- Reverse Revenge!! Murong finding his father death was beyond satisfying ๐๐ป
- XJS stabbing the Princess and killing the baby was jaw dropping savage. The Emperor really loved her in his own twisted way ๐ญ I was weirdly shipping them even though they were totally dysfunctional.
- Princess admitting its her own fault broke me ๐ She really learned from everything. I thought she would die but living with regret and guilt is much more painful ending.
- XJS psycho eyes were everything in the final episode, he might be the villain but bringing the corpse to the Empress was chefโs kiss!
- Final battle. Honestly this is probably the only thing that felt a bit underwhelming compared to the rest. I wanted FYX to pierce his heart with an arrow. In general, I feel like the pay off wasnโt as strong because XJS had too many episodes away from the leads. Still, its HE and thatโs what matters!
I have yet to write my review but its an easy 10/10 ๐๐๐
The last 1 is quite similar angst vibes and enemies to lovers.
Iโm going to miss this drama and especially miss seeing CZY every day ๐ Only 3 dramas this year made me this obsessed where I couldnโt wait to watch the daily episodes!
Having said that, I hope the final episodes are just as good, but if itโs sad ending I will NOT emotionally recover ๐ญ
However, everything was so rushed and quite ridiculous. There were so many โfade to blackโ transitions and it made the whole episode a chopped up mess.
SWL thinking GT only wanted money?!!?!!! We all know he was dumb but at this point he must have some secret head trauma that prevents oxygen from reaching his brain BECAUSE WHERE IS THE RATIONAL??! Then the clown show of the police not able to catch himโฆ and then the final scene is just a hug?!?!
Another thing I didnโt like is hearing HY ready to make his newborn baby an orphan?! Yes it fits his persona, his devotion to SY but since the start he wanted a baby and it justโฆ it just felt off putting.
๐ธ Healthy mains relationship
๐ธ Bickering second couple
๐ธ Fast watch (under 30min)
๐ธ Vibes like a mix of You Are My Secret + When I Fly Towards You
โ Two minor things: first episode the ML annoyed me a lot but afterward I came to love him more and more with each episode. His attitude actually made sense later. Also, there was an annoying love rival for about 1-2 episodes.
OVERALL: This is one of those fluffy, relaxing dramas that are perfect to watch if you want something light and easy. There is not much plot, just good vibes. I recommend.
๐ฅ100% angst.
๐ฅReal enemies to lovers.
๐ฅSavage ML + Vigilant FL. Both are equally badass! I canโt get enough of how hot Chen Zhe Yuan is ๐
๐ฅRuthless palace politics. Everyone is an enemy.
๐ธ Plenty of sweet kisses + one super spicy scene.
๐ธ Bizarre moments and plot twists.
๐ธ A great mix of romance, comedy, suspense and angst.
This mini drama would have been a perfect guilty pleasure watch, if it wasnโt for the final episode. Still, I loved how bizarre the plot was and all the romantic scenes between the leads. Despite the weird title and generic poster, I found the drama quite unpredictable, fast paced and highly entertaining. I recommend it (if you can overlook the weak final episode).
I actually would have liked if the ending was either ep 8 or 11 with the graveyard scenes. These scene were the strongest and would have made the greatest impact on me. I wouldnโt have minded a sad ending so if they had inserted more fluff romance instead of the constant bullying. But Iโm sure most viewers would disagree with me and be pissed if it was a true sad ending.
I went in completely blind, not reading the synopsis or watching the trailer. I knew this wasnโt my typical watch but still wanted to try it out. The romance was developed well, the story is realistic and episode 8 felt the best. But there was too much abuse shown. 1991 bullies took too much screen time that should have been given to the 2026 adults.
Objectively, itโs a good script and production but subjectively, I didnโt like it as much as I wanted to. Iโd be hesitant to recommend it because of how extremely emotionally heavy it is. I watch for entertainment and most of the episodes stressed me out too much. I actually love angsty historical cdramas, but modern hits too close to home. The final episode unfortunately didnโt give me the pay off that I needed to make me feel the stress was truly worth it. My main reason for starting the drama was this fantasy aspect and yet in the end I felt like the letters didnโt really matter.
