hey, know you are so keen on this novel....sorry to hear that it's not giving you the feel goods. I think they…
yeah - i watched til 5. the weird editing and camera angles stand out like "proverbials", and the CGI is OTT. Maybe they worried about censorship with the human trafficking bit so cut it? Covered a lot very fast, not sure why they have messed around with bits and add in and chopped out - you know what i mean....but....have decided that this is a drama and the novel is the novel so....
if you're suffering after TtEotM this really is balm for your soul. Totally cute leads, fast pace, some funny (silly but enjoyable) CGI, and a devilish Riley Wang has shown up....if there is an odd note, it's the weird synth background music...but that rock guitar xianxia band aced it! :D
am watching - skipping ahead, pausing, rewinding, going back, jumping ahead. No plans to stop.
nope because not only skipping and pausing....also rewinding, going back etc....you're overthinking it (and you must have not read my definition of boring).
I was going to watch this as soon as i was done with episode 40 of TTEOTMBUT NOW,I really don't think i can watch…
ok - in the novel is a defo happy ending. the trailers have them appearing in white there is a lot lot lot more cutesy humour and comedy to this doesn't square with the TtEotM vibe.... think you will be safe (TSL was not sooooo horrendous a BE...more like a HE in waiting).
Puan Yan and a xian cultivator Nine tailed princess and the scholar (who is the reincarnation of Su Ying's war general) Xiange and Feng The 9 tail fox king and his dead queen (but not sure if all in drama)
Yan Hui has powers, however her fight with the snake demon nullifies for a period, which is what allows the human traffickers to sell her to Grandma Xiao for A'Fu to marry. After they enter the cave, her powers are returned.
Definitely agree with the latter part. But the ending???? NO IT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER
feelz... <3. this is just my interpretation. for me, the ending worked. a BS ending :) as in BitterSweet :D. she also said - let's end this. i 'm not a fan of the novel so maybe that's why the drama version is more appealing? LYX is out of this world, truly an amazing performance. perhaps that integrity / sincerity in his acting is why the ending seems to make sense.

nope - i think he is defo not coming back. that was the scale he used to protect her, she and daughter in human realm looking at the river, she is remembering the tales, and keeping the tales alive as he asked.
in the current incarnation, he is a scholar (in the novel, ok) and when Su Ying betrayed Tian Yao, the scholar…
Su Ying betrays Tian Yao. Su Ying was in love with a war general and betrayed Tian Yiao to save teh war general. The war general reincarnates as a scholar. Su Ying is in love now with the scholar The scholar is not in love with Su Ying, but with a demon girl (who Su Ying kills. The scholar asks Tian Yiao to kill him (it's kinda murder suicide), at the end, to get away from Su Ying.
hmmm....so they've taken key scenes from novel and interspersed with what looks like RPG type (Witcher/GoT flavour but xianxia style) scenes for entertainment value? Still developing the romance, but maybe trying to creating more rationale for the xian vs demon aspect?
With Cang Lan Jue there was a lot of deviation from the novel, and the overall story arc was great for motivation and plot within plot in the drama. Given they had novelist on board, hoping they can replicate that sort of consistency for BftB.
actually it's a HE, but not a traditional HE. It's not a "they walk off into the sunset HE" and it's not an open HE as in "he's reborn or will be reborn" HE. Actually, the final shot is of him radiating purity, and no sign that he will reincarnate, even though they had the clam symbolism at the Mohe River and scene with wife and daughter. The HE is because actually he learned to love, not just her, but the whole world, he'd been born and designed to destroy, made to suffer to destroy, and despite that, he still acted out of love. So it's an HE for the world, xian, demons, humans all happily co-existing, his wife and daughter telling tales about the past....it was a beautiful finale. But that's probably not a common reaction ;)
rotfl - with me it's the noodle soup :D
nah, we're good....no reason for -ve vibes to start in threadz. :)
