I guess productions are convinced ukes need to be useless and whiny. You'd think they'd notice that some of the all-time best pairs are not like that.

If you really want brain damage, listen to the opening credits of Hit Bite Love. It's so severe it feels like it must be on purpose, but I don't know why anyone would want to make something that sounds that awful.

Prem in My Only 12% was like... well, a man. He was mature and sexy with gravitas, not a whiny boy like he is in this. It's OK for a character to have some immature characteristics, but you still want them to be recognizably within the age range of their characters. Team is closer to a 12-year old girl than a college-age man. Actually, that's an insult to 12-year old girls, who have it far more together than Team.

I can't get enough Tul and Waan - if not for them I'd probably not have made it. Also, Tae has a weird effect on me - I know his story is totally extraneous and unnecessary, but he revs up my motor. I guess I like that he's goofy and masculine, athletic but normal. I like chisled abs and pecs, but sometimes a guy is sexier when you know he doesn't spend 12 hours a day on his body and carefully count and log every calorie that goes into his mouth.

Mostly agree - but what really shocked me is "I even liked Benz" - never thought i would hear it from you.
LOL, yes, I'm surprised too. I think what I haven't liked about him isn't him - in Call It What You Want, he's the fantasy figure of Aam's self-insertion into the story and they're a little icky, and then he was in Coffee Melody, a series which managed to accomplish what I thought would be impossible and made Pavel Naret unappealing, so Benz didn't have a chance.

I agree with you - I'm just saying it felt uncomfortable because it seemed like it wasn't what one of them wanted.

I don't think it necessarily follows that there is an emotional component to being into someone's scent - if anything that's even more carnal. A lot of guys really prefer a bit of musk. I don't get it because I really, really need cleanliness - ideally he smells like soap and fabric softener - but I've been with guys who prefer it the other way.

I have a distressingly strong sense of smell - I wish I didn't.

I guess I'm that guy who's not into WinTeam - I like Boun, I like Prem, I just don't like their couple. I think it's the writing - too weepy and sentimental, and way too static and repetiive. Plus, I feel like there should be a mandatory course for BL writers in psychological trauma and how no, love does not heal it, treatment does. But also, I just don't feel the chemistry - they feel more like friends to me. They did that weird planking thing in their love scene that needs to be banned. It's so weird and strikes me as homophobic, if you can't have men touching even when they're having sex. That opening scene was torture for me - one of the worst cases of the Thai pause-for-20-minutes-between-every-phrase disease.

I enjoyed all the side couples, and I even liked Benz - he's a lot more appealing when he's playing a darker and more reserved character. It's a nice contrast with Bee and an interesting reversal of the usual cold seme/emotional uke dynamic. Tae is so sexy - I love him.

Yacht was heart breaking - it's good to see a situation where the drama is not external and contrived. It was built into the situation, and is nobody's fault. Tul wanted to tell Wan the truth, and tried a couple of times, but Wan made it clear he didn't want to know. But as Wan expected his secret friend to be a stranger, his hurt and anger are reasonable - I wish more BL writing was like this.

There seems to be a persisent misconception that it's illegal for minors to have sex. It's not. It's illegal for…
If someone doesn't like HS stories because they don't want to watch minor characters getting it on (alhough the actors are almost never minors), that's silly. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of HS BLs because I'm sick of them and they all seem to be the same story, but that's a different issue. And I'm shallow so I am here for the hot (or at least cute) guys. If I'm going to watch your lame formulaic story with bad dialog and mediocre acting, you had better have nice abs. (j/k, but not really.)

Underage sex is illegal in countries where sex before marriage is illegal, but in most of those the age at which a person can get married is usually shockingly low. In fact the origin of age of consent laws were to prevent people from marrying pre-adolescent girls, which used to be common. In fact, almost all consent laws until very recently only applied to girls, i.e. it was illegal for an adult man to have sex with (or marry) a minor girl, but not the other way around (and culturally, a fifteen-year old boy having sex with an adult woman would be viewed a stud, whereas we all know what people would call a girl in that situation).

In places like Thailand this is especially important because there are still laws that protect a rapist from prison if he marries his victim. If I recall, there was a Thai rock star who slept (legally and consensually) with a teen girl, but the girl & her family tried to retroactively de-consent because she was pregnant and they wanted him to take responsibility, i.e. marry her. He was saved by a paternity test showing it wasn't his but he still got a suspended sentence.

In any case, I can't find a single case anywhere where two minors under the age of consent suffered any consequences for having sex with each other outside of really backward places where weird tribal politics got involved. How would you enforce that? Send two fourteen year olds to prison? Especially for boys, that's not really the best place to send them unless you want them to absorb lots and lots of lessons about non-consent.

To set up the arc it needed to look more carnal than that. In particular from 4:30-4:40 he didn't look like he was really all that into it. In general that scene lacked heat and passion - the other guy had some, but not the main character. I agree it's largely directing - maybe it's weak acting, but it's too early to say that. Sex in BL is usually really bad and strange, so maybe it's just a genre thing. When people have sex, they use their hands and touch each other, and press their bodies together. This just looked cold and impersonal, and since what's his name wants a normal relationship, it feels like he's being used.

Can't high schoolers have sex? I bet the underage ones in this BL will do nothing except a peck on the lips like…
There seems to be a persisent misconception that it's illegal for minors to have sex. It's not. It's illegal for adults to have sex with minors. This weird neo-Victorianism that's surfaced lately is unhealthy, not to mention obnoxious and sanctimonious. If you don't like sex scenes then don't watch romances. Like it or not, for 99% of people, sex is part of a romantic relationship. Jeez, no wonder birth rates are plummeting.

I'm getting sick of comments suggesting that all love scenes are just porn to titilate perverts. Anyone who feels that way is likely too immature to be watching series like this. And we're talking about BL, that is so chaste it borders on homophobic. Unforgotten Night was supposedly BDSM themed, and the dom had to ask for permission, usually withheld, to kiss his sub on the cheek.

I agree with many of your points especially regarding the importance of safe sex and sexual education within minors.…
The age of consent in Thailand is fourteen. But age of consent laws are to protect minors from being sexually exploited by adults, not by each other. Almost nobody has laws that make it illegal for minors close in age to have sex with each other. It's not illegal to have sex as a minor, it's illegal for an adult to have sex with a minor.

In any case, both actors are adults so I don't see what the issue is.

I'm not usually put off by things like that - it's just there was no set up or context for the scene and with one of them looking really uncomfortable I'm not sure what the point of it was. I'm all for cute boys "goin' to town", but this time it wasn't working for me.

I'm also getting tied of people being hospitalized by being hit by a basketball. And yet people drown, get resuscitated, spit up a mouthful of water, and go on their way. Or get stabbed, get a bandage, and back home in an hour. But a basketball hitting your chest, that's far more serious. And yes, I do realize how minor an issue this is.

It was quite something. And then stripping someone of a dramatic role and making a boy play a girl against his will on top of that... and he was really unkind to the girl for no reason.

I want to ship a basketball to every BL writer on the planet to prove to them that they are not made of hard steel. They bounce. Do you know why they bounce?

BurgerKing is charming, but the rest of it is tiresome and cliche. With the other storyline, King's advice to sad football guy sounds like a 50-year old, not a mid-teen.

The product placement was lol funny - who would put that in the middle of a love scene? OMG.

A teacher played by a trans actor. They only exist to be pathetic and unpleasant, because the Thai mindset is fundamentally homophobic and conformist. Boys can like boys, but only if they are 110% "straight acting".
