wow. as expected. horrendous last few episodes. lots of unanswered questions. -__-
On Princess of Lanling King Oct 13, 2020
for this show to have such a heavy "romance" plot... there really isn't any romance at all. I can't believe I'm over halfway through but dropping this. Too boring and repetitive. Super high on the MEH meter!
On Love Yunge From the Desert Oct 11, 2020
mediocre plot, super inconsistent characters with pretty terrible character arcs... all tied together with a major letdown of an "ending". One of the few times I feel that a drama was a complete waste of time. weird thing is reallllly wanted to like it and it had tiny bits and pieces that gave me hope to keep me pushing through. UGH.

Yao Mowan reveals to Ye Junqing that she's actually Yao Moxin. So that may imply that Yao Moxin has possessed…
I pretty much 100% agree with you here after thinking everything over several times. If he fell in love with the girl who had amnesia... it STILL would have been MoXin who had amnesia NOT MoWan suddenly being "present" during that time frame. (She just acted a wee bit out of character because she'd forgotten all her troubles/revenge) The episode where "both memories" being mentioned is just f*cking messy writing in the script, or may seem that way due to edits. So, yes, I actually also think like you do here. Jun Qing fell in love with MoXin. Jung Qin fell in love with MoXin who had amnesia inside MoWan's body and who seemed a bit more carefree at that time as a result, but all along it has always been MoXin... think about how she "knew" political stuff and such and how people felt she (MoWan) was "different" than she used to be and "so similar" to her sister even when she had amnesia... because she's been MoXin all along and ever since the switch, Mo Wan has been encased in her sister's body. Sad when you think about it. LOL

the problem with this, is in the most recent episodes MoXin is all telling JungQin that she's MoXin and has been all along and he is all like "I KNEW IT WAS YOU" and makes me as a viewer feel that MoXin and JungQin are now in love but just using MoWan's body to seek their revenge and in their plans to overthrow the Emperor. MoXin is fully in control of their romantic interludes, including when she "kissed" him goodbye after regaining her memories and went to marry the Emperor and everything that has happened after that. IF JungQin fell in love with MoWAN when she had amnesia, as viewers that would be VERY lost on us because of the horrendous editing. He went from I'LL NEVER LOLVE ANYONE OTHER THAN MOXIN to MOWAN I LOVE YOU SINCE YOU'RE THE ONE WHO HAS STAYED BY MY SIDE in like 1.4 episodes. -_- LIKELY that happened over several episodes/scenes that were drastically cut. MEH. This is why I know the drama CAN'T have a good ending where we're not like WTF is happening? What about.... ??? LOL

What I'm wondering did Prince Su even bed his dear wife Princess Ting Ting?? Just wondering. lol
she mentions that they are a couple "just in name" so very seriously doubt it. I also don't think he hates her at all but kind of feels sorry to her.

Now... if MoXin's body is still alive somehow... then that's another story.

This was mentioned the moment MoWan finds her sister's body hidden, but being kept on ice. She literally says that both the memories had merged into her (that body/consciousness) I'm going to take a leap and say that MoXin's soul is now in MoWan's body but has access to both of their memories BUT also that MoWan's soul is gone along with MoXin's body. I think MoXin might always remain in MoWan's body at this point. & that MoWan's soul is already gone because MoXin's body which housed it is gone.

This korean drama has the same plot of the turkish serie "zalim istambul" 2019, it was a huge success and got…
Zalim Instanbul was sooooo good to begin with but, my goodness, did it begin to get ridiculous and drawn out. Her little sister was evil incarnate for WAY too long in that drama. YIKES. The acting was fabulous though for sure!

meh. the problem with this drama besides the horrendous editing is there can be NO real "good ending".
IF she does go back to her own body... what even happens then? She used and abused her little sister's own body/memories/etc for her of ends & revenge. Her sister has 0 say in the matter. IF they end up back in their respective bodies, does Mo Wan or Mo Xin get the prince? I mean, Mo Xin is loving the prince in Mo Wan's body and using that same body to sleep with the Emperor. Ick. One she's done with her sis's body... where does that leave her little sister beside used, abused, and discarded? There is NO way both of them can live until the end. None. Unless it has an even more ridiculous ending than I'm anticipating. -_-

This show, based on the plot, should be filled with lots of fun stuff. Action. Romance. Political Intrigue... etc. and should have kept me super interested... BUT it all just come off extremely boring by episode 12. The ML + FL are booooooring. The other couple is cute, but too cute for this serious drama. The pacing is FAST, like, too fast for any character development, but still somehow it seems like nothing important really happens. It's so weird. I feel like two different dramas were filming at the same location (because of the weirdly serious first leads and the weirdly "cutesy" second leads) & the shows accidentally merged during filming and they just left it as is rather than separate the two into their respective drama genres. lol

Si YIN is a manipulative dick until the end. & Ya LONG was not. He loved the FL for who she was when she was reincarnated…
I was super super upset for a while over the last episodes. This drama was a pleasant surprise for me and I felt like someone jerked the floor from beneath me by the end. To be honest, no matter what anyone says... I hate that the ML... UNGH.

Same, I want it to be something it really is not. I am so sad UnU
It is sad. The costumes and acting are really very decent and I'm in love with the emperor's voice and the FL is okay... but nothing makes me feel super invested in how their story will play out for some reason. No matter how it ends, I'll likely feel "meh" about it all. No bueno. :(

I know what you mean. I haven't seen a really fabulous historical (excluding xianxia/ wuxia) for a while, especially…
I wasn't watching it, but I'd been eyeing it. I saw some negative comments on the show's MDL page, so I hesitated to begin watching it. I think I'll give it a go, but I don't think I can handle another drama at the moment that doesn't draw you in and feel super invested in the characters and their journey. lol . The worst thing a drama can do (in my humble opinion) is make you feel lukewarm/MEH about the characters and wether they live or die. -_-

Song of Glory was probably one of the best of 2020 for me! I really enjoyed that one this year. Joy of Life... I think I watched a few episodes, but put on hold. I don't remember why. I may need to give that one a go again for sure! Serenade of Peaceful Joy I read about but am pretty sure it would not be my cup of tea either. I may have to do a rewatch of an old fav at this point. lol ^_^
