I believe that is the part in the novel where Xing'er and Yuwen Yue are in the water, and he pushes her ashore to save her but he dies. But turns out later on he's not actually dead.

I am just going to ship both ships this is too hard for me XD

I think the writers were trying to go by the book, since this is like a huge turning point in the story and was quite a long scene in the book (I don't remember lol) Also lots of novel fans complain if things aren't filmed properly sometimes so maybe that's why they took 2 episodes to finish this segment? I'm just guessing hehe

I really hope so!! Li Ce in the novel was really funny and an interesting character, altho here he is called Xiao Ce. I really didn't see Deng Lun as the one to play Li Ce tbh (since I've only seen Deng Lun in Ode to Joy 2) but I hope I'll be surprised with how he portrays the character XD

ZLY said they only filmed 2/3 of the books. The actual ending of the book is not sad, but if they only got through 2/3 of it....then it might be sad??? we'll have to wait and see haha

the TV version is now slightly slower than the uncut version, so Hunan TV isn't letting websites upload the uncut version because then the uncut version would be faster haha

hmm I think most fans in China think she's doing well though?? but international and mainland fans usually have opposing tastes and opinions so that might be the case lol

I don't really know if they end up having irrelevant stuff, but I read that the books are realllly really long LOL and I think ZLY even said in an interview that they didn't film all the books(?) or they had to take out parts because of regulations/length restrictions I might've misheard lol but I think that's what she said

I think someone below commented that the official reason that SARFT gave for banning time-traveling in dramas is that they are "disrespecting history" but other people say it's because there have been suicide cases in the past where fans think they can actually time-travel or smth lol

yup they will end up having a romantic relationship according to the books!
