You're so right about CM. She's being so ungrateful! She owes the leads a lot and this is how she repays them. Bai Shuo was so understanding towards her. I genuinely thought Fan Yue was being a bit cruel for not agreeing to help her after she begged for it. Only to be proven naive just minute's later lol
But CM's reasoning makes much more sense than Tian Huo's fam. She's not trusting some shady promise from a demon king to commit atrocities. She planned everything herself. Which is one of the reasons why I'm enjoying this arc.

Gotta admit I always have to resist skipping Lanling sect's parts. They talk and talk and talk and talk, and it never amounts to anything. Both the other eternal sects have much more impact. Purple potato spirit alone was twice as interesting as the entire Lanling Sect
I loved that Bai Shuo didn't even bother to argue with Chong Zhao anymore about something as basic and obvious as free will. It's like she decided to protect her brain cells and move on.
