Review Dear Mayang Street Spoiler
Love ur reviewing this drama!! Sadly, Xiao Jian has to die :( T_T I read all ur comments and ur point of view…
Yes, sad as it might be, don't forget, it is exactly this, Ou Xiaojian's sacrifices, that has inspired Yi Dongdong to write the story. I guess Xiaoxiao's feelings for Dongdong is so subtle in the last few episodes that many viewers haven't picked that up, especially they don't have any kissing scenes. But for me, those gazes already speak a thousand words. No matter what, we all, as well as Dongdong, know that there's always a special place in Xiaoxiao's heart for Xiaojian.

Yes, I've been waiting for The Wolf too. If you have liked Dear Mayang Street, I think you may enjoy Go Ahead too. Happy drama watching!

Well, we all go through different experiences and we interpret the same thing differently. Maybe you just don't see and feel what I see and feel, and that's all right. Enjoy your dramas. Cheers!

Yes, my heart breaks for Ou Xiaojian too. I don't think Dongdong will ever be able to replace Xiaojian in Xiaoxiao's heart, and he knows it. All he wants is to be by Xiaoxiao's side to love and protect her. He doesn't really care if she loves him back as much, as long as she is with him. This is very real in real life: people don't have to totally not love the other person to marry another, and they can still have a happy marriage together, especially if they have children. Realistically, people are not like characters in a romance story, and time always heals, no matter how painful it is.

In episode 36, it's likely that the crooks have already known that Ou Xiaojian is a police spy as this An manager is saying. He has his men escort Ou Xiaojian back to the headquarters to face the woman CEO. During their conversation, apparently Ou Xiaojian's real identity is already exposed and hence he gets killed once he returns to HK, no one knows. Even if he hasn't been killed right away, you know how gangsters work, they won't let him live for long. Without Xiaoxiao exposing the organization, those bad guys would have gotten away from the law and justice would not have been served, especially for Ou Xiaojian (he has sacrificed so much).

After Ou Xiaojian leaves 7 years ago, Xiaoxiao says she has let go of him. She keeps the pen Dongdong gives her indicating that she has feelings for him. However, Dongdong has not expressed himself to her face-to-face so she waited. Ma Dada does ask her about her feelings towards Dongdong but she wouldn't answer nor say no, again indicating that she has feelings for him. When Dongdong says he is leaving for Shenzhen for good, Xiaoxiao seems lost, again indicating that she wishes he stays.

Had the news of Ou Xiaojian's death come sooner before they get married, perhaps it's hard for them to continue with their marriage plan then, but not impossible. But the death comes years later and by this time, they've already had a child together and their relationship is totally committed to each other now. I don't see why they would split up at this point, for someone who has already passed away. It's not like they have done anything wrong against Ou Xiaojian.

Oh, you're taking it the wrong way. The way I see it, those are not the smiles of joy, but resignation. We also see Xiaoxiao's tears fall. I can feel how they feel: They must be thinking, what has happened to Xiaojian all these years? Did he or did he not do all the things others accused him of? Why didn't he come out to clarify? At the end, when they received his belongings, then only they had the epiphany. To them, now everything fitted into the puzzle. They came to realize everything Xiaojian had done for the Mayang Street. They must be thinking to themselves: Had we known all these in the first place , maybe things would have been different. They couldn't do anything anymore. They couldn't say anything anymore. All they could was just smile a sigh of resignation to each other. What else could they have done at this point?

During Yi Dongdong's narratives, he did mention all these. He had no idea at all what Xiaojian was involved in and all the actions Xiaojian had taken for their neighborhood at that time. That's why Xiaojian has been an inspiration for him to write this story.

Hope you see it this way and feel better for the Xiaoxiao and Dongdong characters. As it is, it's already sad enough. Don't make yourself feeling even sadder by hating Xiaoxiao and Dongdong :)

The scriptwriter needs to be hanged for that ending The bitch FL takes credit for all the work the ML does proclaims…
This is based on a story personally experienced by our SML. I don't think the scriptwriter should simply just change the ending to suit those viewers who want Xiaoxiao and Xiaojian togehter.

At the time, there were a lot of unknowns. No one knew what had happened to Xiaojian when he was being recalled back to HK; he was escorted back. The kingpin was already suspicious of him. I guess at that time he has already met his fate. It was Xiaoxiao who may have helped him complete the job which he couldn't (because he could have been dead). Years later, the police only recovered Xiaojian's body.

Hmmm, I think you may have interpreted the story very differently. For me it's not like this.

I don't know how to tell you guys, just feel sad, sad, sad! My heart aches. It's a beautiful story, but I cry…
Yeah, same here. Xiaoxiao has more chemistry with Xiaojian than with Dongdong, but since Xiaojian never reappears, Xiaoxiao has to move on, and Dongdong is right there waiting. Turns out Xiaojian's disappearance is because he's dead already. T_T

Yes, Dongdong marries Xiaoxiao in the end. Xiaojian dies (not shown) because his cover is blown. Sad, sad, sad!

Amazing drama! Two thumbs up!

I'm digging up 'old people' dramas, like Spring in Happiness. Pretty hilarious, noisy and good acting. Just that it's hard to watch a 40 something pretending to be a teenager, unless he/she is Tan Songyun :D
