You call verbally disagreeing with her decision of putting her life in grave danger, overprotective??
I agree, but for that, BS shouldn't have agreed and given a promise outright. She could've stayed hidden or should've at least answered "I'll think about it", so that they could work on a plan.
yaaaass you said FACTS โจ๏ธ gurlie is such a great character ๐ i thought at first when she threatened Bai…
Totally she's ๐ From that "I'll return it to you" conversation I suspected they'd either become enemies or besties. But also from that conversation I suspected she'd become great. I was only worried the writer wouldn't care enough to keep her consistent, since she's a supporting character.
Tian Huo's one of the best characters I've seen so far. She's strict and logical, often the voice of reason, yet stays true to herself and her emotions. Atp I'm convinced she's capable of gracefully handling anything that comes her way.
Rant warning, because I need to get this off my chest. I'll defo regret it later so fans of 2nd couple, plz don't mind me.
I've never cried this hard for a character (after a certain nine headed demon), then they decided to switch to a semi- steamy scene of the semi-villain couple sitting beside a campfire, expecting the emotional mess that was me to what? enjoy it? No thank you! The most innocent character of this story just died partially to fix these two's mess, what made the director think I'll appreciate this placing?

All of the situations you mentioned were either highly doubtful or were things they're specifically trying to avoid, like getting the next contemplation before the weak water stone. For these possibilities, she was gonna just walk into a trap, with no plan whatsoever.
And listen to yourself: "she makes decisions and goes solo. You be quick and come up with a plan to save her."

Every single time?! We haven't been watching the same show. Yours has 80+ episodes. The reason you see him concerned for her a lot is because they get into life threatening situations a lot. And the consequences you speak of, are shared.
You want FL to enjoy a loving relationship but don't want her to be bothered by her partner's concern for her safety. Don't wanna be rude, but that's selfish. And ofc expecting him to pretend is not healthy.
Yes, someone objecting to your decision or being worried for you can be bothersome. It looks much easier if your partner agrees with your every decision, even if it's putting yourself in grave danger. But that's not gonna happen in a relationship with a sentient being of flesh and blood who actually cares about you.

Really? Those I mentioned were merely examples to show you the stone's protection isn't predictable. She was walking into a trap, he knew it, she knew it. Of course he was gonna disagree. He didn't imprison her, he simply voiced out his concerns. In the end, as in minutes later, he accepted her decision.
There's a balance between caring and respect. Unless you want a robot as ML to just smile and nod at FL when she decides to jump off a building.

Tell that to her burned hands and cut wrist. It's also established that the stone can't protect her against divine objects or illusions. Not to mention being kidnapped, tortured and kept till her body gives in. Will the stone even care if she loses an eye or a leg? He's being normal.

You're mistaking partner for bodyguard.
