less than 24 hours till the new episodes!! the weekend waiting is always extremely excruciating for me LOL
There are various spy organizations in the drama, and it seems that she is head of the spy organization from the Liang Dynasty (she's also a princess of the Liang Dynasty). Her name here is Xiao Yu (brother to Xiao Ce).

According to the description on Baidu, she likes Yan Xun, but instead of marrying him and him not loving her, she decides to just be a good person to the Liang people. I can't seem to remember who she was in the book since the drama changed some names/added new characters. I'll let you know when I remember lol

haha don't really dig the male lead too much but he's a new actor signed under ZLY.
Jin Han is that dude that played Chiyun Nan in Princess Weiyoung and Zhao Xifeng in Princess Agents and both characters were bad guys LOL
hopefully his acting is good in this one.
still gonna watch this for ZLY though :D
and I heard the novel is pretty good so that's always nice

I had to drop it. The female victim mentality was too annoying. does it get any better??
wait yeah do you mean the first few episodes...because she literally gets sooo awesome later on (especially in the book!!) and since they're following the book rather well, and were not even that far into the book yet. I'm excited to see the parts where she becomes the Xiu Li General and stuff

So this looks good, but I hesitate to watch it since it's in chinese. Don't they do voice overs...?…
historical cdramas are usually dubbed but modern cdramas are usually not dubbed. I read on weibo that the voices in here are their actual voices. dubbers usually do not make the drama worse, since the dubbers are professionally trained, they are supposed to make them better haha

Hi sb once posted why it was understandable why Bai Qian wants to forget their relationship while Ye Huas wants…
BQ says in like episode 26 that since this whole experience was simply a heavenly trial for her to become a high goddess, then the experience wasn't of much use to her so why not forget it since it was so painful.

as for why YH wanted to remember it, that's not stated directly in the drama. but I would assume it's because it was one of the best times of his life when he finally felt that he could do smth to his heart's desire and not have to constantly follow what the Heavenly Emperor wanted to do and also he probably felt guilty towards her and probably wanted to remember her so he could tell A'Li too

OMG FINALLY AN ARTICLE FOR CHINESE HISTORICAL DRAMAS!!! There are sooooooo many wonderful historical cdramas out…
omg yeah the portrayal of families during that time is really good because my parents (who usually hate me watching so many dramas) were actually okay with me watching Battle of Changsha. and yup my very very older relatives and grandparents were very young children during this time, so they have a few memories from this era and also their own parents tell them what happened so now they tell the younger generations their history too. I used to find it sooooo annoying, but now I understand just how sad that era was :((

OMG FINALLY AN ARTICLE FOR CHINESE HISTORICAL DRAMAS!!!

There are sooooooo many wonderful historical cdramas out there. Personally, I think historical cdramas are better than korean saeguks (altho I do think kdramas have the upper hand in regards to modern dramas) but Chinese historical dramas are definitely one of the best!!! <3333

really hope that historical chinese dramas can receive a lot more love and acknowledgement (and subs for people who don't speak chinese!) in the future :D

Battle of Changsha is a very realistic drama, portrays Chinese life during that era very well. Really made me understand my grandparents/older relatives views in life better and understand their pain during that time period as well.

Re-watching. If they are in London why do the people talk like English is not their first language? Not trying…
pretty sure they don't actually hire English people in the drama and just find whoever can speak English hahaa since cheaper/free or smth not too sure tbh but that happens a lot in cdramas. Also might be the fact that Chinese people can't really tell the difference between accurate pronounciation and false pronounciation so they don't put in much effort for the English parts of a drama
