I feel like the books explain their inner thoughts and feeling better than the drama does which is understandable but it makes the viewers slightly misunderstand the characters and their motives more :(( and the drama changed a few things, for example, in the books, Tan Zongming is not some handsome dude, he's like a fat, kinda old(?), typical business man LOL and there's like changes and stuff rip

hmm I see where youre coming from. I think the show changed it a bit from the book, the book kind of explains it better and sadly my translation skills are not good enough for me to fully explain and I read it a year ago so I don't remember too well haha

as a huge fan of Chinese dramas I really hope Korea doesn't remake this one. This is a xianxia drama, a genre that only China has since it's Chinese fantasy, so it'd be really awkward if Korea remade it lol

However, I do think that although Qu/Zhao are cute together, their differences will definitely be an obstacle in their relationships, especially since Chinese parents often look for a daughter in-law/son in-law whose family and status are similar to theirs.

I always feel so bad for Shengmei, but there are a lot of people like Shengmei in Chinese families whose parents favor the son over the daughter :(( it's hard to digest because of its blatant realism sometimes

I also agree with your points, but unfortunately, I think it "had" to be that way because this was her heavenly trial to become a High Goddess, and heavenly trials in Chinese fantasy are pretty much always filled with suffering :(

I saw on Weibo that they will be releasing the opening theme song for this drama on May 25th! They haven't officially announced who the singers will be for this song, but judging from the teaser photo they released, it will possibly be a duet between Zhao Li Ying and Zhang Bi Chen! Zhang Bi Chen sang the ending theme song for Noble Aspirations and Eternal Love as well as one of the OSTs for The Journey of Flower. Super excited because I love to hear Zhao Liying sing as well XD

yes she frustrates me sometimes too haha but then sometimes her genuineness really touches my heart. But I like that she's a character in this drama because unfortunately there are actually people like her in real life and it's an interesting portrayal. It seems that she didn't really learn her lesson from her previous relationship but I guess that's how humans are since human nature is so hard to change.

I honestly have no clue when a celestial dies, since this is Chinese fantasy and I don't really know how that works haha but Dong Hua has been alive since like the dawn of time or smth he's quite old but dont worry he doesn't die XD

omg same I also felt bad for Mo Yuan but I read that the author of the novel is writing a novel that focuses on Mo Yuan's life and his supposed love interest is some old goddess from the Ghost Tribe like thousands of years ago or smth haha

Nope they will not actually break off the engagement. The drama has a happy ending, but takes some sad detours to get there LOL
And yes he gets his arm back definitely.

The 2nd female lead (Feng Jiu) has her own love interest (Dong Hua). There's like this other female character that really likes Ye Hua and tries to chase after him but he like gives zero crap about her LOL
it's kind of complicated to explain, but I would say that the main leads are pretty much together for the whole drama

Yeah, that's how the book goes. But it seems that the drama will be changing some things, so I hope all five of them end up happy!! Although that will not follow the realistic view of life that this drama portrays haha

Bai Qian still ends up with Ye Hua, because by then, she's already fallen for Ye Hua. Mo Yuan does have feelings for her, but he conceals them (also BQ is kinda dense to feeling in general LOL) and I think she also doesn't end up with Mo Yuan because in Chinese culture, shifu-disciple romantic relationships weren't very well accepted.

Also if you pay attention to when Feng Jiu is trying to carve Dong Hua's name on the Three Lives Stone, you will see BQ and YH's names together on the stone, so basically they're fated to end up together. <--that's in like episode 52 or 53 though.

Yes Mo Yuan comes back!! He takes a hell of a long time to put back together his immortal essence piece by piece I think he comes back in episode 50,51 or 52 LOL.

True, I do think it might have been better if Ye Hua told her when they first got together that he was the Crown Prince, but I think he was afraid to do so probably out of fear, which is agreeably his fault. But I think his actions when they're both up in Heavens are more justifiable since he was trying to convince the other immortals that Su Su was not important to him so that they wouldn't do anything to her, but obviously his plan backfired. But I mean, he paid for his mistakes through three hundred years of suffering and all the things he went through when he was trying to get BQ again with his injuries and ultimately giving up his life, etc.
