The reason Win got sick was cause he was in the rain for at least an hour, so the cold + wet got to him. I agree…
Actually, you're quite right - it was a minor miracle. I need to keep things in perspective.

What cold? They're in Thailand - in the coldest moment of night in January it would be 22 degrees. Getting wet doesn't make you sick, bacteria and viruses do. Stress to your body can lower your immunity, but being along on the road and wearing a leather jacket and a full-head-covering helmet in 22 degree weather will have about zero effect on your immune system. And if those conditions would make a person sick, then why didn't Team get sick sitting in the rain in a t-shirt for two hours?

Sorry, I know it's an almost ridiculously minor point, but I'm getting really, really, really tired ofthe same drop of rain/fever/damp towel routine that infests every BL.

Title Between Us
I just noticed Ep 10 was out. Is the rain in Thailand full of harmful pathogens? Why are healthy young men unable to have rain touch them without developing a fever?

I was jumping up and down excited by the miracle that Team didn't give him the damp towel treatment. But I should have known it was only a temporary respite.

This is proceeding beyond tiresome into infuriating. "I don't know what we are to each other." You mean the guy you sleep with every night, have sex with, and spend all your time with and have met each other's families? Hmm. What could you status be? So confusing. WTF is this awful writing? These are grown men - how can they not know they're boyfriends?

It might not be that big a deal if it were ep 4, but ep ten? COME ON.

I found myself looking away from the screen when Win and Team started to kiss, and your comment tells me why --…

I couldn't take Cutie Pie, but I may scan it for secondary couples, which someone told me has some good stuff.

I don't get why so may BL writers make ukes like this. Take as a contrat My School President which is a romance between equals - do we even know who is the uke and who is the seme? It doesn't even appear to be structured that way - and despite the wholly unoriginal plot, it's really a joy to watch - partly because of what Fourth looks like, but it's also a really pleasant dynamic between the characters. And Fourth's hot body.

I think the word you're looking for is "sanctimonious."
I agree with every bit of that.

What I mean is that I find it tiresome when people get all bothered about teenagers having sex with each other, as if it's trangressive or something instead of totally natural and normal, and I strongly object to it being compared with criminal behavior.

I'm totally fine with actual criminal behavior being portrayed - drama needs, well, drama, and sometimes that comes from bad people and almost always from bad or forbidden behavior, and you can't have a character arc if everyone starts out as perfect.

I found myself saying "Oh, he's gay" when he went to the queer students meeting at the school then giggling at…
You're right, that is really ironic - I hadn't thought of that.

I think I've identified why WinTeam isn't working for me - it's because they interact like a father and son, and so it's icky. A power imbalance is fine, but when one of them infantilizes the other and the "kid" goes to him for "dad" things, I just want them to get counselling.

In Ep 9 the graveyard scene was one of the best they've had in the series, and then it was totally ruined by having Team call Win and sit in the rain for two entire hours so he could have his "dad" comfort him when his actual parents were a couple of blocks away. Also, speaking of icky, a nineteen-year-old sleeping in his parents' bed. That was beyond creepy. I half expected him to breast-feed, especially with all the cow comparisons.

The level of grief Prem showed at the grave was perfect - tears without that exaggerated wailing that these dramas so often indulge in, and it was actually moving.

Also, if you take a side couple that had fifteen-twenty minutes total screentime and stretch them out to twelve hours, you really need to come up with more plot, and they didn't. As a result it's the same few notes repeated over and over. How many times have we watched the flashback of his friend drowning? Or Team having that nightmare? Enough already. Love Mechanics was in a similar situation but DID add to the plot and it worked. Between Us didn't and doesn't.

Anyway, I find myself both bored and creeped out by WinTeam and ff to Bee and Tul's storylines - even Manow's romance is more interesting.

Opinions on this series are all on two complete opposite ends of the hate-love spectrum. Can't wait for the official…
It is fairly extreme. I'm in the "meh" camp. It's not awful, but it's not very good. For me it's the writing that's the problem - you can't take a side couple that had maybe 20 minutes of screentime total and stretch it to twelve episodes unless you have some new ideas, and they don't. As a result, we've had to watch the drowning memory several thousand times and there's more flashback than actual content. That might be a slight exaggeration for the sake of drama, but you know what I mean.

I don't consider being jugdmental about sex to be righteous or good. Anyone who doesn't like it shouldn't watch romances, because news flash, sex is extremely common in romantic relationships.

Rape or child molestation are a different thing, and comparing two young people sharing physical love with violent crimes is difficult to stomach - and I'd point out that a large part of he basis until about 25 years ago of making gay sex illegal was painting us as child-molesting rapists, so it's a bit of a sore subject. In the 1980s laws were being passed all over the place banning gays from teaching for that reason.

Please, for the love of God, no more Earth as a HS student. Enough already.
His first role was Tar the rape victim in Love By Chance - so someone said "Hey, that Earth guy is really good at crying. Let's cast him in every weepy role we can find."

Can someone explain the pearl-clutching at the idea of high school kids having sex? It's not illegal to have sex, it's illegal for an adult to have sex with a minor. Minors can f@$^ each other silly in high school - the age of consent in Thailand is 14, so as long as both are 14 and neither are over 18, they're in the clear. In most Western countries, if you're within a certain age difference, usually two years, it's fine. The purpose of age of consent laws is to prevent exploitation and abuse of people who are still immature by predatory adults, not to ban anyone under the age of 18 from doing what is totally natural for most people by the age of 12 or 13.

Good God. When did the Victorian era come back? Actually, that's a misconception. Victorians banged like rabbits - they just pretended not to.

Anyway, the boys are really cute - I hope the BDSM isn't as cringe as it usually is in BL. It was LOL funny in Unforgotten Night.

You know I am starting to feel deprived. I have reached my age without ever falling and landing on some hottie's…
On the other hand, if that were really to happen, there would be blood and teeth everywhere.

I liked it but it was kind of boring. Nothing really happened to advance the story. Well, maybe a few things, but not 40 minutes' worth.

That Phayu is hottt. The body on that boy - and so beautiful.

whoever styled Mark this ep deserves an award fr! baby looking like a whole snack wearing that sleeveless sweats…
OK, I'm glad I'm not the only one obsessing over him - hopefully next week they'll feature his legs, because if you stalk... I mean peruse his instagram, they're especially nice.
On My School President Jan 14, 2023
That was wonderful. It's not as good as the first few episodes, but it was a step up from last week. I liked that they didn't stretch out the lack of communication too far - one more scene of someone shying away would have been irritating, especially if they didn't resolve it this episode, but I really loved how they confessed - it's so refreshing to see two equals in a pairing. I don't have a problem with power imbalances - that can be hot - it's just that BL tends to have exactly the same one in every series, so this is a real treat, and it just makes me feel good.

Also, Tiw was in this one a lot, and had his arms bare almost the entire episode. Maybe next week he can do short shorts.

Two surprises - Mark (Tiw) can act, and even more surprising, so can Satang (Sound). I thought he was the weak link in the cast, but he was great in this ep - the look of vulnerability and need after his kiss with Win was one of he most affecting moment of the ep for me.

The second couple in History4 were the best in the whole franchise - one of the only pairs with complex characters…
Nobody complained about the other couple, even though when Mu Ren had overdosed on drugs, Li Cheng not only didn't call emergency services to a potentially fatal condition, he touched him inappropriately - which is sexual assault, and Mu Ren was considerably less responsive and aware than Xing Si was when he was drunk. That's where I get "judgmental". People had predecided who is good and who is bad, and judged everything they did unequally and hypocritically.

The difference is that Li Cheng was given a free pass, whereas what Yong Jie did was portrayed in the series as sinister and totally wrong, not romantic. That Xing Si forgave him doesn't make it "romantic", it makes Xing Si forgiving.

I have no problem with people not liking morally flawed situations and characters, but then dislike all of it, don't excuse bad behavior because you like the characters or couple.

The second couple in History4 were the best in the whole franchise - one of the only pairs with complex characters…
The point is people have varying interests. Some people like the same "model of couple", i.e. tall, cold seme, useless uke with tons of cliches like hair dring, accidental kisses, and gross orange q-tip dabbing - and I find that numbingly boring because it's so overdone. The couples were interesting in MODC, but the ending....

A lot of people liked the second couple in H4 - and other people worked themselves into a frenzy over them in some weird judgmental group-think.
