Nick was RECORDING. I'm calling it now that Nick is going to lose his mind and kidnap Boston and keep him tied up in the back room of the electronics store

Because it was like that in the Manhwa. Everything will be connected and explained. 9 more episodes to go.
I think the problem is that something that works well in a manhwa doesn't necessarily work as well in a filmed drama. Having said that I'm excited by the preview for eps 12-13, it looks fantastic.
Can someone tell me if the plot moves faster after some time? I'm on Ep 5 and it's just so frustratingly slow.…
Honestly, the plot does not move any faster. After ep 11 I still don't understand how the agency works. For you to enjoy this drama you have to fall in love with the characters. You may enjoy the adult parts more but it doesn't move any faster.
I know I'm getting dragged for saying this but I still have problems with the plotting. We had seven episodes on the kids, then a two episode flashback with one set of parents, then another two episode flashback for another set of parents that didn't have much overlap or continuity with the previous episodes. Not only that but episode 10 kept jumping back and forth in time for no reason, so it was flashbacks within a flashback episode. It all feels very disjointed, especially because the middle seven episodes don't have the same kind of continuity that the first seven episodes had.
It's not that there aren't great moments in the episodes (especially the Oldboy homage fight in the hallway) but because of the way the narrative is constructed it's constantly yanking us away from people we've become invested in and throwing us into an entirely different setting with new people. The plotting doesn't seem to be a problem for most people but for me it's making it very hard for me to stay interested in the characters. Like by the time we get back to the kids will we even remember what they were up to when we last saw them?
Finally some real messiness out of this show - Irin and Hack are a full on disaster and I am unexpectedly into…
Irin and Hack are bringing the toxicity I was looking for from the beginning and I love it. Florence is so much more interesting than every other FL, it's kind of embarrassing how she blows them out of the water
The backstories are like half of the original webtoon's story and I believe its context is essential before the…
The backstories aren't bad, it's the narrative structure that's weird. It's something that might work well in a webtoon where you can read at your own pace and easily page back to earlier scenes if you've forgotten something. But imo it doesn't work very well in a series where the episodes only drop twice a week and a month can go by before you revisit earlier scenes and characters. I loved the first 7 episodes but four weeks are going by before we revisit the teens. I didn't love eps 8 & 9, but even if I had we're not getting any more story on them for at least three weeks. That's a long gap.
What do you guys btw think about the gore? I did not expect this drama to have this graphic gore. For example…
I agree with you, I was recommending this show to friends of mine and they were interested but then one of them asked me if she could watch it with her kid and I realized wait a minute there's actually quite a lot of graphic violence in this thing. Otherwise it would totally be family appropriate, you have a lot of talk of humanism and values, looking out for other people, and the kids are utterly charming.
If we seriously get 7 episodes about adults now, I'm afraid that it's not gonna maintain its momentum. Even if…
In addition to everything you said, even if you love the romance in episodes 8 and 9 you're not going to see those people together again for at least four episodes. It's a weird narrative choice.
