Everything happens in the drama happens to us one way or another and in some point of our life. That's why it's so relatable. I have countless times running in my flip flops and all of a sudden my feet poked through because the shitty flip flops broke. These are all the little details that are so endearing.
I freaking love the relationship between ZQ and LJJ, lol. I'm glad they didn't end up together bc they really…
I love their relationship too, so genuine and unpretentious. Jianjian is so direct with her questions yet the questions don't feel hurting by the listeners. She is good in giving examples to help others see things the other way, just as good as her father. Really love their conversations. On the other hand, Jianjian is also the one who comes up with all the crazy ideas to make the brothers do with her. Simply hilarious and adorable.
still love him but we're entering the "a little unhealthy" territory with LX. but since JJ is kind of aware of…
I don't feel it's "unhealthy". Imagine this: if for a decade you have been living with a heavy burden, now you feel you can put that burden down and take a deep breath, and you have a shoulder to lean on, what would you do? You'd want to grab it and hold on tight, even not sharing it for fear of losing it. That's how I feel about Ling Xiao's emotions.
When I begin to think this drama can't reduce me to tears again...Li Xiao had to take me down his very dark Memory…
Well, there's a saying: when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. That's how we get through life. He becomes brave because he doesn't self-pity which is the worst thing anyone can do to oneself.
I can empathize with both mothers, Chen Ting (Ling Xiao's mother) and Hei Mei (Ziqiu's mother). They are not bad people. If they are categorized as bad mothers, then many of our divorced or single mothers may also be wrongly classified under that category, which is very unfair.
Chen Ting has gone through a lot. She loses a child, has gone through 2 husbands, crippled herself. Not many people could have taken all these misfortune without going insane or becoming depressed. No mothers will be the same again. It is also a human instinct to blame others, as in Chen Ting's case, she blames Ling Xiao for the loss of her daughter. Many parents and husbands/wives do that to protect themselves. If we look deep into ourselves, I'm pretty sure we have repeatedly blamed others for whatever misfortune we have encountered. Therefore, we should not criticize Chen Ting because her character is very human. I must applaud her for walking out of her darkness so bravely. It's very very hard to do if we understand how depression affects the mind.
I can see Hei Mei a very caring mother. Being single with not much education and no financial security, she has no choice but to leave Ziqiu with her own mother in the rural area. She loves Ziqiu very much. Seeing how she's now treating her young son who may have developmental issues, I can tell she's a good mother. At this point, we still do not know what has happened in her life, so we should not jump into conclusion and brand her as a bad mother.
