TSL definitely raised the bar for me in terms of ML and the relationship bonds. I feel like we won't get another…
I'm actually in the middle of watching LBFAD and as much as I like it, I can't help but compare DFQC and XLH's relationship to Youqin and Yetan because of course, I had the unusual experience of watching TSL before LBFAD. I love the bad boy trope, don't get me wrong, and I can even excuse a lot of toxicity for the sake of creativity but man, is that relationship toxic. I have this running list in my head of all the massively toxic things that keep happening between that couple. It's very reminiscent of Meteor Garden in many ways. I think what I loved about Youqin and Yetan is that it proved that you don't need to have heaps of toxicity and "I protect her by hurting her" melodrama for a romance to be enjoyable and swoon-worthy.
I just started another CXX drama, “Truth.” The first case is disturbing. But I’m liking it. Love that CXX…
I should probably watch Truth...especially if he used his real voice. Getting used to Tan Xuanlin's voice in FIL took some effort but eventually the chemistry won me over and I got used to it. It helped that his character is basically charisma on legs.
actually, Peng Xiaoran is the one doing the over-acting. at least she's not underacting but right now, yeah, she's…
Sadly, I have to agree. As much as I like her, the over-acting is like nails on a chalkboard for me. I don't blame her, this is definitely on the director.
Few were saying Love and Redemption is better than The Starry Love. I tried to watch Love and Redemption 5 attempts…
I started L&R and put it on hold after two episodes. I can already tell just how much Cheng Yi carries the drama...I plan to continue but every time I think of picking it back up I groan because I just KNOW it won't be an easy ride for me.
Starry Love is one of the top Xianxias imo. I'll copy and paste a comment I made about L&R a while ago.If you…
"If you enjoy pointless angst and 90's power ranger music coming on every time the female lead uses her powers, then Love and Redemption is for you!" I'm on the floor xD
Since you'll be checking out their old dramas, I really recommend the Director's Cut of Goodbye My Princess (for…
Just a FYI, there's a short official mini series epilogue released for GMP that contains a happy ending. It's only 4 short episodes but they more than make up for the SE. You can find it on Youtube. It's about their third life which is mentioned in GMP itself during their "second life".
I really really wanted to like this but after struggling for 6 episodes I think I'm going to have to bow out. It's a complete disconnect for me. I watched for PXR but something about her acting and the internal logic of this drama feels off. I might pick it back up if the reviews are glowing after it's done airing.
