I did not say her actions were justified anywhere. I am talking on the level of writing saying I am worried about the writing of her character. Not talking about "Go Yu Rim is a real person let's discuss whether she's good or bad" I'm reflecting on the way she is presented in the show as a character which is always valid for a viewer to do lol.

I still really do not think Yu Rim is a bad person but the thing is that this episode and the storyline for this episode required her to fully be in the Bad Guy position so that the storyline and emotions would land. They wouldn't have been able to do this storyline if she just accepted the loss with a good attitude, right? I don't dislike the writing but I do feel bad that everyone is just hating her completely now just because the story stuck her into that role. I think it would have been worse if she were making a big deal out of things despite knowing she lost but the way they show it I think she really does believe she was faster and that she has been wronged. Of course her feelings are affecting her perception but it's not like she's just lying maliciously, I think if she had really lost in a clear way she wouldn't be acting so drastically, but she seems to believe she was treated unfairly just as much as Heedo does. I'm not excusing her behaviors, I think her actions are really frustrating, but I still sympathize with her. I hope the writing does not let me down going forward because I feel like if people are just totally hating her for the rest of the show no matter what growth she has then that's really unfortunate and means they kind of fumbled the writing a bit 😕 I guess it's just a little disappointing seeing everyone act like she's irredeemable and evil and I wonder if the show meant to take it that far. I hope I'm not the only one who is still hoping the best for her character arc 😅

My god 😳 I really can't imagine them doing this and I certainly hope not. That's far too loaded to just surprise drop into a drama like that. I really cannot see that happening.

Endearing is a really good word for it, I feel you completely! It's one of those dramas that squeezes into your heart. I find myself thinking about it all the time throughout the week :)

Same here! Usually I really feel those hour long episodes but these ones seem to fly by.

I totally welcome everyone's opinions, this should be a place where critique is welcome too, but it is definitely interesting to me to see some people say they find this drama slow or boring because I feel so differently! I agree it's not an action packed drama but wow, I really feel like they have packed so much storytelling in already, I have been forgetting that only 6 episodes have aired and that we're not even halfway through yet 😅 There are dramas that go all over the place and struggle to accomplish in their whole run what this one already has. I feel like this is a drama people are going to write essays about, there is already so much to work with. Of course there is more I would like to see but we have many episodes ahead. Excited!

Sounds like it's not for you. No drama can please everybody even if it has a lot of fans. If you're not enjoying it you can move on, don't force yourself to keep watching. Those of us who are loving it are not here just because of Nam Joo Hyuk or anything but because we genuinely think this drama is amazing. If you don't that's fine. Hope you find one you like better :) Cheers!

So I do agree with most people here that those scenes are weaker than the rest of the show. However I wouldn't want them omitted as I do think they are necessary to the bigger narrative of the show, and needed to anchor us to the present as we move through the years of the past with a sense of nostalgia. I wish they were executed/acted a little better but I don't think they're useless, they have a function for sure.

I really hope so too :(
