It literally is about them coming out to the people they love and getting married--in these times where Japan still doesn't recognize same-sex marriages, this movie basically said "fuck that" and they got married. They choose each other over society's pressures and showed that their lives and their happiness matter. So, I definitely think this was a very important and timely movie.

Do not let the comments here stop you. If you enjoyed the drama and were okay with the fact that it didn't show an explicit lip-to-lip kiss or any really sexual aspects, the movie will be enjoyable for you too. It has the same tone as the drama and focuses on their growth, their communication, and their expressions. Also, there's plenty of domesticity. It very much is a necessary addition to their story because (spoilers in the comment):

Unfortunately, Tencent has somehow found and blocked the YouTube videos that was being subbed by that channel. So, who knows when we'll get more subbed episodes since I think all the other sites were just taking the eps from this channel. Sigh. Let me know if this drama gets subbed past episode 8.

Weirdly, after watching Xing Fei in this--it was my first time watching a drama of hers--and now I can't watch Xing Fei in another dramas that are happy or light-hearted, lol. She did great as a tragic character here!

Just FYI: watch the episodes on WeTV as it has way better subs. However, for some reason, the last like 4-5 episodes have a bit of weird subbing. It's only like 85% accurate.

WeTV/Tencent is A LOT better than Mango, so definitely watch it on there. However, sadly, even the last like 5 episodes on WeTV didn't have perfect subs. It was only like 85% accurate.

Only on episode 2 so I'll keep giving it a chance, but it's kind of boring? Like I remember the original version being a lot more wacky and entertaining. I get that they toned down the wackiness but maybe that's what made it bearable to watch? It's just kind of boring right now. Going to keep watching it for Xing Fei.

Obsessed with this drama actually and really enjoyed the main leads. I hope they get more projects in the future, especially one together! They had great chemistry.

Still waiting for proper subs for this drama so I can actually enjoy it on a re-watch. I watched this with the bad mgtv subs and it ruined so much of my experience. I know this drama has decent acting and great directing, but it's hard to enjoy when I have no idea what they're saying. Sigh. If someone ever picks this drama up and give it proper subs, please let me know. I'd love to watch this drama again.

Ohhhhh, this looks like it'll be fun! I love zheng yecheng a lot and I adore xin yunlai from Dreaming Back to the Qing Dynasty. Looks like they'll have great chemistry!!
