I wish a Thai person would clarify if 'elderly' is the actual translation, because I have a feeling subbers made…
Yes, but it's not out of character for Neung's mother - and she wouldn't let Palm be punished in any way that leaves him unable to protect Neung.
I'm really finding this story element tiresome - it's not very believable, and it's not entertaining or interesting to watch. If they keep it up, I doubt even all the Pond & Phuwin shirtlessness will be enough to keep me watching.

I don't buy it. Palm will have visible and serious contusions from being hit by the chair, and likely fractures. Phum also started by attacking Neung, who is there as a witness and whose family is rich and powerful. Phum would be crucified.
Yeah I freaking HATE jock with nerd trope. Its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO overdone in BL, in manga, in fanfiction, EVERYWHERE!…
It's uke and seme - it's a funamental element of BL - there is always an uke, who is more effeminate, weak, useless (although he's allowed to be good at cooking or music) and needing protection, guidance, shoe-tying, piggy-back rides, damp towel wipe-downs bandaging whenever the uke inevitably cuts himself if he strays within 100 meters of a sharp object, care in the infirmary when the uke gets hit in the head by a basketball if he strays within 100 meters of a court, being caught and stared at for 45 minutes whenever he trips over his own feet, etc.
The seme is always (with the sole exception of when Saint is the uke) taller, almost always older, stronger, more masculine, etc.
It's because BL is written entirely by women who can't imagine a romantic dynamic that isn't male-female, so they just drop a man into the 12-year old Victorian-era virgin role they imagine for the uke, who is usually just a stand-in for the author fantasizing about being with Pond or whoever the seme of the story is.
Thank you for providing an opportunity to get that off my chest. I need to vent from time to time.
Occassionally the story strays from this strict model and it's wonderful, but very rare.
BL can't live without it's useless ukes and superman semes.
He got hit from behind by a chair, then despite that nearly beat Phum to death without raising a sweat. Although to be fair, BL characters can't raise a sweat even when they run across town in a suit in the middle of the afternoon.
I'm being slowly driven insane by the totally inappropriate dance music. He was playing a march on the piano and the "elderly" were doing a 4-step. It never matches. Come on, it's not that hard.
But that's not really important. What is important is how predictable this is, and the ridiculousness of the plot. How was the fight Palm's fault? He got a little carried away, but at least he didn't bludgeon someone with a chair! Is there no adult supervision? And the bully storyline is tiresome. He's going to start a fight at a dance? Come on.
TBH, I would drop this if they didn't keep taking Pond's shirt off. Actually, Phuwin has a great body too. I'll take one of each.
I know Ben is annoying, but Chimon is doing an awesome job playing him. He's the only character that's managed any ambiguity about his motives. My guess is he's malicious, but redeemable through (Chopper's) love.
I checked, and you're the only person who liked it. Which is fine - I'm quite happy that you did. But I don't…
This series has definitely been an inspiration to me. I think it might be the best review I've ever written, not that that's saying much.
Oxygen is semi-saved by PhuKao. Also, I think there's a tendency to look at Nut in a different light now - I was pretty sure he was one of the most awful actors in BL, but he was so good in Something In My Room that I realized it's the director that must be awful and not him.
Why not? That's still longer than a feature film. But a plot twist isn't what makes a story good or dramatic,…
To me side couples should serve a purpose - even if it's to contrast against the main couple. Sometimes (usually) the side couples are more compelling because they're not shackled by whatever the "schtik" of the series is (e.g. "the boy who lost his smile" in Oxygen) and are less crippled by strict adherence to the seme/uke model. If the side couple has absolutly nothing to do with the story or any of the othere characters, then it gets irritating if the main couple's story isn't handled well.
On the other hand, it can be even more irritating if a great side couple doesn't get enough attention or resolution (e.g. in My Tooth Your Love).
Any length can work well if the story is written to fit the length - a ten minute short can be as complete and memorable as a 24-hour marathon like Miracle of Teddy Bear. If you try to do a twelve 45-min episode series in ten 20-minute episodes, it will fail - just like it will fail if you stretch a ten 20-min ep series into twelve 45-min eps.

I wasn't actually disagreeing with you - a series isn't necessarily better because it's longer - it's often a different experience with more fluff, extraneous material, and non-essential characters and their storylines, which some people like - but more often than not the series has enough plot to fill 2 hours and gets padded until it's repetitive, frustrating, and tiresome.
On the other hand, sometimes a shorter series attempts to do too much and ends up feeling rushed and unsatisfying. That's why writing is so important and so, so neglected, with everything being adaptations of written works rather than original scripts. That leads to a lot of "tell, don't show" and ideas that work on page but not in a visual medium - and usually written works are too long to squeeze into a short series, or even a long one.
So what's the solution? I'd say productions should try original scripts. But BL isn't really a creative field, it's a cash grab based on repetitive tropes and cliches with occassional passion thrown in, like Choco Milk Shake or even My School President, which is entirely lacking in originality but so much love has gone into the production that it doesn't matter.
Couldn't agree more. AND, why are they heading for a bunker - the world is going to pretty much explode so how…
They should probably have just said it's a meteor like the one that killed the dinosaurs - but then they wouldn't get to use their huge moon special effects. If the moon were that close it would cause giant earthquakes and tsunamis, plus i would break up due to Earth's gravity.
It's funny that we don't have problems with ghosts, but astrophysics is wherer we cross the line. TBH, I have to turn my brain off with BL so often this isn't a deal-killer for me, although it does bug me. I was more irritated with a CEO using a copy machine in Cutie Pie - I doubt a CEO has ever even seen a copy machine, let alone operated one. Also, nobody uses paper at work anymore.
Fourth is so beautiful it hurts to look at him. Even when he's not in a swimming suit, which was nearly fatal…
I want to hump Tiw's muscle-bound legs - so sexy.
But BL is full of hot guys, and like you said, what's special here is they're doing a great job with the acting - and singing. Fourth has a lot of range, and communicates so much with reasonably subtle looks, and Gemini is totally convincing as someone experiencing first love - and I like that he's not agonizing over it being a guy.
And even that's not enough - the writing and dialog is what pushes this over the top.
I've tried to like this series, but I'm not quite there. I like the idea, I love the cast, but I don't really enjoy it.
The group of killers seems extraneous to me - the world is about to end and there's plenty of inherent drama already. I guess there's a contrast to be drawn about how people approach the end of the world, but what psychopaths do isn't really relevant to the human condition because they aren't really human.
But beyond that, after the 47,567th interruption of their unnecessarily tortuously drawn out attempts to kiss it stopped being anything but intensely irritating, and I don't understand why all the background music is Christmas carols. There was a riff on a Chopin etude and they used a Bach cello suite at the wedding, so they do have access to better music.
I just don't feel the story is really progressing or going anywhere. I like a lot of the dialog - like how older characters do have a lot of experience and have insightful things to say without overgeneralizing or being pompous. There are a lot of posiives, but it feels like a missed opportunity - there's a lot of talent and love involved in this, but I'm struggling a little to get through it.
Also, I'm really tired of people crying. Thank God Fluke Natouch and Earth Katsamonnat aren't in this or I'd want to burn things down. And the world is ending. They should be having sex 24/7, not acting like Victorian schoolgirls. They're in their mid-20s.
This is missing the focused brilliance of Call It What You Want - hopefully we'll get a third season.
Was Choco Milk based on a manhwa too? I can't find anything if so, but you say both come from source material…
People here were saying it was, and that it was a threesome - which would have been... interesting, but not really what the BL audience is looking for.
I'm really finding this story element tiresome - it's not very believable, and it's not entertaining or interesting to watch. If they keep it up, I doubt even all the Pond & Phuwin shirtlessness will be enough to keep me watching.
