It's cute seeing Off as the one with a crush first but OffGun should graduate to more mature stories. You could still have a light-hearted romcom set in an office. Off appeared in full adult roles in The Jungle and Midnight Motel and GMMTV has produced adult romcoms like Cherry Magic and Faceless Love so I can't understand why OffGun are willing to do student roles when they are over 30.

There's problems with New's performance but I think the bigger issue is the writing. I don't know who Achi is supposed to be at this point in the story. He says "Karan having feelings for me is not a bad thing at all," he's enjoying the attention and everyone around them is urging them to date. So why not get together? The supposed guilt he feels over using Karan is super contrived. One time helping him at work and one sleepover equals using? It doesn't make sense. This is a problem with the writing independent of any comparisons with the Japanese version.

Only Karan and Jan's characters seem to be fluent. in the scene where a Japanese executive wishes Achi happy birthday Jan has to translate

He mostly speaksThai, when he speaks Japanese there are Thai subtitles.

There's actually some significant changes to the dialogues, especially during the sleepover and breakfast scene.

Yes I agree and another problem is that Achi is so open to Karan's feelings right away so there's no conflict. If Achi is already thinking "Karan having feelings for me is not a bad thing at all" during the breakfast scene and letting Karan wipe his lips with his thumb, then what's the problem? What's stopping him from dating him, especially when his boss and colleague are basically encouraging him to go for it.

Sing is adorable! He's a more fun and endearing character than Japanese Rokkaku.

Episode 2 was so different from the Japanese version that I finally put it out of my mind and decided to enjoy the Thai story for what it is. Tay is doing really well at portraying Karan's vulnerability around Achi, both at the office when Achi starts distancing himself from him and in the restaurant scene. I'm not as sold on New, there's something missing from his performance and he's not convincing me that the character is deeply insecure. Second couple is just alright, I wish they hadn't leaned into a supposed age difference because Jinta doesn't look old enough to be called uncle. Sing is adorable and they are setting it up so Karan's coming jealousy makes sense. Overall it was a good episode, I am really looking forward to seeing where they take the story.

I had the same reaction, blood and death but no emotional impact because we don't stay with any story long enough to feel any way about it. Not the fault of the actors who are all good, esp. SIG and Park Seo Dam

The rating on this one is too low. Yes the plot is basically non-existent and the romance is unconvincing but the female lead is fantastic: funny, smart, passionate, principled and messy. Honestly one of the best female leads I've ever seen in a drama. All of the side characters are great too, especially the older man in charge of the comic artists, he's hilarious. If you think of this drama as a office slice of life rather than as a romance and don't worry too much about what the plot is building towards, you'll enjoy it. It's a fun ride.

I honestly don't care much at all 🥲 just an observation that people will give low ratings for reasons that have nothing to do with the quality of the drama. This drama is going to pull a big audience regardless of the ratings.

This review is a year old so I don't know if you'll see this but I wanted to thank you for writing it. I am almost finished with the drama and like you I absolutely love all the characters, especially Mamoru. No wonder everyone falls in love with her, she's passionate, smart, principled, funny and quirky. She's flawed but she always leads from the heart and tries to do right by the people around her. The actress is unconventionally beautiful and I love how they styled her. The side characters are all wonderful, especially Miyamura, Imayoshi, Ririka and Ikari and I loved the theme of found family and banding together to build the company. The plot is all over the place, the editing is weird, and I didn't find the romance credible (though when Yu goes through a very bad patch toward the end of the drama and is crumbling under the pressure I found myself a lot more invested in his character and the relationship). Still I truly loved watching this drama and I'm sad so many people hated it.

Japanese aesthetics are really different from Korea, that's just how it is. I appreciate it now, super tired of all the face smoothing and plastic surgery that Korean actors get

I loved the Japanese version but that's an absurdly low rating. The CM Japan fans also obliterated the ratings for Super Rich which is a Jdrama that stars the leads as love rivals for the same woman and that I'm currently watching and enjoying a lot. I wish people would settle down about this stuff.
