me the writer(s) never realized how potentially hilarious that could be.
Exactly how I feel about this. And while I didn't expect Langya to be a protagonist for this (I did expect it…
Fair enough. Although TBOY wasn't devoid of romance. Out of the 4 or 5 couples, 3 were quite interesting and well received afaik. But it was just a lovely touch of romance. The only couple who was really criticized was the main couple, which had the most screentime.
Let's hope they'll get their vision back for Dark River. Though I'm not keeping high hopes like I did for this one.

It's not just you. There's a lot of potential in BOTY world, specially because of interesting characters and their connections. Yet imo they could still make it work with BDJ's story, if only they'd follow the example of TBOY, focusing more on the characters and less on the romance. But someone somewhere decided against the first season's successful formula.
This drama has all fine men, from villains to heroes im here for a buffet. But the girl main lead sometimes irritates…
Move on from his fam's murder? That's not gonna be easy. But I do find it weird that he sympathized with Fei, yet after knowing about ZYZ's case he just said "killing is still killing".
