It's a pity for the loveable bunch of cop in the island. If only the crime detection part is better written and if only they don't insert those redundant love lines this could've been a better drama than the mess it is now. Indeed too much for 40 episodes. I'm skipping lots of scenes now and only focus the main couple story. 25-27 barely have minutes of them. Fortunately binge watched 28-30 and there are some sweet moments but still so slow development for the main. What shabby script is this.
They should've cut those 2 boring supporting actresses life story but too bad this drama is trying to make another 4 women inspirational drama. The FL2 and ML2 storyline had good potential at first but they're also stuck and going nowhere now.

Which main plot? 4 women friendship or WY x HXY line? lol. I think at times need to remind myself that this drama main plot is actually about the life of 4 women in their career and love. Somehow the show's marketing tends to make the main theme is about the main couple which is actually not, maybe because only the ML and FL are recognizable.
Up to ep 24 Sophie and QJY line indeed become boring now. I find QJY and LYD marriage troubles increasingly annoying too and take too much screentime.
14 episodes in personally still enjoy this lighthearted drama haha. Mostly love the hilarious main couple, rich girl vs assistant second couple, the girls' friendship, and the issues they faced at work. Although some parts are too dependent on fate and coincidences as always but don't really mind it. The script and plot is not great but it's a comfortable and cute urban life drama.
Hate that it's on Mango, their sub quality is sad.
Lol some people are still criticizing her in LYL now. They say she is exaggerated but IMO she's natural and funny that it makes me wonder if she is this cute and lively in real life. I guess it's on the eyes of the beholder and personal preferences, but I like what I'm seeing of Elvira now.

Personally I think any of the platforms are cautious to air any BL dramas at this moment to avoid heat from gov and general public. Maybe they are waiting until clear regulations come out or until the heat on BL products cool down. I don't think political war background is the issue, but more about the source novel is tagged as BL despite having little BL elements. A League of Gentleman source novel is not tagged as BL, that's why it passed the review fast.

I hope this drama can be aired too. At this moment no one knows how strict the regulations on 'drama adapted from bl novels' will be. As far as I understood, the original work isn't too explicit and the drama can easily edit the emotional parts to look like brotherhood/normal bromance/comrades in war. They can market this drama as political war with friendship ^^
However the worrying part is the original source novel is indeed bl. Well just hope for the best. I will be a shame if such an intriguing storyline with beautiful casts cannot see the light.
If you love LJ high class gentleman aura don't bother lol. From the episodes I watched this He Xiya look the same with LJ but in their persona LJ is much more dreamy 2nd gen rich CEO type - in and out of work. I feel He Xiya not as rich and high class as LJ, at work he is a CEO but at home whenever he encounters Wu You or her parents he's a poor awkward guy like a deer trapped in headlights.

I can sum up this drama as a funny easygoing life drama. Nothing too WOW or earth shattering though, but CWJ is soo pretty and lively. In LYL Wu You interactions with He Xiya are so cute and hilarious, and her parents a bit exaggerated but hilarious too. Her friendship with the three other girlfriends and workplace situation is nice too, so far i don't grit my teeth yet, but I'm a bit sad that her friendship with Lu Man will obviously be shattered later.
