Episode 6 was really something, lol. By the way, I heard that originally there were two different actors casted for the main roles, but because of the pandemic, their schedules and other things could no longer fit into the filming of this drama. I'm curious about who they were? I'm glad it's Zhang Zhehan and Gong Jun as I adore both of them from their past dramas, but I'm curious!
Ugh, it sucks so much that MGTV's terrible subs is ruining people's experiences with this wonderful drama. :( I wish a subber could pick this up and give it the proper subs it deserves, sigh.
Zheng Yecheng and Hu Yixuan was a power couple I didn't expect at all. They just had that perfect chemistry together and made this show even better. If you're new to the show, if anything, watch it for them. They are incredible together. <3
She has such a baby face, I thought she was only like 22! Love her in Under the Power and currently love her in The Sword and the Brocade. Wishing her all the best in her future projects <3
I'm only around episode 15/16? the episode where Feitan died and I'm kind of upset. :/ I really like this drama so far but I don't know, Feitan's death hurts so much. I loved her character. sigh.
Okay, I get why some viewers are upset. The trailer didn't really indicate his wife/concubines situation and many viewers prefer the storyline where the ML will only have the FL as his one and only wife and true love. But that storyline is typically reserved for the "idol" period dramas where historical accuracies doesn't matter since the main storyline is romance and comedy and is more lighthearted.
In this drama, it leans toward more historical accuracy of customs and focuses on the familial politics and intricate schemes alongside the romance. They have an age gap. He has concubines and children. It's a little offputting at first if you're not used to it but considering that she's supposed to be young and he is supposed to be older, it makes sense that he already has two kids. Also, a lot of viewers get upset about the concubines situation as if he loves them but the fact is that he doesn't. If you've watched even the first couple of episodes, you can see that the ML is filial and a righteous person, but isn't very warm; he treats his wife/concubines at a respectful distance and do care about them to some degree--as they are his family now--but none of them really has his heart. This is where the FL comes in and he learns to open his heart. That's the kind of romance it'll be. If that's not what you want, then this drama isn't for you.
I really like how well the disguise is in this drama. He has a goatee, scars, messy hair, and his skin is darker but looks natural. The last time I watched a drama with a main character going in disguise, the character just looked like they had a bad tan. Basically, the makeup department in Word of Honor deserves props.
Enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would. Love Seven as always and appreciate her quick wits. Also, this show's cinematography and costumes are really beautiful.
The dubbed voice for the main ML, where have I heard of it before? What other characters from other shows have this voice dubbed? It's bugging me so much. It's a great voice, but I'm just trying to place it haha.
They really made the 2nd guy ugly by having him have that balding hairstyle lmao. I just read the summary of the literature and wow, what a wild story. I don't think if I'll watch it since it'll be a tragedy, but a very wild story for sure.
Can someone let me know if the Yin siblings are really blood siblings or perhaps just clan siblings? I'm getting a romantic vibe from the brother to the sister. I get being protective of your sister, but he seems super extra protective and even jealous that I'm not sure anymore. Everything so far seems to indicate that they are blood siblings--since they have the same last name and they talk about the parents and stuff. So, I assume they are blood siblings?
;asdlkfja why is no one mentioning that it gets better after episode 7? lmao. It took me months to get back to this drama after I paused after episode 4. Finally to give this a try again since I was looking for something to watch and now I'm on episode 12, lol. I like it a lot! But definitely took a moment for it to grow on me.
You know, I've never cared for couples with a "height difference" before but I don't know why I'm so soft for Linglong & Yuan Yi's height difference. He's literally a head taller than her lol
Don't watch a lot of modern cdramas, but considering this one since it is pretty highly rated. But...41 episodes??? 41????? Someone let me know, please, if it's really worth all that episodes (without spoilers).
romcom historical fantasy with two leads that I haven't seen before? Count me in! I'm always down for some cute romcom. Looking forward to this <3 <3 <3
I really like the cast for this show, but especially the actors for Linglong and Yuan Yi! I haven't seen their previous dramas, so it's very refreshing to see them as young main leads in this epic fantasy drama. They look really good together and have very good chemistry. :')
