I dropped this series early on because the it made me uncomfortable in a cringy kind of way. Thi being around…
They're not 5 years apart in age. This ep Noey said he'll be a a freshman in college when Thi is a senior - so they're likely 3 years apart in age, possibly only two.
I’m coming in with a hot take.I’m actually happy that it ended the way that it did. Noey has been pouring…
I think Hollybae5 is right. Phayu is just a friend and Noey is just jealous. Phayu has never done anything other than just be friendly - I wouldn't be surprised if he already has a girlfriend or boyfriend (hopefully me).
If he were really into Thi he wouldn't be mildly amused all the time, he'd be upset. He's obviously poking a little fun at Noey, but it's hard to blame him for teasing a little because Noey's possessiveness is so OTT.
OK, that was back to the level of the first few episodes of the series, and had me on the verge of tears all the way through. Fourth & Gemini are one of the best BL couples of all time - their interaction is so authentic and beautiful - and sweet and innocent but with a that bit of heat that I think a romantic couple needs.
I can't tell you how refreshing it is for me to have a beautiful story about two normal guys - not a weird formulaic seme and uke, just fully realized characters who are equals.
And I loved of Tinn's fantasy sequences - so cute.
Another great episode, filled with fun, support, warmth, cuteness, growth. The only thing that felt a bit too abrupt…
They've had hate-sex energy from the beginning, though. I get what you mean, anyway. It feels like it needed just one more interaction between them first.
IKRRR. I saw the comments and decided to skip this but I got so bored and there was nothing else to watch so I…
I feel like people might not have gotten the significance of the sweatshirt in the flashback - otherwise nobody would ask what the mystery of their past is.
That flashback was one of the most efficient and effective ways to show us everything we needed to know - that was so relatable and so sad.
I feel like I'm watching a different show than most of the commenters - this is well-written, acted, directed, filmed, and edited, it's both moving and funny, and it has a super-duper hot naked guy. What else does anyone want?
I normally agree with you 100% but I feel like we didn't watch the same episode.Your note about Perth's acting…
OK, but it was unnecessary to shoot Nueng's mom - it could have just been an attempt and they both have to go into hiding. There is no circumstance where a good person should be the happiest they've ever been if he's just seen his mother potentially shot to death. If anything, he should be crippled by PTSD having watched both his parents be gunned down.
I actually think Pond is better than Phuwin - I get a lot more feeling from him and I feel his love of Nueng more. But they still seem like friends to me more than lovers. They're not awful or anything, and I like watching them - I just think there should be more - I don't feel any heat, and love isn't just about holding hands. They don't need to have sex, but they should look like they want to.
I get your point about the cringey wedding - but I'm wasn't so much cringing at the OTT, it was the total lack of any sign of attraction between them - they looked like they were being held at gunpoint. Nueng's standing 5 feet from them to film the proposal was odd, but that doesn't bother me because it would have been hard to frame the shot otherwise.
I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, the plot is stupid and so devoid of emotional authenticity that it takes me out of the story. On the other hand, we see a LOT of Phuwin & Pond's hot bodies.
Just kidding. But not kidding. I do like their interaction, and I think they have decent but not great chemistry - sometimes they seem like good friends more than romantic prospects. For me Pond sometimes looks like he feels more, but I don't really get any heat from Phuwin.
But Jesus, Perth totally dominates any scene he's in and several scenes after that when I'm still thinking about him.
That rooftop scene was several levels above anything else this episode - the acting, writing, that powerful and haunting piano music... It was so sad and moving.
Then we cut to Nueng and Palm frolicking when for all they know their parents are dead and hit men are hunting them. Good think they're keeping a low profile staging a gay wedding (between two obviously straight guys [or, I suppose, two gay guys with absolutely no attraction for each other]). It was a nice sentiment, but the cringe was difficult to take in that whole storyline. Nueng actually says he's never been so happy in his life, free from his MURDERED Father's and possibly brain-dead mother's expectations. For God's sake, who writes this stuff?
On anothere note, it's a nice change that a BL actor who's singing can actually sing and my brain wasn't bleeding from heavy use of autotune.
So funny that people born and living in big cities, especially capital cities, look down on everyone not born/living…
People not born and living in big cities also look down on people from big cities - it goes both ways. When I lived in New York City, I can't count the number of times people from elsewhere said "ugh I could NEVER live here." Who says that about someone's home to their face? Rude. It's as if they think their conviction is so correct that even the people they're insulting will agree with them.
The best review I have ever read🤣Thank you for that!
My pleasure. I feel it's imporant to find something positive in horrible disasters, even if it's only describing the horrible disaster to somoene in a way that entertains them.
Meh, not a fan of the huge muscle look. Who wants a boyfriend who spends half his time in the gym and only eats…
I've had a musclebound boyfriend like that, and I couldn't agree more. It was great for about 2 weeks, and after that his obsession with counting and logging every calorie that went into his body, 4 hours a day at he gym, protein powder everywhere, refusal to drink alcohol (empty calories), eat at restaurants (too many calories), travel (too much strange food the calories in which are too hard to measure) engage in any social activity that didn't involve sports or camping, and borderline illiteracy more than overbalanced how good it feels to be all over a hard body like that (it feels good). Give me a cultured man in a dad bod any day over a jock who's about as smart as a box of hair. Normal bodies are better for hugs, anyway.
But I don't want to date Force, I just want to watch him take a shower.
In any case, Mark is my man in this series. You can have First, although I certainly wouldn't say no to him.
I don't know if this is true but he had a show about boxing in his lineup last year but that got cancelled. maybe…
There's a photo of him at the gym with Jimmy and Ohm and he's considerably bigger than either, and that's saying something. He better at least take a shower in this series, cause we saw nothing in Enchante.
It's not a tragic ending, but it's obviouisly not "and they lived happily ever after" given one of them is dead, and it doesn't take the cheap He's Coming to Me route. I found it beautiful, but at worst it might be called bittersweet.
I agree with many of your points especially regarding the importance of safe sex and sexual education within minors.…
I understand and agree with your concerns, but I don't think it's inherently bad to portray minors in sexual situations - I think it's usually clear when something is exploitative vs a depiction of real-life issues.
Example: It's very common in BL for guys to take a long shower for no apparent reason - if an adult man wants to be paid to be objectified, I'm perfectly OK with that, but it would make me unformfortable for a minor to be shown in an exploitative way like that. However, if it's a romance between minors and there's a physical aspect to their relationship, as long as it's not there just to titilate the audience, I don't see what's wrong with it. We have a way of unnaturally desexualixing minors, as if sexuality just magically appears when you're 18.
There are many grey areas, and sometimes art is about crossing boundaries.

My only complaint was there wasn't enough Tiw.

I'm pretty sure that wasn't going on during Enchante.
The all-time champion of plank-sex is Ja's Leo (with Fiat). I kept thinking "that boy must have amazing core strength by now."
