i am so frustrated with this show now! lukmo and simai were my favorite couple but not anymore. why did they have…
I think you can pretty much be sure that they're not the second one, and if the first, what difference does it make? They've never met before and there's no family dynamic at all.
If you're the only person who can see the blindingly obvious, then yes. :) Otherwise there's not much point to this series, because that would be a little dark for a BL. Strangely hot, but dark.
It was good. I didn't feel the ending was quite earned, but it worked better than 99% of all other BL endings.
This story was very conventional, and so was the production. Everything was really good, but it didn't have the magic of its predecessor. It's a 9/10 for me.
I hope all the other production companies will note that perfect abs and zero % body fat can never equal real acting ability.
After sleeping on episode 5, my mind is clear now and I can truly say this without bias, ipytm was simply not…
I'm with you. What I think was missing was the quirkiness, sense of magic, and emotional authenticity. I didn't quite feel the ending was earned. This is still wonderful and amazing, and maybe the second or third best BL series ever, but it's not ITSAY. Remember what a weirdo Teh was?
I give them 2 years at best. I would have picked Q.
Would someone please put Kaleb Ong in a good series? I feel like he insulted an old gypsy woman and is condemned to spend his life in bad productions.
This series was off to a good start given it's a zero-budget amateur production, but a 5 year old with an iPhone could have done a better job than this. It would have been better to have just abandoned the series than to bother making this final ep, which just erased any positive feeling the audience may have had towards this series.
at least with the korean shows like To My Star and Color Rush etc. they focused almost completely on the (2) main…
It could work fine, but the problem is they're structuring each ep to be 20 minutes long and self-contained, which is not enough time, so it feels like it moves slightly, resets, moves slightly, resets, etc. If each ep were designed more like a segment of a longer ep, like a Thai weekly ep divided into 4 parts, it would work - but as it is, even Korean BLs feel like there's more development.
WHY has it taken until episode 7 to get any of the 2nd couples development on-screen?? we've barely seen them…
I feel like the second couple has gotten about as much attention as second couples usually get and they've steadily progressed. The main couple I agree is going a bit slow, but the episodes are short, and they started out enemies, so they can't make the change too abrupt or it isn't believable. They're going to opposite extremes, though, and after the end of this ep, there's no excuse for not getting it moving.
Well, the second couple has hit the finish line. Now the lead couple finally took up the baton and are on track.…
For me, Aaron Lai's looks are too severe and I like Hank Wang a lot more, but this ep, without his hair done up and looking all vulnerable and lonely Aaron was seriously doing it for me. And that scene at the end...
Why I keep watching it while it's trible, I am watching it on X2 speed and still it's slow, if there were good…
It's funny, I'm usually the one who doesn't like fluffy BLs like this, but this time it's working for me. Aaron Lai's expressions are subtle, but they are there - he's playing an extremely repressed character. I really felt his vulnerability and loneliness in this ep, and that hug scene was cute as f#$%. Are you in a bad mood? I don't like anything about BL when I'm in a bad mood. I get overly irritated by tropes and formulaic scenes, and this BL has a good share of them. I thought for sure the director would trip on something when he was tired and get caught by Shi Lei and they would stare at each other for 45 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised when that didn't happen.
I see your point about the slowness - I noticed the same thing negatively in the other couples. What makes it…
That makes sense. ITSAY is so far beyond all other Thai BLs that I'm not sure it should even be classified as a BL. It's not adapted from a bad novel and fully exploits the visual medium, packed with visual metaphor and symbolism like GSP, and tries the rare experiment of hiring actors for acting ability rather than their abs. If you haven't seen it, you might like Hello Stranger which is also fairly tightly written and uses the visual medium effectively. The first ep is mediocre, though.
I've been impressed with Kanok - he's giving an impressive performance, and doubly so for a beginner. That was heartbreaking.
