It’s so fluffy I could die!!!!!!!!!! This is how I feel about today’s episode. ♥️ I love their flirty…
I have no idea what you mean. He was flirting - if he had been standing a normal distance they would just have been having a boring conversation.
On My School President Feb 4, 2023
This has been my favorite series airing, but after that episode I'm not sure I'll even bother to finish it.

What is this kissing thing? Are you serious with this? What are teenage boys famous for? Oh, yeah, it's their extreme reluctance to engage in physical intimacy. Yeah, that's right. If you want to wait, fine, but all these false-start kisses are just stupid and cringey, and it's getting to the point of homophobia. Their relationship is going nowhere - backwards even. After that absolutely enchanting dance scene in half the series ago, they needed to move forward, but they haven't, and the energy is gone. TBH, I've lost interest.

And how many 40-year old parents can be fatally ill? The death rate for young parents in BL is nearly 90%. This story is unorginal enough - do we need another tired cliche?

And Sound & Win - WTF? "I don't feel anything, but I'm willing to try" - who writes this garbage? You feel something or you don't. That's not romantic, it's idiotic. "I don't have any feelings for you, but sure, I'll try gay, why not? I had strawberry ice cream yesterday and I usually have chocolate - is this any different?"

A little humor is OK, but Yak hijacked this entire episode and it got tiresome.

I'm profoundly disappointed. This series has gone off the rails and it was something really special. This has declined for me from a 9.5 to a 7 at best for this episode. I hope it climbs back up.

So Gemini can sing. Switching smoothly in and out of falsetto is not easy - it takes skill and practice.

Dear GMMTV, that notebook kiss was lame. I love Fourth and Gemini, but Gem wasn't even kissing the notebook! I…
A hundred percent agree. That was lame. As for Tiew & Por, I don't even know who Por is, so if there's anything between them, I don't even know where to look.

Wait, what? In that case you'll have to excuse me for a few hours.

Younger people feel they have a responsibility only to themselves, and older people feel they have a responsibility to people in their lives. It's not a question of like it or not. You could just as well say "like it or not, some people steal things" or "like or not, there are murderers walking around everywhere."

If he had no idea that suddenly disappearing from the life of someone that he spends all day with every day and is the person closest to him , then he's a psychopath that's incapable of empathy. I agree that you may need a break for mental health, but then you discuss it with the person, you don't just disappear. It is never OK to hurt someone else when you can avoid it.

He told Woo Jae what his intentions were, and although Woo Jae has told him to leave, he also sent a lot of mixed signals and didn't really definitively demand it, and when he did, HWY did leave.

You don't just get to abandon someone with no explanation like that and then behave as if you owe them nothing. HWY didn't even know if he was alive - that's the worst possible way to treat another human being - to hurt them badly, never let them understand why, and never let them get closure. That's a million times worse than camping out Woo Jae's house and doing all his manual labor for him.

Also, Jae Woo agreed to do the film, so his behavior is unprofessional as well as horrendous. Back in school, he never even bothered to find out how HWY felt about him - he just made an assumption - which is obviously wrong - and disappeared. He's a cowardly asshole. Yes, HWY is cocky and obnoxious, but at least he's hot.
On Individual Circumstances Feb 3, 2023
Is it supposed to be entertaining to watch a total dick with one facial expression treat a sweet guy like shit for 8 episodes? How long is this going to run in circles? I liked this series at first but it's gone nowhere. I want the writer to die. And not just die - be slowly fed into a wood-chipper. I didn't think it was possible to top Theo from Enchante as the worst protagonist ever, but this has accomplished it with this revolting and nasty man.

The idea for this series is good, and the flashback structure is good writing, but the total lack of chemistry between the characters - I felt more heat between Yeon Woo and the manager - makes this really unpleasant to watch. I have absolutely no interest in continuing.

Well, that's not entirely true. I'll probably skim the remaining two episodes in case Yeon Woo takes his shirt off again.

Ahem, hello my name is ImHereForTheBL & I approve of this show. I know that I am in the minority but I disagree…
I was a strong defender of this series at first, but Woo Jae is so revolting and awful, and the series so unbelievably repetitive, that I will actually be upset if they get together. How can anyone enjoy a total dick being awful to a sweet guy for a whole series?

The idea for this is good, and the use of flashbacks is good writing, but you can't have a character that upleasant to watch.

Of course Woo Jae is to blame - you don't just abandon a friend without a word and never explain - and instead of being horrible to him, just talk to him and tell him why you left - it's not that hard to behave like an adult. Why are so many BL characters narcissistic monsters? Ugh.

Glad to see you're still watching for the skin and cuteness because if you were watching for story and plot development…
Or at least the uke is almost always totally uninterested in sex. They often treat a request for a kiss on the cheek as the unnatural lusts of a monstrous pervert. Art did it in Till the World Ends when they were literally the last two people on earth a day before the entire planet was to be destroyed.

The trope bothers me because I think it's fundemantally homophobic - born of an attitude that it's immoral for a man to seek and enjoy being penetrated, and therefore he must resist - sometimes he's even forced, which is essentially saying rape is not as objectionable as bottoming.

I agree with you that it's bad, but I don't so much align with your reasons. We've always known Hai Yi was the…
HBW confessed to Hai Yi just after he got word his father had a heart attack and he was rushing to the hospital. He was then up all night dealing with that, went straight to the board meeting, and then HBW slams into his office and starts yelling at him, with the explicit intent to manipulate him. He wasn't given the chance to explain, and in any case, not having fully revealed his family situation could not possibly have been on his list of concerns. If HBW had come in asking for Hai Yi's response to his confession, that should be on his list of concerns, and while still insensitive given the situation, at least then HBW would merely be dense rather than a malignant narcissist.

At that point, I would think Hai Yi would have explained his situation and aked HBW to wait as he wasn't able to think about that at the moment. But instead, someone barges in and starts yelling about something unimportant - would you not have a defensive response? I would.

As far as Hai Yi's feelings go, HBW has been following Momo's advice, which is designed to manipulate Hai Yi under the presumption Hai Yi likes him, so he is not totally oblivious - but in any case, HBW's ridiculous and self-centered behavior in Hai Yi's office is what prevented him from knowing how Hai Yi feels about him, not Hai Yi.

Did you really read him as cold and not caring? I read him as devastated and exhausted, and not really needing the one person who he could open up to shouting at him and proclaiming they were no longer friends.

I see no other division of responsibility for this as HBW: 100%, Hai Yi: 0%.

He was overdue to tell HBW who he was, but as far as he knew, HBW was some whacko who claimed to be from the future - he had just discovered definitively that HBW really was from the future and didn't have the opportunity to talk to him between then and his father dying.

I get that, and I do that too. But I also like to be able to get into the characters, which requires them to behave like people. Nonsensical plots are fine, characters not behaving like people behave (like the aforementioned not seeming to care at all that they just witnessed their parents being gunned down) is not OK with me, no matter how attractive they are. Unless we get some skin, in which case anything will do. If there wasn't so much of Pond and Phuwin on display I would probably entirely skip their story (even though I like both actors) to get to the Ben/Chopper story.

I agree with you that it's bad, but I don't so much align with your reasons. We've always known Hai Yi was the…
Those are good points, and Hai Yi didn't explain himself well - he didn't tell HBW because for once someone liked him as a person rather than for his status. But it's hard to criticize him for not really being in the mood to talk/argue with an annoying little narcissistic gnome when his father had died the day before and his evil uncle was teaming up with the possibly evil Liang to kick him out of his birthright.

HBW did point those things out, but he also said that Hai Yi has really turned around and now does his chores and is more responsible. I don't think it's fair to continue to judge someone by their initial nature - his character has developed.

But HBWs has not. Saying something cruel and hurtful then storming off because you're trying to manipulate someone into running after you is truly awful. He's not even bothering to think about what's going on with Hai Yi or wondering why he looks so despondent - a sign of a lack of empathy, which you would expect from a malignant narcissist.

Also, HBW has accused Hai Yi of spending freely on things like taking him out to dinner - my take is that HBW is ridiculously frugal, whereas Hai Yi believes you should live for now and is a generous person. What has he spent on himself the entire series? It's always him wanting to do nice things for HBW. Living in a warehouse is a 0% burden on his father, and even that he did so that HBW has a place to live. And he is working, so he has a paycheck - what he spends it on is none of HBW's business, and commenting on it is rude and intrusive.

Regarding HBW's anger, Hai Yi is also 100% correct that HBW has not once asked him - anything, about anything. What right does he have to be angry? What difference does it make if Hai Yi is the chairman's son? If he had revealed it, how would people have treated both of them at work? How does that affect their relationship (it does now, but Hai Yi wasn't planning on his father dying so young).

I don't see how Momo has ever been right about anything, and the one thing she was right about she came to by accident with superstition. All her advice has been counterproductive - even the ridiculous wait-20-seconds-to-answer nonsense, which is immature even for a child. All her ideas are manipulative game-playing like that. Not once has she said "talk to him about how you feel and work through your differences."

I guess my central problem is that HBW isn't really a person - he's just a caricature, with only shallow characteristics, whereas Hai Yi, whatever his flaws, is a fully-realized character. I don't think it works.

Looks is a matter of taste - I don't find HBW attractive at all (although as himself Sean Chang is beautiful), whereas I think Hai Yi is sizzling hot. Liang does nothing for me, but Huai En does.

I guess it was BL-ish, and I don't want the same BL plot over and over and over, but there is a fantasy element to BL and it felt a little too tame in that they lacked romantic chemistry - it was a pleasant watch, but not very memorable.

Huh? Is Liang actually a villain. There is something intuitively wrong with him - Hai Yi is on to something, I…
It wasn't bad, it was just all over the place, and He Bo Wei was awful and I hate him now. If, as it seems, Liang is evil, then I have to give points to the writing, because it's unexpected and yet nothing that's happened makes it seem implausible. He has good manners, which doesn't rule out villainy - his smile often looks forced or shallow, and while he's been very kind, it's only been to Huai En, nobody else, and that dinner meeting with the woman who wanted to marry him had dark undertones for me.

And, in contrast to a certain other series airing, Hai Yi never so much as thought about HBW while dealing with his father's death, even though HBW had just confessed his feelings. So at least, even if the plot is a mess, the writer understands actual human behavior and doesn't have him frolicking all day at a beach resort and professing how happy he is.

Right, and it's stupid and makes no sense. You seem to be saying there's nothing wrong with having a stupid plot. They could have just had him be a martial artist or a soldier and that would solve it. It doesn't cost more to have a well-written story than a terribly-written story, so why not have a well-written one?

The minute he turned his back, I knew what was going to happen. It was really idiotic. Palm is too good of a fighter…
That was a great scene in Ghost House. I did notice the "it's just a camera" thing - I forgot to mention that as another "hunh?" moment.

Chopper's dad actually didn't confess to anything - he only asked Chopper how he would feel if he had. Nueng's mom might have faked getting shot, or it might be one of those magical "it was just a scratch" type wounds that just needs an orange q-tip dab.

I think we may get to see some Chimon-Perth action - I'd kind of like Chimon to do the boinking, but I won't complain either way.

I liked it - I gave it an 8. It's nice to see a gay relationship instead of a BL one, the plot was coherent and focused on the characters, and Moon Ji Yong is adorable. I probably won't remember it very well in a couple of months, but it was a pleasant watch.
