Despite the MDL low rating, I gave this a chance after seeing a clip on TikTok. Yes, it's low budget, yes, it’s quite an ordinary story but dare I say, it was more enjoyable than many 2025 cdramas I’ve seen.
🌸 Sweet romance with arranged marriaged trope. 🌸 Prince ML who is pretending to be crippled. He wants to escape the palace. 🌸 FL is the epitome of "Fake it till you make it". Hired to be his substitute bride, and wants nothing to do with him. 🌸 First half is lots of comedy (the leads bickering, FL trying to heal his fake legs). Second half is more serious palace politics stuff.
❌ The ending was ok but could have been executed better. I didn’t like how FL was written in the final scene with the villain (final episode). ❌ ML acting was lacking. I really needed him to be more expressive. But his cute face made up for it.
OVERALL: If you want a sweet rom-com, with some simple palace politics and the type to “turn off your brain while watching”, I recommend it.
I wholeheartedly award this drama as the most romantic xianxia 💖💖💖 It’s hard to describe my feelings but the best I can say is that watching the leads made me scream, giggle and kick my feet. Despite the simple and somewhat weak plot, the core and strength of the drama lies in the romance. You will love this for the romance, for the undeniable chemistry between the leads, for the spicy and beautiful kiss scenes, for the perfect touch-her-and-you-die male lead. If you are a hopeless romantic, you will love this for sure, as this is one of those stories that make you fall in love with love! I highly recommend it.
The mortal arc was sooo boring compared to everything else. Instead of the cliche palace stuff, they could have given us more fun scenes with amnestic SJ, while the evil demon is lurking.
The first half was so good but the plot in the second half was weak, too rush and not properly fleshed out. It got repetitive: she doesn’t remember, he doesn’t remember, he dies, she dies. It was quite bizarre how LTY had like 100 different cores etc 🙄
LTY dying was typical… I didn’t like the execution but the visuals of her floating away from him were so good 👏🏻
10 min screen time of the modern world was really good! I like how they met and tied it with the mortal arc. Whether he remembers or not it doesn’t matter because the drama already showed us they will always love each other. I’m happy with this 💖
Ngl, that earthquake is exactly how I actually pictured them having s*x 😂😂😂 FINALLY the truth is revealed. The whole earthquake scene was top notch. When HY dropped the mask, it was the hottest thing ever. Lifting the bookshelf with ONE FINGER. ELITE. And SSY reaction 👏🏻👏🏻 Gosh why did the episode end there?!?!?!?!?
I’m honestly ready for GT to leave SWL at this point. SO done hearing about the imaginary omega SWL hates because he is jealous. I NEED MOREEEE. Yes, 1 episode a week is testing my patience and I’m at my limit. Can the remaining 6 episodes just air already 😩😩😩
I only watched this for the main couple, and mannn, their power over me was unreal. I didn’t even like the plot and yet I finished it (with lots of skipping of course) 😂
🌸 Vicious, cold & badass ML (but a softie towards his wifey). Ding Yuxi stole the show and I yet again fell in love with his character here 💖
🌸 Smart & cute FL. I really liked the actress. Although be aware, FL is a total damsel in distress.
🌸 Enemies to lovers + arranged marriage + fake dating + slow burn + bickering, were all the combined tropes here, and I love all of them, so it was no brained why I finished this 😂
❌ Boring plot. I rarely like investigation plots but this one promised political intrigue too, so I gave it a shot. Well, the first 10-15 episodes were pretty good but afterwards meh. Maybe if the drama was only 24 eps, I wouldn’t have skipped the second half 🤡
❌ Second couple (if I can even call them couple) was a wasted potential. I was so excited for their story but they were totally forgotten in the middle and then towards the end, the writers decided to make the SML a total clown… so nothing even happened 🤡
“Even if your soul is reborn, I’ll recognise you” That totally sounds like confirmation they will reunite in modern world. I hope we get more than 2 min reunion 😭

So now I’ll kindly ask the writers to WRAP UP the amnesia arc already. Let her remember EVERYTHING!!!!

So SJ finally executed his revenge but at what cost 😩 I died when I heard LTY say “father” 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I have to give props to this villain, his patience and viciousness is impressive 👏🏻 Still, I would have preferred if he was dead.
I usually hate amnesia trope but here it *might* turned out good?! LYT is now actually badass fighter! But her memory loss is very convenient 😂😂😂 Sounds like she had a reset and believes this is her first time in this world.
Snake guy looked SO good in that golden armour. I hope Ruling truly has memory loss too and can finally be on their side.
Overall, these two episodes were a tiny bit boring but its all a good set up for the second half. Demon guys might be cooler than the stupid sect. I prayyyy we don’t get SML and SFL obsessive trope here with the two new characters introduced 💀💀💀
