I usually like a story with slow burn. This had slow and burn, but only separately and literally.

I still don't understand why anyone would go see a film in that theater. I mean, at least bring a fire extinguisher with you.

Actually Puth (in Y-Destiny) is awful - he was dating Wayu and sleeping with Kaeng - sorry, but I would never trust someone like that. I give them 3 months max before they break up.

ITSAY & Gaya Sa Pelikula both had excellent screenplays with complex and nuanced stories - did you enjoy them?

It was adorable when Sky threw a rock at Sun's head and ordered him not to dodge it and never apologized?

I was amazed they managed to do the trip/catch/stare until gay thing FIVE times. Although one was boy/girl, so nobody turned gay for that one. Yet.

This is awful, but Boat is so hot I'll deal.

So I agree about Sat/Choke - I loved the first ep, and then it just competely deflated in the second. This is another case where if feels like the crew, director, and writer of the first ep all died in a plane crash along with the only copy of the script and were replaced by whoever they could drag off the street.

What happend? Choke's character had depth and a hint of darkness, Sat had flashes of memories he wouldn't have if he were 11, suggesting he has amnesia, and then poof! It all collapsed into dreck.

What I can't agree about is Nuea. That is not courting, that's the pizza guy in a gay porn. "Oh, you ordered that with sausage? I've got a bit sausage right here!" He came on so strong it was sexual harassment bordering on assault. And it was certainly not non-sexual - it was so hyper sexual that I had a hard time even watching it it was so squicky.

That's not demonstrating his feelings for Sun, it was saying he wanted to throw his legs over Sun's shoulders and get pounded for days.

If Sun had been a girl, 99% of viewers would have found Nuea's behavior disturbing. So why any different if it's a man?

Kaeng was no better, but at least he and Puth had an understanding that their relationship was purely sexual.

Ah, sorry, yes, that dinner. I was thinking of the wrong one and I thought maybe you were a psychopath or something for a minute there.

I don't think any characters at all need to be physically perfect. They just need to know how to act.

They did the fall so faces are close together and stare forever thing not once, not twice, but FIVE times - four in the first half. Also, the whole all the male characters are straight, but they'll go gay for just one special guy thing is so tiresome I almost gave up. Fortunately Sun said he's not interested in women - maybe not at all?

I liked Gun as Techno, but this role is underscoring his limitations as an actor - he has almost no presence as a protagonist. I really loathe that he's constantly TELLING us what he's feeling instead of acting it.

Boat, on the other hand, is a rare find - not only is he almost unbelievably beautiful, he did a great acting job too - I can feel his loneliness and alienation, and his attempt to dance was hilarious. I can SEE what he's feeling because he's acting it, not telling us.

When Sky said he provoked the (not) villain guy because he knew Sun would defend him, it was played as a positive by both characters, when it was morally the worst thing that anyone did in the episode. Trying to provoke a violent response for someone else to deal with is repugnant, and he added groteque hypocrisy by getting upset with Sun for using too much force. And he never apologized to Sun for throwing a rock at his HEAD after ordering him to stand still. I actually hate Sky at this point. Can Sun get matched up with Bank instead? Or even Peach?

All-in-all it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it was not good either. I'm hoping it either goes more OTT or it focuses on interesting side characters, because the main pair has no chemistry. So far at least. Although Boat has chemistry with anything he's in the same room with just by existing.

I forgot about Bright/Farm. Actually I can barely remember anything about all the TWM series except that it was the same thing over and over and over and Max should have murdered Tul and moved on to someone who wouldn't leave him for his ex every other day.

Got it, and I agree. I was surprised that there were so many people that didn't see the romantic connection between them.

I thought maybe it's because neither of them tripped and was caught by the other upon which they stared at each other with their faces awkwardly close together until they turned gay.

You felt SYMPATHY for Kaeng at the dinner? I wanted him dead. That was the most excuciating scene I've ever watched in a BL - it took be hours to get through it. His behavior was totally unforgivable, which is maybe one reason why I felt nothing for this couple - he was so petty, spiteful and horrible. I'm genuinely interested to hear how you could possible find that behavior sympathetic. To me that was a clear indicator of malignant narcissism or even sociopathy.

I think you're finding motivations that a creative mind (that should be writing BLs) can insert, but I doubt any of that was intended by the writers of this series, who are just bad.

While what you say makes sense, I think the part about the teacher is a stretch - that was unambiguously presented as a sincere and rather strong interest, with all the standard BL cues, and if Puth was having the inner feelings you describe, we got absolutely zero indication of it - as far as we saw it was an unmotivated and sudden change of heart. So even if they intended his feelings to be your version, the execution was terrible.

I suppose that's the nature of art (although that's a really strong word to use in this case) - people get different things from it. I didn't buy the chemistry of this couple, and other people couldn't even detect the chemistry in Country Boy.

It was nice to have deleted scenes to watch, but they were all deleted for a reason and I think they were all unnecessary to the story.

It was the secondary couple at around 1:15. The wording is a "variation on a theme". In any case, this looks like a checklist of tropes and my only interest in it is the bodyguard guy is f@#$ing smoking hot. I'm shallow.

Piggyback carry? Check.
Faces get too close & stare forever? Check.
University students? Check.
I'm guessing at least one main character is an engineer, but I can't check the box without evidence.

Predictions:

- Someone will display a fear of ghosts.
- There will be a loud trans or effeminate gay character who paws and screeches over boys.
- There will be a fujohsi who makes annoying squealing noises.
- There will be an implausble communications failure
- Someone will be dabbed with a damp towel to cure whatever is wrong with them (bonus if it's a fever caused by being rained on)
- All the characters are rich.
- Someone will throw up from drinking and likely have total memory wipe.

None of these will sound unlikely to you.

I will say that I was impressed that a character had a hard-on for another one. Blatant displays of sexuality are usually not allowed.

I disagree - I think it was unambiguously BL. But I totally agree with 2. He's... ugh, I can't stand it. In 5 years I'll need defibrillation whenever he appears onscreen.

Totally agree - the undertone was more like undertow before a big wave hits. I really don't know how anyone could watch the swing scene and miss it. Is BL starting to condition us to need someone to act like a porn character for us to see it as "romance"? It's all about subtle touches, glances, and body language - too many BL characters come on like a bulldozer. I don't mind if it ends up in raunchy sex, but it has to start right, and this started right.
