Omg I cried when they announced Xia Xiao Lan’s national exam score. SO PROUD!

For LOTFG, I had some issues with the logic sometimes. I really loved the script, as well as Zhou Ye and Cheng Lei’s chemistry though! I agree with you. Her performance in this drama definitely improved. Her acting seems more natural as well. I am loving this drama so far.

The first time I saw her was as He Yan in Legend of the Female General and I loved it. The drama is my favorite drama and she also made me a fan of hers. The second drama I watched of hers is Everyone Loves Me and it was alright though I wasn’t really a fan of that drama. I will definitely check out the movie you mentioned. Zhou Ye always appears to be such an icon to me hahaah. Her performance in this drama is particularly impressive to me the fact that she actually embodied the character of Xia Xiao Lan, down to her looks according to the time. I’d love to see more of her!

Five episodes in and I am loving this drama! This drama makes me so full. I actually like Xia Xiao Lan. I love how as a modern girl in the 80s, she is both book smart and street smart. It was so satisfying seeing her getting even with her dad’s family side.

Yeaa! I appreciate that detail. Not to mention, they also made her skin look tan and dull which suits the setting of the drama as she’s rebuilding her life.

Watching episode 1, I’m surprised by Zhou Ye’s acting. I also love how they did her looks. She’s not afraid to “look ugly.” Despite so, she still looks pretty though. The introduction felt alright but the latter part was entertaining! I’m surprised there’s 36 episodes. Looking forward to watching more episodes, ongoing.

No problem! Honestly, just watch! The conflicts don’t last long except for Xie Zheng hiding his identity. But even that misunderstanding got resolved quickly. The story and conflicts didn’t exhaust me.

Second lead is a bit confusing but I’m guessing Qi Min or Li Huai An. Qi Min maybe. But Qi Min has his own girl. Anyways, jealous scenes? YES. You have to watch.

I just saw Xie Wu’s pictures with Chang Ning and it’s so cuteee!! Xie Wu I hope you survive till the end!

Me too! I appreciate the simplicity and depth of that scene. No over the top lighting and visual effects. Just the glow of the nigh and them.. I’m obsessed!!

That sparring scene was so beautiful and romantic. It defines their dynamic as a power couple!
