It seems a bit strange to spend 7 episodes on developing the kid characters and talking about the importance of…
I also find the editing and time given to various stories a bit strange. It's a four week gap in the younger generation's story, that's a very long time.
What do you mean back story about a couple? Literally they're the main leads of the drama. I think upcoming episodes…
There were definitely security cameras in 1994. I worked at a video store in 1987 and we had security cameras installed. So the time period had nothing to do with her not expecting cameras.
Frank was a child treated as a bargaining chip between the US and Korea and then abused and exploited for his powers, he's a victim, not a straight villain
To start with... I like this drama. We can see so many good actors in this drama too.I've watched until ep 9....…
I agree with you on eps 8-9, 1-7 was multilayered where you got the relationship development between Bong Seok and Huisoo, some of Huisoo's (badass) back story, some revelations about the parents and their powers plus Frank stalking everyone to add tension. Eps 8-9 were just loooooong and sloooooow scenes of Mi Hyun doing paperwork and Mi Hyun and Doosik sitting under bad fluorescent lighting. Those scenes dragged out for way too long and I wasn't feeling the chemistry.
Yeah, I guess that one of things that people find hard to believe is that even us adults can enjoy the teenagers'…
I agree with you on the development of the adult romance being inorganic. I would have much preferred seeing them on missions together and getting to know each other instead of this weird love at first sight thing on his side, plus the agency manipulating them to develop the romance made it feel less authentic to me. My favorite bits were when we could see where Bongseok got his endearingly goofy personality but it wasn't enough to save these episodes for me.
Not a fan of the pacing of episodes 8&9. I appreciate the back story but 2 episodes of back story about a couple…
I agree with you, the pacing was slooooow and I'm still so confused about the agency and how they got involved in the work in the first place. ETA: I read through all of your responses and I agree with every point you made. It's not that I wasn't looking forward to seeing the parents' romance, in fact I was excited about it which is why I found these episodes so disappointing.
Drama logic - leads need to fail in the same mission without knowing each other and ml will be the guy then who…
Yeah it was pretty weak and how did the agency know he was in love with her? He could've stopped himself from completing the mission for a lot of reasons.
I loved episodes 1-7 but eps 8 & 9 left me cold and it's not because I don't appreciate mature romance (I'm 57 years old), I just didn't like the execution. It was very slow and I didn't feel much chemistry between the leads. I'm also creeped out that they were manipulated into falling for each other by the agency instead of having it happen organically. Also the reasoning is weird, they just knew Doosik would fall in love and that meant he would do whatever they asked him to do, including killing the NK president but now they're angry at him even though the NK president is still dead? And they knew Doosik would come back even though it's stupid because it puts the woman he loves in danger (what's to keep the agency from murdering both of them?) The plot doesn't make much sense.
I'd also like to get more explanation for how people got their powers or how their powers were discovered and how they are recruited to work for the big bad agency. We had two episodes where I didn't feel like I gained a lot of understanding for the whole setup and the developing romance was (for me) not strong enough to make up for it.
Okay I'm a bit confused. So Mi Hyun was told that the reason for her little spy operation was the to test Do Shik's…
I have the same questions. I was so confused and I'm not sure if it's the script or the translations.
Also, I find it super creepy that they were manipulated into falling in love, it really takes the enjoyment out of the romance (doesn't help that unlike everyone else I didn't think they had great chemistry)
This surprisingly good, I hope it says good lol!!! 2023 been a letdown for kdramaa at least for me so far.
Same, the only other drama I was excited about this year was Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 but as much fun as I had watching it, I absolutely love Moving.
Prim killed it in ep 1. I like that the character is written to be grey. She's a good girl but she's also mesmerized by the darkness. And Prim brought out all the contradictions. I also love the contrast between how tiny she is yet how fierce she is.
Also the chemistry between her and Win is already 🔥🔥🔥. The scene where she watches him take off his shirt??? And when he exorcises her in the tub?????? Even if they don't have a romance there's a huge amount of tension there and I'm here for it.
Also a shoutout to the director, Patha Thongpan. The opening credits look like an indie film and the editing is tight as hell. I was screaming through the scene with the security guard. There's no explicit horror and yet it's still scary and compellingl. Well done sir. The only thing I didn't like is they used a music cue from F4 Thailand that I instantly remembered and it took me out of the scene for a moment 🤣
I discovered that Aof got engaged to his boyfriend in 2021 so no wonder the proposal scene was so beautifully done 😭😭😭 Yes, EarthMix put in gorgeous, heartfelt performances but that scene felt so personal and I'm sure it's because of Aof.
