It's surprisingly entertaining even if he's not BL, but the misleading advertising ought to be considered illegal…
I hated the first episode and thought I'd never watch it again, but they drew me in with shirtless Rak, and once I got used to the obnoxious laugh track I started to appreciate Earth & Win's excellent comic timing. Their hot bodies don't hurt, either.
Why? He's been horrible to her. Gram is a much better boyfriend.
I think some of the general hostility toward Gram is because there was a general hope that there might be something between him and Black, so his liking Eugene is to an extent "BL treason". Eugene isn't Black's girlfriend, and Gram is in love with her - that's not being a shitty friend if Eugene is viewed as a person and not a possession. If Black and Eugene were together, then yes, his behavior is bad - but wanting to take care of someone you love is not shitty, is it?
Also, are Eugene and Black even friends? Black doesn't really have any friends, and the only person he's shown he cares about is White. And maybe Todd, but that doesn't appear to have gone well. Speaking of which, I don't think things are going to end well for my baby. :(
Shipping doesn't have to make sense, but I'm taken a bit by surprise at the level of shippery for Black and Eugene which is rather sudden and based on one scene, and likewise the sudden antipathy for Gram who has had many sweet scenes with her, when everyone seemed to love him when they thought he might have a thing for Black based on flimsy evidence (I don't mean you specifically, I mean the audience in general).
Off has been really great in every single scene and this ep he again becomes Sean so perfectly, everything he…
Not to mention that he's hot.
My feeling about Gun is that he's nailed White, but I'm not as convinced by his Black, but then he's spent 100 X more time in the White character. That's why I put Off on top. I felt his role was more demanding this ep than Gun's. The thing about twin scenes is that although they've done them well, obviously the actor is not doing both roles at the same time - it's all spliced together so it's kind of impossible to be as exciting as when it's two people reacting off each other - kind of like why when actors are on a green screen pretending there's a dragon in front of them it's not quite right.
For twin magic, I guess it's a staple of drama, but there's no evidence for it. Because identical twins are identical, the same age, and usually grow up together, there's going to be a degree of knowing what your sibling is thinking, but zero evidence for a telepathic connection. But I should probably chill about that. It's not really supported by scientific evidence that 99% of boys in Thailand are into other boys either, but I don't really question that, lol.
I'm hoping it is a BL because most of the promotional material + the ost mv makes it seem as though they will…
I would think that Rak would have strangled Diao by now unless he had a crush on him. Or at least fired him. And Freud might say Diao is sexually obsessed with Rak the way he's always mad at him for nothing. If there are only 10 eps, they need to get moving - only 3 left. The shirtless wrestling was a bit not-exactly-hetero, but other than that, nothing overt.
Is this actually a BL, or is it only in that girl's story about then? Diao definitely checked out Rak in Ep 5, but he didn't seem too hot and bothered wrestling around with shirtless Rak.
i can't believe that i just saw 2 epiisdes in a row without subs !the reason: Rak is soooo damn freaking Hot !!!…
I love how they're not even pretending they're not exploiting his body. Although if I were built like that, I'd never wear a shirt. The smirk, face, hair, awesome wardrobe, voice... actually, it would be faster to list what's NOT hot about him. So here's the list of things:
The cast of this is wonderful. I actually think Off was out-acting Gun this episode. On top of that he has a rare abandon when being physical - he puts his whole body into a hug, for example, rather than that usual BL hug where the guys are standing with their torsos a foot apart (which is maintained all the way through the sex) and really just touching upper chests. Actually I thought Fluke was weak this episode after blowing everyone else out of the water in the scene where Yok sketched him - that's still the peak acting scene of this series so far to me.
Did we know Gumpa had all that going on under that shirt? I wasn't ready.
What I don't like is the story leaning on the magic twin connection. Black's realization that he shouldn't try to control White didn't come from him, it came from, well, magic. Also, while the setup for this series is totally ridiculous (i.e. someone replaceing their evil twin in Marxist motorcycle gang), but it is going for realism and the magic stuff is out of place. In a normal fantasy BL, it would barely even register as unusual, but here it's distracting and undermines the emotional impact of what's going on. It's a common BL failing - relying on external circumstances for people to feel things. The most common example is that boys never consider another boy until he catches him when he trips and they stare with their faces inches from each other for 15 hours or however long it takes to turn them gay.
This was a bit of a setup episode - normally that bores me, but it was really needed here and this series has been speeding all over the place, so a bit of regrouping was good for this point. Normally Ep 12 of 14 is reserved for a ridiculous and implausible failure of communication causing the leads to temporarily turn into totally different characters in order to break up in a maddening bit of manufactured drama, so it was nice they stuck to the program.
Why is everyone so hostile to Gram? Why would anyone want to see Black with Eugene over Gram? Do you all hate Eugene and want to punish her?
I get what you mean. One thing I liked about the time jump is that we didn't get any dramatics about Thorn's leg.…
Something would have happened that got Dome revved up, and the scene would have been something like Vee is in bed and the door slams open and Dome's menacing silhouette is in the opening - Vee tells him to leave but he doesn't, advances on him, Vee tries to resist but can't and they have nearly violent passionate sex, or which it's only necessary to show the kissing and starting to strip each other (but I wouldn't say no to more).
Nice Vitchapol and Aof Sutiwas (Lukmo and Yok) pulled it off in Make It Right 2, which is not exactly the exemplar of a quality series and neither of them are what you'd generally think of as classically "hot", so these two smoldering hunks should have set us all on fire.
But they wouldn't love each other less if they didn't do it, so they might as well, right? All things being the…
Those are good points. It was very rushed - it might have seemed more natural if they'd ever done anything previously rather than Jun Ho just wanting to get laid before dying - if they'd been more open, then it would have been a decision made together, so thinking about it, I agree with you about your original point.
I really WANT to like this one... but I have completely lost the tapestry of this entire series and have no idea…
I think the best thing to do is just give up on trying to find meaning in this and just look at the pretty Milk. Although I really like your idea of turning off the subtitles and making up my own story. I tried it, but it doesn't work because nothing ever happens, and I end up making it dirty. The conversation between Milk and the fiance was all about Pun's generous endowmnet and who could deep-thoat it better. They decided on a contest to settle the issue, but parted on negative terms because they couldn't agree on whether or not spectators should be charged for admission. Pun returned and asked if he'd like to practice now, but Milk wasn't in the mood.
I ran the Thai title through two translators. One came up "I have a pain in your body" which sounds sexual, and "My body aches, my heart aches". If you replaced the word "aches" with "is numb", then that would describe what watching this is like.
That was a great kiss, though. It wasn't too steamy, but it felt like two guys kissing and not like two actors doing something icky for a paycheck. Son is so cute that he still looks cute even wearing 1970s cult-leader glasses. And he's so tiny - his brother looked so small next to Dr Pun, but in turn he looks huge next to Son. So cute.
However, what the f#$% is this series about? There's no discernable plot.
Okay, I’ve watched 6 eps and I’ve read the synopsis but besides being a bl I am still trying to work out wtf…
To be fair, most of what you said is applicable to 90% of BLs. I agree with all this, and I can tell you why I watch it. Son is so cute I can't not watch it. End of reasons. Well, also Dr Pun looks really good in muscle shirts. And no shirt. So I'm shallow. I'm not ashamed.
As for what their jobs are, Milk apparently does marketing which he does in a dormatory for wayward youth that sleep all day and drink all night. Dr Pun is s his title suggests, some sort of dmedical scientist participating in an experiment about a new type of treatment. He is the placebo.

That was everything I could think of.
