ungh. & that my friends is how you put a final nail in a drama coffin. Besides Han Derang & his Mother... do we care at ALL about any of these other characters or how they'll end up at this point??? I had SUCH high hopes after the first few episodes, but that died slowly after each and every episode so far aired. Now seeing 39&40 raw... nope. Before ep38-40 I didn't find MingYi QUITE as despicable as other viewers.... but now? UGH. No ending is going to make me happy at this point, tbh. ●﹏●

So is Yan Yan gonna end up having the 6 kids with the emperor or you think they'll alter the story and just have…
hoping they'll alter it, but no idea for sure. *bites nails*

Title The Legend of Xiao Chuo Spoiler
I swear. Just watched ep 30 & she really don't give a shiz & question the king's stupid "advise" lol. She literally…
She called him "shameless" and I nearly died. She is FIERCE! lol. She stole my heart back when she decided to stay up & drink a few along with her son to drown out his heartache. LOVE.

IKR. That's also what I highlighted in my previous comment. The moment of their meeting after their temporary…
absolutely this. Her reactions and stone facedness is definitely "off" in some of these scenes where emotions/shock would have been running high. If the director wanted her to portray "I've locked all my emotions up because I have to" then I get it... but it has hurt us as viewers from relating to her, because no one wants to be on #TeamCold-Ass-B*tch ... you know?

& OMG I'm a huuuuge fan The Story of Yanxi Palace. SUCH a fabulous drama that does this trope and tons of other things justice! <3

YES. I think the transition was odd. YanYan went from "I'm here but don't expect anything else from me" to a super frigid "in the game now" & not caring how De Rang or anyone else feels... in one big swoop and it leaves a bitter taste in viewers' mouths. You can still see De Rang struggling with the new relationship/friendship parameters... but YanYan is acting like she really is over it and doesn't GAF about past feelings/love anymore. Yikes.
On The Legend of Xiao Chuo Nov 16, 2020
Not gonna lie... the way YanYan was the one to initiate physical/caring contact with MingYi in front of De Rang in EP 27 felt all kinds of ungrateful and heartless. Maybe yanyan & mingyi deserve each other? -_- While I normally actually enjoy this bittersweet romance trope, the FL in these kinds of shows don't usually act like this & I'm finding it more & more distracting/disappointing. They are making yanyan out to be completely heartless & cold rather than strong/growing up because of circumstances. There's a world of difference between the two. That also happens to be the difference between having a FL we LOVE or a FL we LOATHE. tsk tsk.

I’m glad someone else said it. From the beginning, I didn’t understand An’s deadly animosity toward his…
Very much ALL of what you said. His hate was soooo weird and misplaced. There was no way he would have though it would have been done on purpose. & he was (somehow) the one person in the drama who could get ALL the info/secret intel first, so he would have easily known that. I thought his hate may have stemmed from the fact that he felt the Emperor may have covered up the incident to protect his son? But even that should have had him hate his brother & not his nephew. So strange.

Also, his love for the FL was obsessive and odd. He hurt her and used her SO bad throughout the show. His character was a mess! Actually, now that I think about it, a LOT of the characters in this show were quite over-the-top and maybe that's why they were not very relatable?

Don't get me started on the FL's so-called love. (so wishy washy) & the weird final episode where everything that needed to be resolved either 1. didn't get resolved, or #2 just got some ridiculous semi-sticky bandaid slapped on it to stop the hemorrhaging of plot threads. Lightning? Really???

There were some great actors in this show though and had all the pieces there to make good drama, but it just... wasn't. Not even close.

so far they are also bad in ep2&3 as well. :( I can kind of follow along because I've watched soooo many of these, but I'll miss out on a LOT of the plotting, conversations, etc. :/ I already don't know some of what is happening & driving the ML. -_-
On Buried City to Shut All Lights Nov 16, 2020
I don't even know what I'm watching. Could they not have made this at least SEEM like a continuation of the previous part? The FL reverting back to acting like a 14yo at this point is uber jarring and the plot is... I don't even know what. Ugh. Such an odd "movie".
On The Blooms at Ruyi Pavilion Nov 15, 2020
mixed feelings on this one. It was pretty to watch and it had bits and pieces that could have been awesome but it all came off very contrived and forced. The FL's character and even (for me) Prince An's characters were the least convincing. Plus plot threads by the end were just left dangling in the wind or hastily wrapped up. Meh. Nothing in this drama is memorable or re-watchable. Sad Panda.
On And the Winner Is Love Nov 13, 2020
Is it horrible of me that at this point in the drama (ep 42) that I kind of wish either one of the leads WOULD die or that they'd at least stay REALLY angry with each other when actually justified? Can the ML NOT use the "self sacrificing" plot ploy over and over and OVER??? -_- UNGH.
On And the Winner Is Love Nov 13, 2020
Kind of enjoying this, but I can't put my finger on what is making it a bit "off" to me so that I can't really love love it. I think the editing (lack thereof) has a bit to do with it. Some of these chatting scenes are a bit long and redundant. Someone needed to cut some of those out to clean up the pacing!

Tang Yan's character is also very willful, I felt there are times she just got lucky and turned things into fortunate…
this is very true. I didn't feel like the FL or ML were that strong of a "character", where got a good feel for what made them "likeable" or really anything else up to this point. (I think this is going to happen from ep 19 on) The younger sister did stupid stuff, but not at least not with an "I don't care what happens as long as I get what I want" attitude like the middle sister does. AND I don't speak any Chinese, but watching ep19 raw... it seems? like the middle sister is uber pissed the younger one is going to become queen? eeek. jealous already?
On The Legend of Xiao Chuo Nov 10, 2020
Am I the only one who kind of despises the middle sister? Just curious. In my opinion she acts more like the "baby of the family" than the youngest sister by far. I kind of hate her attitude and how she willfully puts her family in major danger and so on and STILL mostly only thinks about her own happiness. I'm thinking she is going to be a major problem in the future :(
