I have just discovered Chen Kun.Watching The Rise of the Phoenixes.Will mark this too.
I mean.. he's obviously amazing in Rise of the Phoenixes.. but his range of acting in this one... truly prob one of the best Chinese actors ever imho!!

halfway through and REALLY want to love it... I kind of only love the IDEA of it, mainly because the FL is just not doing it for me :-( The chemistry between ML/FL is missing for me too!

The Erlang character so far for me leaves a lot to be desired... the guy is just kind of a poker-faced asshole. I'm only a few episodes in so far, but, he comes off this way and for no apparent reason... just his personality? ugh! At least (so far) other characters you can kind of see WHY they act the way they do. Erlang (other than being pressured to marry like everyone else)... I don't see a "reason" for his behavior/arrogance.

I really loved this! GREAT if you love a good politically-fueled drama with great acting, decent script, and some realistic/mature romance splashed in there. However... the end left an opening for an obvious Season 2. I wonder if one is planned or they just wanted to leave themselves an opening to consider one? hmmm

I love her.. but I think it's just me, to be honest.. her face has an adorable child-like look to me, so I think I can't see her as young adult/romantic interest for the ML.. IDK.. lol :)

She is playing 15 years old in this drama
it's just a personal thing.. I don't mind playing young/being young.. but she just comes across as child-like instead of a teenager/young adult to me. Like I said.. she's lovely and I like her in general, but I'm just personally not feeling it .. may change my mind though LOL still enjoying the drama! :)

while I adore the FL... I am not feeling it with her paired with the ML romantically... I thought by this point besides her magic evolving more maturely.. that her character would as well.. but she still acts/talks/looks like a 12-14yo and it's off-putting for me this far into the drama :(
