I was so in love with Dr Thara - so sad. Maybe they'll do a Manner of Death sequel with Inspector M and Dr Oat solving crimes in between bouts of crazed sex and lingering shower scenes. Their sidekicks could be That and Sorawit who help them solve crimes between THEIR wild sex and lingering shower scenes.

OK, that was a good teaser from a production standpoint, and that in itself is encouraging, because there are clearly talented people involved if this gets made.

But note that this is not a trailer and doesn't really have any relation to whatever is eventually made - it's all filmed in a studio with just a couple of actors - remember the last trailer, which looked like there was a complete series in the can? Well, none of that happened. When there are this many problems with a production, it rarely comes to fruition - although sometimes it does. But usually a bad result if there are large creative differences. Anyway, here's hoping for the best!

I would be happy if they were fetishizing their bodies, but they're not even doing that except in the thumbnails. It's just a big mess with an incomprehensible plot and we don't even get skin as a consolation. Although Emil does wear really tight t-shirts. Who thought anyone wanted a BL about a scheming pregnant maid?

Totally agree with everything you said - but I was mostly talking about the horrible female characters. I think BL writers must have had a lot of negative experiences in high school with other women or something.

I was annoyed with the skinny guy at the beginning - I don't think that actor did sassy very well, but he did a great job with the more serious parts.

I enjoyed that - but - and maybe I'm too tired for my brain to work correctly, I don't understand the ending. I'm impressed they did almost the whole thing in a continuous shot.

Well, I'm in it for Ohm & Ken, who have only been paired with girls, so I can get over it.

I saw the otherwise tepid Deal Lover and thought, "Damn, that boy Ohm is hot - I wish he were in a BL couple!" During Lovely Writer, I was bored and wanted to give it up, but Ken kept appearing on my screen and I'm obsessed with him. So to have these be a pair... I needed medication.

Again, a BL character is unable to stray within 50 meters of a basketball court/football field without getting injured. The Thai government should ban sports. They're obviously too dangerous as the casualty rate is 100%.

You didn't tell me you liked Ken. I've watched the scene in the changing room from Lovely Writer thousands of times.

I think this is a different director - all he's done so far other than this is TT2.

The guy who did LBC is a very experienced and able director - if he were doing this show I doubt we'd be having this conversation.

One of my complaints about BL in general is the seme/uke thing, where the uke is a stereotypical 19th century virgin girl dropped into the role. Why can't ukes be more like Elizabeth in Pride & Prejudice? Why do they all have to be so petty and useless? Fiat can't even descend a staircase without injuring himself.

Anyway, the trope strikes me as somehow misogynist - the genre in general is horribly misogynist, especially this author's work.

Yes, the watch removal was particularly mood-killing. I like Ja and Smart a lot, and James (Pob) has been good so far, so I'm hoping the series finds some direction and doesn't meander around cake-anger and jealousy for 12 eps.

I totally agree that redemption of characters is a common trope - but redemption isn't usally reached in the second episode, and not by rewriting the characters "sins" to actually not be sins, e.g. promiscuity for the purpose of hurting someone else suddenly becomes heroically saving people from abuse. If redemption is what this is about, then let's see him redeeom himself, and have less time consumed by sulking over very small cakes in fancy boxes.

Leon, on the other hand, is changing because he's fascinated by Pob - largely because Pob keeps rejecting him - and because Pob is such a good person, he wants to be a better person to be worthy of him. That's fitting the classical mold and is a much more compelling story. The search for self is an important quality in good stories. It's why everyone loves ITSAY and GSP (among other things).

As for the love scene, there's nothing wrong with being vanilla. But don't have someone say "I can't hold back anymore!" and then follow it with something so passionless - vanilla doesn't have to be passionless - some of the most exciting love scenes are vanilla.

If Leon is expriencing shyness, then let's see it - there was no pain or awkwardness in his expression, no uncertainty in his movement - it was just a robotic formula. And if he's shy, then let's see Fiat do something to make him more comfotable instead of just laying there. That's not Ja or First's fault, it's the directing.

Kissing his hand didn't match where they are and what Leo just said. They are adults in an adult relationship, and Leo just said he can't hold back anymore. "I can't hold back anymore" is not a shy line, and nobody says "I can't control myself - I have to kiss your hand really slowly!" Zero passion. Do you think it's romantic to pause and remove your watch?

Fiat specifically said he was bothered because he thought the cake was from Leo and that he was embarassed because he'd been so visibly happy about it. If he was upset Leo went to his house, he would have said so.

I actually don't think you're exaggerating about TT - except you left out several long montages in slo-mo showing all their good times together played to a sad ballad. But my point isn't that they take too long to resolve things, it's that there so many childish things to resolve and no actual plot.

And more importantly, that Fiat has not only been drained of everything that made him interesting, they're also rewriting his motivations to make them somehow noble. That's not character development. It's hand-waving things away.

Yes, I'm engaged enough to give it a little more time - engaged with the Pob-Leon story - but the main couple need to get a more substantial storyline than pouting over trivial things and being jealous for no apparent reason.

So, that ended. For 417 couples, the success rate was pretty low. 1/417. Did Aof get trapped on an island by COVID or something? Doesn't he have a smartphone? Why just his voice?

I know it's not simple at all to stop a production, then start it up months later - Cupid Coach did it and they obviously couldn't get all the actors and the story took an extremely sharp turn in another direction - but they should have just ended on a cliffhanger and maybe tried to get a movie put together after COVID. The whole series was pointless - only one couple got to the finish line!

You could tell Copy's scenes from this ep were filmed earlier - he was back to the horrible styling they've done for him. His "months later" look made him 10 times more attractive. I didn't even notice him until Ep 14.
