of course happy ending and there is always a love triangle. ALWAYS. The triangle in this one is definitely annoying because the third wheel is a creep IMO. But the love triangle is mainly for comedy and is one-sided and the leads only like each other. The leads care for each other a lot although they have a lot of obstacles in their relationship. I just finished and the story and scenes between these leads have been so enjoyable. You see them grow up from kids to adults together.

How is this show not recommended at all. The show starts off very fast paced and I enjoyed it so much. It has a unique story with an all star cast. I always love shows where the leads love is strong. Almost all the scenes in the first couple episodes include the leads. Their relationship is one of the best I've seen in awhile. Of course melodrama is going to do its thing with their relationship but that's normal.

There were so many scenes in this show that were simply amazing and heartfelt. I really enjoyed seeing the leads grow together from kids to adults. I also really enjoyed the family scenes.

This is a loving yet somewhat tragic story. It's rare that you can see such love and such tragedy in the same drama. The acting from the leads is so sincere and genuine. The tragedy is so easy to relate too and you can understand the conflict the ML faces. This is a really great story. You will feel every emotion possible watching this show.

I love the direction this show took. Some people do not like that it lasted 20 episodes and may think it dragged. But I love the change in direction of the show towards the end. This was a masterpiece IMO from start to finish.

I've seen quite a bit of shows with the ML and this is the most recent one I've seen and his acting in some of these scenes is the best I've seen from him. He was not one of my favorite actors by any means, but this one changed my opinion on him.

Average goofy show. There are literally like 4 triangle relationships going on. Even ML's divorced parents got one going on. A lot of the show is for gag, but there is a serious traumatic backstory.

Very great analysis. The FL's character was definitely written to be that way. People are flawed and her character is definitely realistic. In relationships, there are no perfect people. People like me get hung up on the cheating aspect and how the ML should just leave the FL, but that would not make for a good story. I was hung up on being upset with the ML for forgiving her, and did not think deeper. You are definitely right about how it does not end with forgiveness and they even stated that. They wanted to get back together, but realized they would never be the same.

A lot of people are not going to like a story about infidelity. I did not appreciate the story at first either. When one cheats on the other; it is not easy to just leave that person. Anyone who has a family/kids and has loved knows that, which probably makes the show harder to watch for people because they do not want to put themselves in the ML's shoes. It can infuriate people or even make them sad.

Great breakdown and very well thought. Problem is a lot of us don't like to use our brains and only see things at surface level. I am very impressed by your well thought out breakdown.

It doesn’t make sense that the leads knew each other for I think 6+ years and went to college together and even took graduation photos together but the FL insists they aren’t that close and aren’t even friends in episode 1. The ML volunteered in Africa for 1 year and she didn’t call him once? A lot of stuff doesn’t make sense but the drama is decent for what it is. It’s not supposed to be serious and is supposed to be a goofy love hate romance.

That being said I enjoyed this drama. Nothing too amazing, but a nice lil rom com.

The scene when the ML confronts the killer at the end was my favorite scene of the show and was so reminiscent of the movie "Seven" and the infamous "What's in the Box!!!". If you have seen both you will know how similar it is. The way he described how he was going to kill him and the lady telling him to stop was so chilling and emotional.

The women in the cage at the end (Jung Mi Sook); her acting was so good. The way she tried to stop ML was so emotional. After everything she's gone through, she could still feel sympathy.

This show starts off at 100 and stays there the whole show. Too much thriller for my ass, but it is good for sure. Very fast paced and you are on the edge of your seat the whole time.

Very unique story and very well done. There is literally everything you can want in this show. Very strong love, familial love, action, mystery, suspense, twists, great characters.

I do not have one complaint from this drama. They started off guns blazing and the ending was perfect for me. The emotions i felt from the characters was something special. Really good acting.

The ending is actually worse than the beginning. I regret watching this show tbh. They tried to do way too much in 12 episodes. The FL goes back and forth between wanting to help the ML and ruin him which makes no sense. One second she is doing her best for the restaurant and the next second she is trying to ruin it by sabotaging it. How about you just not help or do a bad job? it makes no sense. They could use this to add a lot of comedy to the show but there is not 1 funny scene. Up to episode 9 the FL tries to ruin the ML's restaurant and dreams and once she is caught; nothing really happens because the ML likes her. All that build-up. The entire show was about that for nothing.

And then the SFL randomly ends up with the ML's brother. They go on one date and are immediately in love and bring up marriage. The show actually ends with the ML not even knowing about their relationship. Show is a joke and does not make any sense at all.

This is not a rom com because there are literally 0 comedic moments. It is just a romance/food show but the romance is actually terrible.

This drama should not be taken seriously at all. Otherwise, as everyone else is saying the FL will drive you crazy. She is really a brat and nearly no positive qualities. The ML does a lot for her even though he has no relation because he is simply a nice guy and she tries to sabotage him most of the show. Like the FL is mad that the ML is acting like a saint towards her. He protects her from her grandpa (who's mad at her for acting like a brat and yelling at him), He protects her from her ex-coworker who ruined her life, he buys her a tablet, and he genuinely appreciates everything she does for him (even though he pays her well). All this and she still tries to sabotage him and has the nerve to feel bad about it. How about you just stop? The FL does not have one ounce of decency and is a brat. Obviously when they start to like each other things change, but still. The ML is a great character though. Which is why it is annoying that the FL is trying to ruin him and his dream when all he does is care about her. And for what? because she wants her bath house back? Ruining the livelihood and dream of someone who only helps you is messed up. I think the ex that randomly broke up with the ML is nicer than the FL to be honest. She did not do anything terribly wrong to the ML; she did not cheat and broke up because she thought she did not feel the same way anymore which is natural. Of course this hurt the ML, but it is something that happens. What the FL doing most of the show is just wrong on so many levels. Her entire personality is partly because someone else ruined her dream and stole her work and here she is doing the same thing to someone so nice.

The FL is supposed to be the way she is for the show to be what the show is. The ending is actually worse than the story.

That is the point of the entire point of the show. If you are looking for a serious romance only show; this is not the one for you.

I do not get all the criticism for this show. It is a different somber type of drama with sad undertones. People complain about the pace, but I thought the pace was well done. There was not a lot of repetition either and the show does a good job at detailing the characters. The tag is "slow burn romance" but I thought the show was well paced. There are a lot of silent moments and pauses in conversations for theatric effect which some people did not like, but I thought those moments were very powerful and emotional. You have to understand the characters to enjoy the show.

It is a somber show about two leads in similar situations but with completely different personalities and reactions. They are both at the rock bottom of their lives. One seeks revenge; while the other would rather wallow in self-pity.

Rather than a normal rom com, this story is emotional if you can understand the characters. The ML is a pitiful guy who feels he has nothing and it is nice seeing him unravel his silent nature and heal. He's a genuinely nice guy who keeps getting betrayed by everyone he's ever liked and helped and through all the betrayal, he never shouts or yells. He internalizes it. The leads gravitate to each other due to their similar pain and heal each other. it is kind of funny because it is only when the FL sees someone in a worse situation then her does she herself get to heal.

Everything in the show played out how you would want it to play out. Karma did its thing and love prevailed. For me it was a 9/10. I really could not find anything I hated about the show and that is tough for me. The ending was very mildly melodramatic with the ending break-up and get back together last minute of the show (WHY IS THIS IN ALMOST EVERY ROMANTIC DRAMA). Also the ending was cliche with all the side leads getting with each other; like it is ok if one of the characters isn't in a relationship at the end lol. Maybe I watched to many melodramatic dramas in a row and this was a nice change of pace which made me like it more; but I really enjoyed this show. The acting and music was amazing too.

Great opinion. Couples can definitely reconcile after infidelity, but IMO this FL did not do anything to deserve redemption. The story was definitely on the side of realism and how life is not a fairytale. Personally, like you said, I did not like the ML taking all the blame onto himself which made it a tough watch for me. Just like in My Mister, we see the ML taking all this pain onto himself and being a righteous person by being able to let it go for the sake of his family. If the FL redeemed herself by doing the right thing once, the show would have been better for me. Even after the ML found out, the FL continued to act despicable. She cared about her situation and how she would appear; wanting to sweep the whole thing under the rug, while the ML was in so much pain. She even took the easy way out and asked for a divorce first just because the ML yelled at her...He was not willing to take that step even after experiencing the worst betrayal of his life and she took that step so easily. The show would have been better if they lived happily divorced but I get the message they are trying to convey.

IMO the FL emotionally gaslighted the ML from start to finish. He never wanted to get a divorce after finding out she cheated and she used divorce as a weapon to make him stop being angry. After everything and all the emotions he felt; he still could not let her go. The power was always in the FL's hand from start to finish and the ML was pathetic the entire show. You can see it as him being magnanimous, but I see it as him being a fool. It would be one thing if the FL confessed herself or had any act of redemption, but she did not. She did nothing to deserve forgiveness.

Great actors and good story, except I hate seeing side characters who were in relationships with the leads stay in the show. The FL and her fiance broke up due to the ML's misunderstanding which is shown early in the show and is not something they hide. The ML's fiance left him at the alter, but still loves him dearly and you know that is not going to end well as the leads will always end up together. You feel bad for the SFL. You almost felt bad for the SML but he acts like an ass so you don’t care about him 😂

That situation aside, the scenes between the leads are really good. The FL can act her ass off and her emotional scenes were so genuine. Good drama overall!

Nice little short drama for me, but you feel sorry for the SFL the entire time. You know that the leads are going to end up together and immediately in episode 1 the SFL confesses her love for the ML to her coworker. So as the leads grow closer, you know when the SFL comes back, its going to be a mess.

I like the premise of the story and acting but the romance was too melodramatic for me to enjoy. Everything about the romance is predictable. You know who is going to end up with who immediately. All the same melodrama happens from all the misunderstandings and random break-up near to end of the show to the same boring triangle relationship stuff. WHY DO ALL THESE SHOWS HAVE THE LEADS BREAK-UP and get back together with 15 minutes left in the last episode... I skimmed through the story. The side characters scenes were not interesting at all. Also in this story you have 2 side characters who are apart of the ML and FL's love triangle who get absolutely screwed.

Both the leads have messy triangle relationships in that the leads both love one person, but that person is with their best friend and not them. Thus both leads carry unrequited love for many years....The SML is dating the SFL for 10 years and she randomly breaks up with him because she realized she loved the ML (after 10 years, wtf? and the SML is the ML's best friend). On the other side you have the FL's best friend who dates her crush and has a one-night stand with him. This would be fine, but in this case both side leads also like the leads. SO IF BOTH THE SIDE CHARACTERS AND LEADS ALWAYS LOVED EACH OTHER FROM THE START, WHY ARE THE SIDE CHARACTER'S BOTH DATING THE LEAD'S BEST FRIENDS? Does not make any sense. Like the SFL dating the leads best friend for 10 years and we are supposed to feel sad that she can't have the ML now when she decides she wants him? Similarly, are we supposed to feel sad for a SML who used one friend for sex and threw her away after because he has a crush on the FL?

The leads obviously end up together. So many people's love is getting rejected in this show only for the characters to magically settle into place at the end. They brush aside the side characters and at the end they magically end up together. Doesn't seem like the side characters have much self respect to allow themselves to be toyed and thrown away and picked up as they please.

Your comment was the main thing that bothered me about this show as well. How are they going to made it so sad that the 2FL has sentimental moments thinking about the ML when she is the one that dumped him in the first place and is literally in a long term relationship with their mutual best friend. It did not make sense. Sure the ML was not vocal about his unrequited love, but they make it obvious the 2FL knows he likes her and she does nothing about it, but when he is ready to move on because she has; now it is sad for her. Like they literally put on sad music during the scenes of her thinking about the ML...

Same goes with the SML the FL had a crush on and he also liked her. How is the SML going to be in relationships then all of a sudden want to care about to FL? I get these shows want to impart that timing is everything in love but man…

But these things are not supposed to make sense. The FL even had a similar love triangle with her best friend. These love triangles are so poorly done. It happens in almost every korean romance drama.

The entire show was romance from start to finish, how was there no romance. "nothing to do with romance" is just a lie and baffles me. The whole show was romance from the opening scene.

The leads kiss early in episode 6 too. Almost every scene has one of the leads and is related to their romance. When death or family were brought up, it was only used as a theme to highlight the leads relationships. They go hand and hand. The point is the two leads live 2 completely different lives and have opposite personalities, but fate keeps leading them to each other.

Now was it a good romance? I'm iffy on that one. They kept going in circles with the "I'm a simple small town guy and I'm a big Shanghai girl" and took too long to grow up IMO.

People do not like this show because of its story and the flawed ML. The premise of the ML altering his life by going back in time to never meet his wife (the FL) is different but creates a story that people are not going to like. The ML is unsatisfied with his life and starts to have marital troubles (through much fault of his own) and starts to dream about his first crush. He alters his life and is now married to his crush (the SFL) and is unrelated to the FL.

This starts the ML's dislike from the audience as he was willing to throw away his wife and kid for some fantasy life with a girl he had a crush on but never knew. In his new life, immediately he meets the FL at work and the ML starts to gravitate towards the FL again in his new life. Now we have a married man cheating on his wife (who also cheats on him, but that's another story) and the FL who gets a boyfriend and cheats on him with the ML. Now you have cheating involved which many people dislike.

It was the ML's selfish self-centered personality that caused him to change his reality in the first place. Now it is the same personality that is cheating on his wife doing the same thing he did to his first wife (acting self-centered and not paying any attention to the wife). Now he is also acting crazy jealous in the new reality as the FL starts to date the ML's good friend which you know is not going to end well. All of this is shown very early on in like episode 1-2.

Most of the show is cringe because all the characters are in relationships with people who should not be together and thus are cheating on each other in their new life. You feel bad for the SFL for being married to the ML who does not care a bit about her. You also feel for the FL who's trying to live her life but gets dragged along by the ML's interruptions. The entire time you know the leads will end up together again because that is how dramas go and thus you feel bad for all the other characters involved. The show gets better at episode 12 when he confesses the truth to the FL who starts dreaming about their past life. The ML does get redemption at the end, but most of the show is hard to watch.

The acting is great, it's just hard for people to love this story. Average drama that's is watchable, just put it towards the bottom of your list.
