This is too close to home, so watching the 1st episode was quite uncanny haha. I am turning 27, I like staying single, and I do think life is fulfilling as long as I get to do the career that I want, eat good food, shop, listen to music, and live in a place I love. The only difference between her and I, is she has the career she loves. I don't and I'm at my 10th job. And oh, I don't have my own flat too. (Laughs sadly).
I don't know how else to express it but it feels like this drama is telling me I should feel things without actually…
It's the poor execution for sure and uninteresting plot in general. A slice-of-life story seems simple, but it's actually one of the hardest genres to make engaging or interesting. It requires a lot of creativity but should feel realistic since it's character-driven.
The conversations at the end of episode 4 and the beginning of episode 5 are just gold, and it makes me cynical that such people do not exist in real life. Or maybe they do but one in a billion.
Therefore, these two are just the perfect companions, partners, or bestfriends, but they are fictional characters!!!! Why?!?!? Why must you make my standards higher, Hee Do and Yi Jin, when nobody has even met my current one yet ever!?!? Lol
I actually like this drama. I was a little apprehensive because of the old man-little girl relationship on the surface, but for some odd reason I think Japan was able to pull this off since they're experts when it comes to slice-of-life dramas. Not to mention that they hit the jackpot when they casted the child actress who is not just believable, but she totally embodies the character of an adult woman.
I enjoyed it, but I don't think I'll enjoy it as much if I'm just looking at the story itself without Lee Je Hoon starring in it. Let's just say I enjoyed Lee Je Hoon's performance more than the story itself. The premise is interesting, but the whole story kinda lacks substance.
Did anybody notice the subtle change where Deok Im initiated the kiss for the first time at the end? I thought…
Yes and I don't even know which heartbreak is worse - Deok Im at the end of episode 16 (saying bye to her past self) or San at the end of episode 17 (his longing and mourning for Deok Im's death). This is definitely one of my favorite dramas for sure. I'll probably read their history too.
I started my 2022 with crocodile tears...and goosebumps. Thanks, Red Sleeve, for that new experience haha. Now…
Did anybody notice the subtle change where Deok Im initiated the kiss for the first time at the end? I thought it was a good touch, especially when it came to the subject of freedom and position of women in society during that time.

Now I'm off to cry in a corner and think about how to move on from this compelling story.
