I actually like Check Out better than this. Yes, I hate all the Check Out characters and it's boring, but at least…
Check Out is not worth another go. I just ff through it looking for skin. Forth was sexy because he had a strong streak of bad boy. Tae Darvid was a hot Forth too, but unfortunately that never went anywhere.

That love scene with Beam... speaking of which, why couldn't they have cast Dome in the Duean Yi role?

Pavel's dulled appeal in this is all of the above that you mentioned. The overly strong soft-filter, how clean-cut they made him (and the bad hair). plus what's the point of casting a guy with a hot body if you're going to have him wear so many layers that you can't even tell, although I did giggle at the scene were the camera was intently focused on his a$$, He's also blandly nice, plus it's not sexy when as the audience you squirm with discomfort because an 80-year old pervert trapped in a young brat's body is oozing all over him.

In Call It What You Want it was OK because he was paired with the second most unappealing character and left us the sublime pairing of Daniel Cheng and Michael Kiettisak. But here he's in every f@#$ing scene so there's no escape.

It's almost all Jimmy & Sea, and forunately they're being generous with their bodies, which is always appreciated,…
There is nothing on right now that I can enjoy except Love Mechanics, which is the most generic story possible but saved by excellent acting directing, and the otherwise high-quality production, and Minato's Laundromat which is interesting for having an aggressive high school seme going after an adult. The reverse age difference is kind of hot.

Wow, I didn't think anyone could top Check Out, but this series has somehow managed.

Is Duean Yi more attractive by Thai standards than he is by... well, any standards? His personality is awful. Who would want to date an entitled whiny princess like him? Ugh.

Here's my fantasy scenario for this series: Duean dies.

That's as far as I got - after that anything could happen and it would be better than what we have.

If Duean dies, maybe Pleng would meet Duean's hot brother at the funeral and fall in love. Or maybe the guitarist with the muscles (Arthur from Second Chance! Yay!) But it looks like they're pairing him with the least appealing guy from Check Out - is that a statement, or what?

I'm not even feeling Pavel in this - his character is so dull and saccharine that he doesn't have that Forth sex appeal. They could at least have him take a shower or something.

I can't watch this - I feel bad for all the actors (except Benz, who ruins everything he's in) for being stuck in this, especially Pavel, who finally got a lead role and it had to be this.

Unpopular opinion: I want a Nuea Plen ship. Not sorry about this. When Nuea came onto the screen in the coffee…
I actually like Check Out better than this. Yes, I hate all the Check Out characters and it's boring, but at least I want to have sex with all of them. In this I'd actually enjoy watching Duean Yi be murdered. He is so icky and annoying,

I'd be fine with Pleng & Nuea, Pleng & Jean, Pleng & the mean guitarist with the muscles, Pleng with Duean's brother, even Pleng with Duean's father would be better. Anything but Duean.

I'm not even finding Pavel very attractive in this. He's pretty, but dull.

This isn't kindergarten, it's a romantic drama. Yes, I would like it if I was interested in a guy and it was like that, but it makes for a deadly boring series.

Many says that Duean is direct with his intentions here. But for me he's like the angry girlfriend in the BL series.…
It's not the first time I've wanted the love interest to end up with a supporting character, but it might be the first time I wish the main character would die.

I actually suffered through Tossara just for the minute glimpses of War - he was always a real standout as an actor (not to mention what he looks like). Yin was weak in comparison - but not anymore. He's improved so much that he's actually holding his own here, so I too am thrilled that they didn't recast anyone. Well, except Bar, which is a good thing, because the orignal Bar was so creepy I have a hard time belieing anyone would have cast him as a hearthrob without a huge bribe.

I get it's a series. But ALL of this could have been so easy to clarify. If ploy was really concerned or guilty…
That's likely true. But I will say that one thing I like about this series and that I think saves it from its formulaicism is that the characters don't fit into neat boxes. In a typical BL, Ploy would be evil and scheming, and would have kissed Vee because she spotted Mark approaching and wanted to f@#$ everything up. Here's she's weak and has low self-esteem, requiring the validation of a man's attention, which feels more real than the usual cartoon villainess.

Likewise, Vee isn't selfish, he's just too afraid to hurt people, so he doesn't draw the firm lines he needs to (like Bar did with Mark) which tends to backfire, and he doesn't have experience to keep away from dangerous situations. He's also confused about his sexuality, which for some reason a large part of the audience has ZERO sympathy for.

They can't ruin this, right? SciFi, cinematography, and Tonnam... they can't, right? Thai BL has proved it can ruin ANYHING, but not this. Please don't ruin this. Just let me have this one thing.

It's good enough to FF through to parts where people take their shirts off. But other than that it's dull and uninteresting with bad directing, editing, and scripting.

I think you mentioned that you lived in East Asia for a while. If it was long enough, then I think you exactly…
Asian cultures have a lot of health fixations that feel old-wives-talesish to a westerner. You won't die if you go outside with damp hair from a shower (although it's not recommended if the temperature is below freezing), if you're college-aged, you're not going to get a fever from studying a lot, or most of the human race would have died, etc.

But strangely, in BL people wear enough to feel uncomforably warm on an Antarctic expedition in countries that never fall below 30 degrees (like Thailand, with all the BL sweater-wearing.)

That's like saying Jesus seems nice compared to Hitler. As far as Thai BL goes, this is reasonably tight, and despite the breathtaking lack of originality, this has been so well done it's been enjoyable. But I was disappointed to rehash where we've already been in such a lazy way - it didn't ruin the series for me or anyhing, but it weakened the episode and interrupted the character development in a disappointing way.

Blaming the script is certainly legitimate. I don't think this series is very good for that exact reason - you can't really have a body-swap story if you haven't established the chracters before the swap.

But Jimmy showed some real power in Bad Buddy in that confrontation scene, and the sadness and loneliness of his character really comes through in this series. The problem isn't him.

Bro, did no one see that Prince is 12yrs old? and this is supposed to be a romance. this seems very questionable.
He's in a support role. And who cares anyway? 12-year olds do date each other all the time - as long as everyone is the same age it shouldn't be an issue. As long as they're not doing "adult" things.

I've never understood the layered dressing in Thai dramas. If you look at people on the street they are not wearing…
I grew up in California, which is quite hot in summer, but dry. I can't even wear a sweater in winter without getting hot, and it routinely gets to 56/13.

In the series, a boy can sprint for a mile and not break a sweat, but as you pointed out, in BTS they're drenched from just sitting in chairs.

The same reason they don't password protect their phones?
It's like none of them have ever had a parent or sibling. Or coworkers. Or are unaware that there are strangers all around them. All your financial systems are on it, your contacts, texts and photos you probably don't want casually perused, etc. Is there anyone on the entire planet that doesn't have their phone password protected? Even my 80-year old mother who can't set an alarm clock by herself has her phone password protected.
